Its proximity to the historical site makes it very convenient. While it was excellent for a one-night stay, it feels more like a guesthouse than a hotel. The homemade breakfast was exceptional and will likely leave a lasting impression.

Beautiful gem of a hotel. Management and staff were friendly and helpful. Location very convenient. Lovely patio and pool. Room was spectacular. Coffee making in room but always coffee or tea plus cake downstairs. TV had English news plus Netflix. Best hotel of our month long trip.

This is the BEST hotel I’ve EVER stayed at! From the service to the decor, everything is absolutely perfect. It was such a nice place to return to after visiting sites all day. If you stay at this hotel, I promise you won’t be sorry.

This hotel is a beautiful oasis of calm. Stepping through the front door into the garden pool area after a day of sightseeing was pure Heaven! And the rooms: Turkish tiles and beautiful details everywhere, topped off with the most comfortable bed. We loved our stay! Highly recommend.

This is a beautiful property with a wonderful staff! My wife and I booked a night stay here last minute after a day of touring Ephesus and we could not have been happier. The room was lovely. The pool was excellent and refreshing. Finally, breakfast was outstanding!

Absolutely wonderful hotel, a few minutes away from the ruins at Ephesus and Temple of Artemis. We had to leave before breakfast but the staff still got us tea and some breakfast cakes. They were super friendly and made a great reservation for us at a nearby restaurant. We will definitely go back.

From the minute we went through the door our reaction was wow! It looks amazing and proved to be just that exactly. The staff were so kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast eggs were freshly cooked and the jasmine perfumed the air. A lovely experience and our best accommodation experience in Turkey. We stayed in 6 different hotels and this was our absolute favourite.

Walking through the gate into the property was like walking into a beautiful garden. The room was like a museum with family heirlooms framed on the walls between exquisite carpets. The ambiance and attention to detail cannot be overlooked. Such a treasure and pleasure from staff and owners. I felt like I was in a home away from home. ❤️

A little oasis behind a big wooden door - surrounded by ancient sites. After a hot day hiking and inspecting Roman and Byzantine sites, it was glorious to retreat to Akanthus. We loved this hotel and its pool, relaxing chairs overlooking the valley, and our room with a view. If we could snap our fingers, we’d be back.

This hotel is a true oasis. Once inside you feel transported into a different world. The smell of jasmine, the beautiful pool, the lovely staff all make this a truly exceptional place to stay and relax. The manager, Soner, is possibly the most genuinely positive and friendly person I’ve ever met. If you are going to Selcuk then stay here.

If you are planning to visit the ruins at Ephesus, or the home of The Virgin Mary, you can’t go wrong with the Akanthus Hotel.
We drove our rental car from Izmir, and easily found the hotel where we were warmly greeted by their wonderful staff.
The room was first rate, and the proximity to the ruins makes visiting effortless.
Breakfast was very nice, and the property has a cozy feel that made us want to stay longer and visit again in the future.
We really enjoyed our time in Ephesus, and it was made even better by the staff and hotel at Akanthus.

We absolutely loved this hotel. Muharrem was the kindest host who took care of all our needs. He arranged airport transfers, made recommendations and reservations at two excellent restaurants both about 4-5 minute walks from the hotel and engaged the most knowledgeable guide for a whole day of touring the Ephesus historical site. The hotel is quiet and comforting with soft music playing in the background and complimentary cake and coffee/tea available all day. The room was spotless and the property lovingly displays rugs and artifacts. The breakfast is excellent with eggs cooked perfectly as you choose and fresh fruit, breads and jams and cheeses. Every staff member was professional, helpful and smiling. Watching the sunset from the pool deck with a cup of Turkish tea was totally relaxing after a day of touring. We were so sad that our schedule did not permit an extension of a couple more days.

