Island Guesthouse is perfect for your accomodation right in the center of Il Gzira, and very near the harbour-boulevard (The Strand) The service is excellent and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was large, had air-condition, micro-oven, electric kettle and an unlimited supply of coffee and tea. Housekeeping every day. All in all a very pleasant stay and very, very good value for money. I would definitely recommend Island Guesthouse any day.

Easy access, nice and clean

Great location for dining out and bus routes and easy access to Valetta. We arrived late and received excellent email instructions about access in the room after the foyer was locked. However some details could have been better, like the opening windows in the room didn't fit the frames well and rattled in the wind at night (temporary fix was easy but should not have been necessary). Overall good value though. Beware that most of this part of Malta is currently a buiding site.

The staff are very welcoming and helpful . The property is ideal for a short break, though the place is basic it’s clean and very good place to stay.

I stayed here for over a week and would highly recommend. Great location and value for money, and the staff are lovely and accommodating. Note if staying in the accessible room on the ground floor there is a curtain rather than a door for the bathroom.

The room number six is very clean, wide, new. There is a kitchenette in the room, with fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee, tea, jam, mineral water and fresh bread/croissants daily.The area was great right near the waterfront. We needed to get in touch at dawn and we were promptly answered.100% recommended.

We encountered some issues related to our arrival due to the Hotels.com (possible) irresponsibility, not the guesthouse's. Hotels.com you have to contact the owner immediately after confirming the booking and not to create situations when guests arrive at the place and there is a surprise for them and owner about the present booking. Regarding the guesthouse, perhaps we got unlucky (or not), but the room we got was not in a proper condition to host guests - many spottable cleanliness issues, very heavy and humid air in the room and no door at the bathroom, but a curtain instead. The manager was helpful and cooperative enough so that we can terminate our stay in these unbearable conditions and look for another accommodation.

Overall everything was great!

Did not even stay at this property, they decided to tell me that my room had storm damage. No significant storms in Malta for 12 years it appears. They then relocated me to a property that was sub-standard into a room category that failed to match what I booked. Could not be more disappointed with this property.

Had an early arrival were able to assist as well as assist with how to get back to airport quicker. Thomas was very good and most helpful

The location was great and hosts were helpful. Many good restaurants are near. Highly recommended.

Firstly, the self-check in process was seamless. The room was thoroughly cleaned before our arrival. There were coffee, milk and fresh food waiting for us. Adrian was extremely helpful and provided us with everything we needed during the stay.

We arrived after midnight and so the self check in. Was no problem with the instructions we received. The room was comfortable and clean. Great for a short stay.

Nice guesthouse in an area with plenty of restaurants. Staff are not always physically present, but are always reachable by phone and WhatsApp and make a great effort to make you feel welcome and (proactively) help with everything you may need. The (5-minute) ferry to Valletta is a 10-minute walk away, or you can take a bus or taxi.

Location is great, many shops and cafes nearby, a beautiful marina and easy access to public transport (Valetta is 10 mins by bus and St Julians also very close). If you drive there is plenty of free public parking space. Chris who manages the property and his staff were very friendly and helpful with anything we needed, making us feel very welcome and safe. Think the guesthouse was practically new. Our room was great. Everything was of high quality, towels, bed linen etc. Room was spacious. Breakfast area was lovely. Location was perfect. Near to the front, bus stop 3 minutes away so you could get everywhere you wanted to go using local transport. Including ferries to valetta and boat trips. Didn't realise that breakfast was included!! Every morning we had a fresh loaf of bread, couple of bread rolls and chocolate croissants. Milk, butter and jams and fresh juice and fruit all provided and replaced when necessary. Room cleaned every day. Really a great place to stay and would highly recommend. Would suggest the following: extra pillows, somewhere to dry the towels and some chairs for the balcony (tho we were here early in the season so perhaps these will be added).

Very helpful staff. Spotlessly clean. Modern shower and bathroom. Excellent WiFi. The guesthouse is in a residential area a two minute walk from the seafront with numerous bars & restaurants. As it's in a busy area occasionally a bit of noise is heard, but not much.
