My friends and I stayed in a room with a queen bed and a single bed with a shared bathroom. The room was great! However, there were aunts EVERYWHERE on the wall next to the single bed. I was so thrown off by them and they were in the sheets as well.

I almost didn’t stay at Room2Board— they are VERY Instagram-friendly, and I am not exactly the IG demographic. That said, I am glad I didn’t get scared off! Room2Board was clean and friendly, and they were strict about quiet hours starting at 11 pm, so no worries about pounding music all night. My only two comments are SUPER minor: it would be great if they provided hooks in the rooms to hang up wet/damp clothes, especially since they don’t want you to hang clothes out on the balconies, and the free coffee doesn’t actually start at 5 am like the signs in the room say- it starts at 7 am.

This is such a great hostel. I had a private room with a shared bathroom. Staff was friendly and the place was big, bright and clean. Right by the beach for great surfing. 10/10. Even got to watch nfl by the pool in the big projector Close to a few good bars for night life. Don’t go alone at night. Jaco is high risk if you are out alone at night.

Excellent price and environment especially u love surfing and great party !! There are many awesome guys and make me sooooo happy, absolutely I wanna go back again !

There is a reason why this place is rated “best hostel in Costa Rica”. Clean, cool vibe, really nice pool, great location. This place is fantastic. My only gripe was that the free morning coffee wasn’t more than luke-warm. I’d still gladly go back.

Great hotel! Had happy hour 3 times a day, right by the beach and cheap surf rentals. They even had yoga on the roof.

Warm and welcoming staff. Great attention by owner to make sure your stay is wonderful. Friendly customers from all over world. Tour services available plus surfing lessons and rentals. Yoga and group hikes. Good food. Pleasant bar atmosphere and DJ most nights, until 11pm ... not too late so you can still get sleep. Options for private rooms and baths with AC, which we had, so good for any adult even tho it says it is a hostel. Good Wifi. Steps to beach. Easy walk to town, for shops, restaurants and bars. Overall a fantastic experience.

Every time I come to Jaco I stay here and I keep on coming back because the place is nice, clean and with super good vibe. Staff is always helpful and they are the nicest people.

This is a great place very clean staff great atmosphere was awesome. Only thing could improve is have a/c in all rooms as have very large windows (so u have a great view) Was very hot and uncomfortable to sleep. But beds very comfortable

Awesome, fun hostel. With food and bar and surf school within the hostel, having a great time didn’t require searching around town. In a nice, less crowded part of town.

This hostel has good vibes, tasty food, and is steps from the surf in Jaco. The main strip where restaurants and bars are is a few minutes walk away. The rooms are good as well. My only complaint is that they charge you $10 per day to use AC, even on their highest priced rooms. The rooms do not have much airflow so AC is necessary. Overall excellent stay at Room2Board, highly recommended!

Coming from Playa Grande this was a complete change of pace although it was still pretty chilled. Its a short walk along the beach to town yet it still feel a bit more remote than that. The staff are super friendly, the food is good and the beer is cheap what more do you need. The music is good but does run from about 10am -11pm, could use turning the volume or bass down a bit in the morning although that might just be me getting a bit older.

Solid hostel! I had a private room, optional AC activation for $15/day. Took a private surf lesson for $50, followed by a rooftop massage for $35. Excellent value there! The booking office is great for scheduling any of that, plus airport shuttles. If youre talking to someone who says theyre new, just immediately seek someone seasoned for the best info!

This is a great place for young party people. Great bar, pool, and atmosphere. Staff is great. The crowd is young and energetic. It's not so good for families or someone looking for a calm place to stay. But if you're into the party mode then this place is for you.

What can I say. I don't stay at hostels much. I booked a single room without shared accommodations. Decor was bland, heavy mold in sink, I was not allowed to bring friends too my room even though I was not sharing my room. Jaco is a great destination, but I sincerely wished I chose a different place to stay. Bartenders kept me waiting 20 minutes to order food and drinks. If you are looking for bare minimum and cheap, stay here. If you are looking for a more central location with more to offer, better service, and cleaner rooms, try the many other options. It's also worth mentioning that staff was rude and did not make me feel welcome.

Decent facitilities and beach access. No Wi-Fi in our room. Uninspired blaring top 40 competes with never ending construction clammer. Tries to be hip but the mood was set immediately by a certain older member of staff hitting on my teenage travel companion throughout our stay. Bar food wasn't bad and the roof had a good view. Overall, the place had a strange "hanging onto youth" vibe. Could be worse but wouldn't go back.

From Internet, I thought I was getting a private room - could not have been more opposite. 8ish people per room, mixed. Very clean though. Loved the individual fans and reading lights

Amazing- staff are awesome, interactive and very helpful! owner is usually around and pretty cool too. Can't say enough great things about this place! Felt so at home and the vibes exuberates through the guests. Everyone was having a fun time and easy to talk to around the bar at night. Food was really good too! Would go back in a heart beat
