Hotel is clean. Efficient check in. They even gave us beauty care products like face masks and moisturizers. Room is tight but it is to be expected. There is no closet space. The washroom is spacious and really nice. Main qualms about this hotel is that the location is a bit far from the Hakata station. There's not much happening in the vicinity of the hotel. The other major thing is the noise from the trains. This is not the hotel for you if you are a light sleeper.

Toilet is big. About 1.5 size of small toilet in Japan. Staff are nice and breakfast is so fresh! I will stay again next time

small room, near train station, clean room

Good location. Truly near Hakata Station (over at OIOI / Kitte Mall entrance), just a very short walk. But, hotel is near railway tracks, could affect light sleepers.

Clean, fresh and convenient to train station, Breakfast was good but change and variety would be nice.

it’s hard to locate if you are not familiar with hakata station, but once you’ve got there you would be fine. exit from hankyu hakata near jo malone’s booth and the hotel is straight ahead (five minute walk). although it is near to the tracks it is quiet. it is also a sweet and warm hotel that they provide skincare necessities to female customers, it is just too amazing

Easy accessibility to shopping, food and transport

The hotel is located in a quiet area and within walking distance from the Hakata station where you can take the MRT and JR trains. The bus terminal isn't too far away as well. Tons of shopping places and great eating places, oh and if you love Daiso, there's one on top of the bus terminal on level 8. The room was on the small side, but is always immaculately cleaned. For late night snacks or emergency supplies, there are at least 3 convenience stores within walking distance.

We enjoyed our first stay in Shizutetsu so much that we cancelled a different hotel booking and returned to Shizutetsu on our return from a trip to Beppu. Location is less than 10 minutes from Hakata Station, hotel is very new, clean and staff were courteous. Room is small but very pleasant and had all amenities. It should be noted that rooms face the train tracks. However, two things happened that can be improved. First, we were an hour early when we checked in at 2 p.m. While we were waiting in the lobby, there was a sudden strong stink of excretion. The hotel staff said it was due to some pipes. We requested for a room immediately but were told we have to wait, even though by then it was 2:40 pm, just 20 minutes to go before the official check in time. In the end, we went out for a walk and drink. The second thing that happened was we requested for a taxi to the airport the night before departure. At midnight, a staff told us she couldn't get a taxi for 5:30 a.m. We told her to please keep trying. We have never encountered a situation where hotel staff couldn't get us a taxi. At 5:02 a.m., we were woken by a call that the taxi would be waiting for us at 5:10 a.m! We rushed to get ready and got to the taxi at 5:15 a.m. 8 minutes to get ready?? There’s brushing of teeth, changing, checking out, last minute packing...it was just so unreasonable!

This was my second time to stay in this hotel in half a year. The service was very nice and the staff were helpful and polite. A little bit noisy for the rooms facing railway.

Great bathroom. Separate toilet, basin and Japanese bath with small chair to sit on when soaping. Toilet washlet had additional cleaning after flushing so you could see that the sprayer was clean. Breakfast was great—good bread and service. Miso soup was not too strong but tasty and with lots of vegetables. Good coffee available in lobby. I would definitely stay here again.

Just a few minutes walk from JR station. Room is surprisingly spacious, with separate toilet and shower (onsen style washing area and tub). Great breakfast with many local dishes and ingredients. Price was reasonable. Will definitely book again.

Good hotel

The hotel is perfectly located nearby the train station (around 5-7 mins walk). The room is a bit small but very comfortable. The staff is also helpful even they can't speak perfect English - there is no problem to communicate at all.

The room is clean and well equipped with all we need. The location is great where Hakata station is just 5-8 minutes away. It is not noisy even the railway is close to the hotel.

Negatives: if you get a room on the side of the building facing the train tracks you will hear the trains, not nice. bed wasn't very comfortable. room was on the smallish side - but this is usual for Japan.
