Very useful location and very helpful staff. Room are ok but cannot open windows to get fresh air and many room have no view whatsoever.

Rooms are very similar to the other Mimaru hotels and of very good quality. Bed linen was very clean. Did notice some stains on the sofas that could be cleaned better.
The washer/dryer in each room is very convenient, though its drying capacity is pretty low, so you probably need to wash daily if coming with a family.
Staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Excellent location and connectivity. Lots of dining options as well as supermarket closeby, and a convenience store practically next door. Only a short walk to the Karasuma Oike station of the Karasuma line, which is only a couple of stops away from the main Kyoto station including the Shinkansen. The Karasuma line can also be used to directly reach Nara.
Nijo Castle is walking distance. Kiyomizu-dera is also a single bus ride away.
Overall, I would stay again.

Loved our stay at Mimaru. The staff were all very helpful. There’s a Family Mart that is really close by and lots of dining options around the area. The room is big enough for our family of 4. I would recommend this place and would love to stay here again in the future.

Spacious room. Good layout with bunk beds for the kids and a nice big table in the kitchen. Main areas were very clean, but less-used corners, such as the framing on the upper bunk bed had a thick layer of dust. Carpet and sofa were clean but tired-looking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent location to the main sites.`

Excellent hotel! Close to everything, Family Mart, train station, Nijo Castle, Nishiki Market, numerous dining options….. super convenient. Safe, clean area and the hotel has a very helpful and friendly staff. They assisted me with filling out paperwork to ship my check-in size bags to the next hotel and even called my hotel in Tokyo to confirm they can receive my bag! Great job Mimaru Kyoto Hotel staff!
The only negative is the washer/dryer combo didn’t work very well. The dryer function took several hours and the clothes were still wet despite putting only 2 pieces of clothing in there. But overall I highly recommend this hotel. We will definitely book this hotel again.

Stayed in a family room with 2 adults and 2 teenagers (who stayed in the bunk bed). Very comfortable room. Loved having washing machine in our room, although dryer function wasn’t the greatest - we just hung clothes around the room to dry and it worked perfectly. Easy walk (8min max) to subway station. Will happily stay here again!!

Mimaru is an excellent place to stay in Kyoto. It is only three subway stops from Kyoto Stdtion and it is in a very quiet area. It has exceptional amenities and our room was impeccably clean and very comfortable. There is a Family Mart about 30m from the front entrance. Highly recommended.

Very nice place, friendly staff and great location. The only weird thing is that the windows have the privacy stickers on them, so you cannot see things out and you don't have full natural light going through.
If you care about that you should request a room looking at the front street as those windows are not obscured.

We had a great experience from checkin to check out. Location was fantastic, a short walk to Gion district. The service was great. They even put all of our luggage from Yamato shipping into our room before we checked in. Alice at the front desk was especially helpful. We are now in Osaka at another Mimaru property

We loved everything about this hotel. The location is perfect and we walked to most places. The beds were really comfortable, the sheets were crispy clean, and the space was great. Loved the small kitchen, the bathroom facilities were perfect and there was a table to sit at as well. I can't say enough about the staff who were so helpful and attentive. I would definately recommend staying here - we were sad to leave!

Conveniently located within walking distance to major subway line & bus stops, but nicely tucked in a quiet interior street.
Close to Family Mart convenience store. Many interesting dining places & options in the locality.
Clean, ample spaced, and with a washer-dryer too. Staff are friendly and English proficient (most staff are foreigners too).
The area is pretty safe, as in most of Japan. We did not see any suspicious beings, urban blight, or such. Local area is a nice community, and the houses one passes by are humble, but maintained well. Streets are clean with nary a litter.

The property was near by local markets and restaurants. We were able to walk to different locations and felt safe doing so. Staff was nice, friendly and welcoming.

The staff and the company has gone above and beyond to make you feel at home. One of the front desk crew members walked with my wife to a nearby restaurant to help getting a reservation. Another staff member ran looking for us after we had left the hotel to get lunch, to confirm an extension for our stay. To keep the review short, every interaction we had with their staff was beyond expectations. I work in the travel industry and this was truly a legendary experience.

very nice and spacious hotel- would definitely recommend for a family or a party of three or more. the staff were so friendly & helped us to call a taxi. they also offered umbrellas for us to borrow when it was pouring out, and i believe they rent out bicycles as well. a bit of a walk from the hustle and bustle of the main roads, but if you prefer that, this would be perfect. would love to stay here again in the future!

This is a great budget option for families. The washer/dryer in the room was a big plus for us. The apartment was a little tight for a family of four (two teenagers) but perfectly fine given how little time we spent at the hotel.

Very comfortable, modern, and clean. Super kind and helpful staff fluent in English. Great for families. Walkable to many restaurants. The only thing to note is you only get a full room cleaning (making beds, vacuuming, etc) on the 4th night of your stay. Other than that, the daily service just includes trash removal and replacing towels/toilet paper. We would definitely choose this venue if we return!

I loved it all. Staff was very accommodating and patient since we don’t speak Japanese. The rooms were excellent and so clean. Spacious too for Japan and I enjoyed the old feel of a Japanese tatami mat bed too.
I appreciated that they kept our luggage for we didn’t depart until the afternoon and with heavy luggage it would have been difficult and tiring.
Thank you for all the special touches. This was my first time with your hotel and I will make sure to find your accommodations worldwide.

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was a decent size, although in hindsight, we should have chosen a non Japanese room, as the kids would have liked the bunk beds better. That said, it was comfortable and had everything we needed. It’s in quite a good location; lots of shops and restaurants nearby and not far from the big sites. The staff there were very good - always keen to help and they kindly helped us with our luggage transfer. The only negative was that we had issues with the washing machine - first it made the clothes smell horrid, then it wouldn’t dry them. The hotel kindly lent us another machine but they still take HOURS to wash and dry (over four hours to dry clothes alone). If you are wanting to do washing, start it early and be patient. There’s no magical spirit to this hotel but it’s a good option for the area, especially if you have children. There’s a family mart almost next door and there is an amazing bakery around the corner (Fiveran) that we only discovered on our last day, but then visited twice to take goodies on our journey. If you’re going by subway to the hotel, get off at exit 4.

It is a new property with a kitchen, washer/dryer and separate living area from the bedroom. Our room was set up for 4 people so it can easily accommodate families traveling together. I would stay here again for sure. Very good value for money.

This was a lovely, quiet and spacious property. We appreciated the laundry facilities and extra space! It was super clean and the staff very polite and responsive. To make this even better a breakfast option offer would have made this an ideal stay.
