Have been here a few times and will keep coming back. It is so easy and the rooms are fab. You are 4/5 minutes form the centre of the city and all its wonderful shops, bars and restaurants.

It was a lovely stay. The room was very nice and the bed was amazingly comfortable. I would highly recommend it.

We had a lovely experience stay but there are a few things that could be worked on. Overall it was very nice.
The breakfast was delicious and very fresh. it was European style but still very nice. The beds were very comfortable and it was within walking distance of some lovely bars and restaurants.
The reception opening hours says 8.00am - 7.00pm but on both days there was no one there at times during the allotted reception time. Yesterday the reception was all locked by 6.30pm. This was one small item but it didn't take away from our overall stay.

you have to consider the following issues before choosing this hotel.
1. check in: if you will arrive after 6pm, it will be inconvenient to check in. they will put the key inside the hotel and you may not be able to find someone to open the door. they use physical key and only provide one key.
2. noise: the room is clean and large but it is a very historic building so you will hear every step from the upper floor.
3. water pressure: as mentioned, it is a very old building, the water pressure is insufficient. Especially, there were no hot water once when I was taking shower. there was no staff in the hotel and they only provided me a whatsapp to contact them. (they get off work at 6) I whatsapp them immediately but I didn't receive any response even I checked out.
4. facility: some light bulbs were out of order and no refrigerator

Everything about this hotel is exceptional. The room is very large and has a sofa also in it; the mattress is fantastic, the location is in the middle of the center of Leiden and the breakfast was very nice. I would definitely come back to this hotel on my next trip.

Our experience here was amazing! We were upgraded to the Presidential Suite at no extra charge (and didnʻt even ask for the upgrade!) and the suite was truly luxurious! It is located near the university, right in the middle of the area we wanted to explore, so it was perfect.

The room was beautiful as was the bathroom. The shower and bath were unsafe for older people- no grab rails on a slippery floor. Also no pegs in bathroom to hang things on.
The sound deadening was very poor and disturbing from the room above. Breakfast inflexible in timing. Expensive for what it is.

Our room was beautiful with three huge windows overlooking the canal. Leiden was a lovely university town with lots of good restaurant options. My husband is a cyclist, and was pleased with the ease of renting an electric bike from Easyfiets and it was easy to navigate the region with the Dutch bike routing system. Perfect temperature for biking and no rain the first week of May! Very kind and helpful staff—especially Anna who cleaned our room!

Steep spiral wooden stairs, no lift. Breakfast could be a little less food, I wasted much of it. Especially don't book the room on the top floor with the bathtub, you won't enjoy it. Only shampoo soap and body lotion in the bathroom - I would like to see better bathroom amenities to match the excellence of this hotel. The location is about a 15-20 minute walk to the station, mostly flat.

What a stunning hotel! We were deeply impressed with the location and the management. Our room was exquisite, the breakfasts delightful. We could not have had a better stay anywhere else. We hope to return, and can recommend Steenhof Suites without hesitation.

Steenhof Suites was a beautiful property. We were in the Presidential Suite as that was the only room left when booking, and it was amazing. Besides having a very large bedroom/living room area, there was a beautiful bathroom and gorgeous modern kitchen. To top it all off, there was a washer and dryer with detergent included! The property was renovated beautifully and had modern furniture which made it interesting in this old building. There isn’t a staff there 24 hours so you do have to give them an idea of when you’re arriving. They also don’t have a kitchen, but breakfast was brought in at the time you requested and was wonderful. I can’t recommend this property highly enough!

Waited 45 minutes for the after-6pm-receptionist to answer his phone and let me in. Yes, they knew I was coming at 8pm. But aside from needing to replace him with a night manager who answers his phone instead of partying, excellent hotel.

This is a wonderful boutique hotel in a 15th century building in the heart of Leiden. The hotel is in perfect condition, and the staff is very friendly an helpful. The reason that my rating is less than 5, is the absence of an elevator. More senior customers may find it difficult to climb spiral staircases to their rooms. It would be important to mention this in the hotel description.

Two Beautiful buildings run together, one with marble floor, one solid oak. Astoundingly quiet, even though it's in the middle of Leiden. The goal staff are not on site in the night, but we had absolutely no sense of their absence, and they were really prepared to have us check in late if necessary. Can not recommend this hotel enough. We will certainly stay there again if occasion arises

This is a lovely renovated hotel in a historical building near the center of Leiden. We loved the location. Our room (#3) was beautifully decorated and had lots of space. The shower was amazing. Our only complaint was that we could hear the people above us as they walked around and talked. That said, the folks below us could probably hear us too as the floor boards creaked a lot. The staff were friendly and helpful. They had a small outdoor room in the back to store our bikes.

Really enjoyed our stay here it was a good base to explore the region on bikes. The local area has all the services that you will need if you are on a bike tour and it's a great location to use as a basis to explore the region.

Fantastic property…..very unique and most comfortable. May be the best location in Leiden for food, shopping, and sightseeing. Everything is walkable. Highly recommend Steenhof Suites!

Second stay at Steenhof Suites and will definitely be back on my next trip to visit family in Amsterdam and Leiden. Beautiful, large, unique rooms and perfectly clean. Even in the midst of a lockdown, we felt welcomed and cared for. Just be sure you have a phone connection so you can call them if you check in late at night!
