It’s within walking distance to many touristic places

We arrived late and tired. The owner was so welcoming. I needed cash. It was after dark and I was nervous about walking on my own to the bank. Her son in law walked me there and back. I had Wi-Fi problems. They helped me with that. Helped me order food delivery.

We had a great stay at Lava House! Owners were friendly and helpful. We originally booked one night stay before our cruise but end up coming back after for our last 2 nights as well. Rooms were nice/clean. Shampoo/conditioner and towels were provided. Good hot water. WiFi was not great in room and decent in main area but that seems to be all over the Galapagos. Free breakfast and was one of the better ones on our trip. Fresh water as well which is a bonus! Definitely recommend!

This has been the most perfect stay of my life. The property is located in the center of everything (the Port, restaurants, pharmacy and medical services, banks, among others. The staff completely understands what the guests need. Breakfast is very flexible in the menu, on-time, and exquisite. For families and couples, the property is perfect. We are planning to go back next year. Congrats!

Good friendly people and nice rooms with AC.Bed & breakfast type of accommodation with big beds. Average breakfast, quite basic. But courteous when needing very early breakfast (before 7am). Water provided.Because this is a family hostel, expect some noise from the familys conversations in the evening. It was a bit annoying because we were waking up 6.30am (scuba, island hoping) - we did not complain because the owners are very nice people.Payment only in cash which was weird for a hotels.com registered hotel.

Really great value and helpful. Helpful not only with regular things like tours and taxis, but also advice on coping with changes in vacation plans due to Government actions and protests. Plan to return.

The staff is very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Super good place to stay - comfortable and clean and well-located!

Friendly. Accommodating. Easy. Definitely recommend for travelers looking for a clean place with AC and friendly staff. Breakfast included was tasty and simple, and fresh made. I didn't realize we pay the hostel directly upon arrival- I thought I had paid Expedia, but I double checked with Expedia and on my credit card activity, and that's how it works. Wifi is slow, but it's slow everywhere in Galapagos- so I don't consider that a negative. The host was friendly and very helpful. I also appreciate that the location was NOT in the heart of town to create some distance from noise. I also felt very safe at this place.

Hospitality Excellent!! Property is beautiful! Room was big, beds very comfortable, nice breakfast, great location, but the very best is the presence of the owner. She is the ultimate.

We stayed here 3 days in December 2017. It was a nice place, our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. It is a bit of a walk (about 10 minutes) from the center but it is a nice walk. Plus tour companies pick you up from your hotel and if you are really tired you can take a cab for a few dollars. The hotel provides a nice breakfast which is included in the price and it is freshly made every morning when you show up at the community room. You can tell it is a family operated hotel and people are very friendly and helpful. The only potential concern for non-Spanish speaking people is that they do not always have somebody in the office who speaks English. That wasn't a problem for us as we did not have any urgent issues, we just went back and took care of what we needed to but if you have an urgent problem that could be an issue. Also, we booked this hotel through Expedia which typically means your credit card is charged and the room is paid. But for this hotel the credit card was used only to hold the reservation and we needed to pay after we arrived. Like a lot of other businesses/restaurants/hotels in the Galapagos islands, there is a significant credit card fee so it would be a good idea to bring cash with you if you want to avoid the fee. Overall we were very happy with our stay and we liked the family and rest of the staff we interacted with. We recommend this place.

Great stay at the Lava House. Very clean with beautiful grounds. Just as pictured.

We had a very nice stay at Lava House Hostel. Isabel, the owner, is incredibly sweet and did everything possible to make us comfortable, despite our language barrier. The location of the hotel is a bit removed from the center of town, but about a 15 minute walk to the Port. Being off the main road led to a quiet nights sleep every night, but we didnt factor in the need to carry our bags down to the port to transfer between islands (our fault!). We also tried to pay by credit card, but their machine wasnt working, so we ended up spending most of our cash on our stay. My card worked fine elsewhere on the island, so I would be prepared to have some extra cash on hand if staying here. Otherwise the accommodations are just as pictured online.
