Lovely little BB. We chose the cottage to keep to ourselves although found ourselves touring the inside of BB and sitting on the porch of the main house. Very lovely place

Howard was so friendly and welcoming when i checked in. Really great old house and beautifully appointed. Will stay here again.

If was a different type of property than what we have stayed in before but we found it very comfortable and we would recommend especially if you plan on renting more than one room. Very personal.

This property is beautiful with large rooms for comfort and the staff and owners are such nice people. We felt at home.

Historical and great place to stay

This is our second year to stay at the English Merchants Inn. The beds & pillows are so comfortable! They provide q-tips, eye makeup remover, cotton balls, makeup remover wipes, & bathroom spray. Who does that? It was rainy & cool during our stay so we enjoyed a fire without the mess of wood. This is a wonderful place to stay. I do wish they provided on site breakfast. Not thrilled to have to leave the Inn for breakfast, but not such a big issue to keep me from staying there again.

The English Merchant Inn is a wonderful place to stay. All the amenities you could think of in a beautifully maintain home. The owner, Howard Baskins, is a great host. We have stayed here several times in the past as we do an annual bike ride “Tour D’ Italia” each year. Unfortunately, do to the early start of the ride we have not experienced breakfast. However we plan to stay two nights next year. The town of Waxahachie is quiet and lots of Beautiful homes in the surrounding neighborhood. Excellent restaurants are also near by.

Such a cute bed in breakfast! Howard is very nice and greeted us when we arrived! He also told us the history of the property!

The value is excellent for both the bedroom and sitting room. We enjoyed the British decor.

The room was amazing! Howard was amazing, he text prior to our arrival and gave us a tour of the place. It’s so beautiful inside! We can’t wait to come back and stay!

It's just lovely. The decor and the attention to detail where remarkable. Felt like we were somewhere completely different. We had a great nights sleep. Howard and Mary are so sweet and accommodating. We had dinner at the Parlour and it was wonderful. Eddie and Dulce took such good care of us.

My husband and I loved this place. The owner, Howard, is very kind and attentive. The home is beautifully decorated and very peaceful. We were able to park our car and walk to dining and shopping. Excellent location. We highly recommend the English Merchant. We will be back!

This bed and breakfast was a delightful find in Waxahachie. Howard, the owner, was very friendly and gracious. My husband and I stayed in the cottage and found the place to be quite comfortable. We enjoyed the Keurig for tea and thought the main house was very well decorated and comfortable. This place is very inviting. It was nice to have 3 options to choose from around town where to have breakfast. My favorite was the White Rhino Coffee. However, I do want to mention that the train was very loud during our stay and I was left incredibly sleep deprived on the last night, before needing to wake up early for our flight the next morning. (Yes the train goes all day and all night and is very loud). This is not The English Merchant's Inn's fault but would recommend you bring ear plugs so you can have a restful sleep.

Great host. It was our first time using B&B. What a great experience. Room was massive. House itself is spectacular. Walking distance for the entire town. Highly recommend

Our stay at the English Merchant's Inn was very nice. The house is quite charming with a little whimsy thrown in. We stayed in the Cottage which was private and clean. The bed was comfortable with a nice assortment of pillows and the sheets were heaven. It was a great Get away. We will definitely be back.

We loved our quick getaway to this Inn! Beautiful & historic. Love the white rhino coffee & breakfast. Plus the neighborhood has lots of historic homes so the walking was lovely too!

what a treasure! Comfortable, charming. The owners are amazing and friendly. Comfortable bed, good coffee, easy walk to a nice restaurant. We recommend staying here if you want to treat yourselves and get away from reality for a bit.