I really, really enjoyed my stay at Akanthus Hotel. The owner and all members of the staff were extraordinarily friendly and helpful. They are very attentive to guests and offer information about restaurants and nearby activities. The grounds were small but very comfortable and beautiful. There is a great pool in the garden, surrounded by flowers and plants. An oasis. My room on the second floor was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Breakfast was great. The hotel offers cake and tea/coffee throughout the day and evening, as well. This is a fine hotel near Ephesus. I highly recommend it.

This gorgeous hotel, designed and built by its architect owner, provided us an extraordinary hotel experience. The staff and owner did all they could do to make our visit to Ephesus enjoyable. They gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and sight-seeing destinations, and were available 24 hours per day to address any additional needs we had. We cannot recommend the Akanthus more highly.

This is the only place to stay in Selcuk. Very nice rooms and the service was great. Soner and Muharrem were exceptional hosts and really go above and beyond. Great morning breakfast, awesome views, convenient location.

What an extraordinary boutique hotel!
I wished I could’ve stayed longer. The setting, on a hill overlooking the valley is perfect, and the short walk into the old town center is easy. You were surrounded by history, but the hotel itself, the pool, and rooms are modern and extremely comfortable. Close attention is paid to every design element and everything is just beautiful. Also, the staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Highly recommend!!

Hotel Akanthus was wonderful. It's in a great location from which you can easily reach any of the main tourist attractions in Selcuk. The hotel itself is at the end of a quiet street, and my room was immaculate. R=The staff was friendly and eager to support me, and the breakfast was amazing. I would definitely stay here again!

Great stay at Akanthus. The owner is super nice. The rooms are big and clean. Right in the middle on Selçuk. We rook a guided tour arranged by the hotel with Apasas travel ( ask for Gùl as a guide) well worth it.

It is indeed a home away from home. You can really feel "at home" when you step into Akanthus. Rooms are clean and nice. The whole place is nicely decorated. Breakfast is always good and fresh from the market. Location is close to everything. Everyone in the hotel is very helpful, nice and accommodating. Thank you very much to Muharrem, Soner and the rest of the staff. We enjoyed our stay that we had to extend. I highly recommend this place!

I really enjoyed my stay. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The bed was very soft. The room was extremely clean. Very close to restaurants and shops. Very close to the Bus Station, Taxi Stands, and ATMs. I did take a cab to Ephesus because the walk was a little long - but I didn't mind. I opted to stay an extra night and the staff was extremely accommodating to my request.

We loved this hotel! The owners were on site and very hands on and accommodating. The staff was delightful and super helpful with dining suggestions, reservations, etc. We also appreciated the owner/staff input on sights that were must-see places we might have missed otherwise. Breakfast buffet options were lovely and delicious! Pool and terrace areas were beautiful including lovely views. So many thoughtful and artistic touches in rooms and public areas with genuine artifacts artfully displayed throughout. Great and comfortable beds and great shower with nice sink and counter spaces. Excellent dining options and walkability, but in very quiet location. A real haven. Loved our stay!

I can’t recommend this place highly enough. It’s like an Italian villa in the countryside. The highest quality everything, including the folks who run it. The rooms are spacious, the most comfortable beds and pillows of the whole trip, and a healthy and filling breakfast.

In one word this place is absolutely wonderful, if you are visiting Ephesus , this stay is a must . Spacious bedroom, comfortable bedding , spot less clean everywhere you look . The grounds are beautifully decorated and just beautiful combination of Turkish design and modern look. The breakfast was best we had in Turkey , off the chart .staff friendly , owner is welcoming and friendly . Only thing was we only stayed one night , wish we could stay longer . An absolute Gem.

Our family had an amazing few night stay at Akanthus Boutique Hotel. First, the owner was phenomenal and treated us like family. The 2 rooms we had were very nice and as shown in the pictures. The breakfast was very good and they had a daily cake available for snacking with coffee/ tea/ water all day. The patio and pool area are lovely with a beautiful view - we wish we had more time to spend just relaxing there. The hotel also arranged a day tour of Ephesus for us with Apasas Travel, the tour was top notch with a superlative tour guide. We highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again for a longer time.
