The most friendly staff with a great location! Walking distance to many sites, restaurants and public transit. Nice rooms that had good facilities and hang out spaces.

I have stayed at more than 300 hotels across the US, Europe and Africa and this was by far my worst experience simply because of the manager. I booked a “2 bedroom” with a living area for my travel buddy and myself. We arrived at night, exhausted. When I gave him my name to check in, he informed me that he emailed hotels.com to refund me because I would need to pay him directly with the correct pricing. Thankfully I had the local currency on me and intended to pay directly when I booked the room, otherwise I would have been left to search for new accommodations late at night. He insisted the price was more than double as advertised on hotels.com and kept showing me his listing on bookings.com with the “accurate” price. He claimed that he took over this hotel one week prior (Which simply isn’t true) and had nothing to do with the hotels.com listing. Thankfully my travel buddy is Tunisian and speaks fluent Arabic/Moroccan because otherwise I would have gotten nowhere with this manager. He did not care whatsoever about the situation he was creating. He takes advantage of people coming in tired and vulnerable to swindle them out of money. Bad business! As if that’s not enough, the “2 bedroom” flat I booked ended up being just a hostel style dorm. My travel buddy and I had no privacy and I had to teach my classes from the bathroom to avoid waking everyone up. There was not a blanket for my bed and when i went to ask for one there were literally 2 children “on duty” - at midnight.

DO NOT GO TO THIS RIAD! I READ SOME OF THE REVIEWS BUT DIDNT THINK THE SAME THING WOULD HAPPEN TO US. MY FAMILY AND I ARRIVED AT 1 AM. THE PERSON WORKING THERE WAS A SLEEP AND WHEN WE ARRIVED STRAIGHT AWAY HE TELLS ME THAT I DONT HAVE A BOOKING WHEN I DO AND THEN A FEW MINUTES LATER HE TELLS ME THAT THE ROOM ISNT READY BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE IS THERE AND THAT I MUST CANCEL MY BOOKING AND PAY THEM IN CASH. ANOTHER PERSON ARRIVED AT THE SAME TIME AS US AND HE SAID THE SAME THING TO HER SO WE STARTED QUESTIONING HIM AND HE CALLED HIS BOSS I SPOKE TO HIM ON THE PHONE AND HE STARTED YELLING AT ME TELLING ME TO LET HIM GO TO SLEEP. THEN THE WORKER STARTED LAUGHING AT US AND ALSO SPEAKING VERY LOUDLY TELLING US AND THE OTHER GUESS TO SLEEP IN A ROOM FOR 4 PEOPLE WHEN THERES 5 OF US! IT WAS VERY LATE AT NIGHT AND WE WERE TERRIFIED OF THE PERSON WORKING THERE SO WE DECIDED TO JUST GO AND FIGURE SOMETHING OUT BY TOMORROW. THE BEDS WERE SO HARD AND UNCOMFORTABLE THAT WE DIDNT SLEEP THE WHOLE NIGHT. HE GAVE US A BLANKET THAT HE HAD BEEN USING BEFORE WE ARRIVED AND IT WAS STINKY. THE KITCHEN WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND SMELLED TERRIBLE. WE LEFT THE NEXT MORNING AFTER BEING ON THE PHONE TO EXPEDIA FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS. DO NOT GO HERE!

It was a very bad experience. When we came to the hotel we had to sit and wait a long time. After more than 30 minutes the guy at the Hotel told us that our room had some problems with the plumbing. We couldn’t be in the room that night but next night it would be fixed. He told us to move to his “brothers” Hotel for one night. We had booked a Deluxe room, a large room. When we came to the other place, we were offered a tiny room, just in size of a bed in king-size. The room was just in the breakfast area.
At the evening we looked at Hotels.com and our room was still available, free for booking! Next day, when we came back, the two person at the Hotel didn’t know anything about our room or any problem with the plumbing. When they connected us with the guy from the day before he just said “Its still problem with the plumbing. But we could stay at the other place”. We asked about the difference in payments, from a deluxe room to this small room. “That’s not my problem” he said and hangs up the phone.
We had paid for a deluxe room and got a small cabin. During this time it was al the time possible to book a deluxe room at this place.

I recommend you DO NOT stay at Tadla Guest House. Our experience was less than stellar at Tadla Hostel (yes, hostel, as thats what the sign says outside their front door). Although the property is pretty nice (good rooms and nice roof deck) and the included breakfast is good (traditional Maroccan breakfast served in most riads during our travels), the customer service left everything to be desired. We booked and paid through Expedia with our credit card, so we assumed everything was good to go. While driving to Fes we received an odd message from the property saying Hello. Im sorry you can come this message for canceltion not for you thanks. This message made no sense to us, as our reservation still showed as confirmed on the Expedia app and wed received no messages about cancelation, so we continued to the property. When we finally found the property and checked in, the staff made no attempts to collect money from us so we assumed we were all set payment-wise. The next morning we asked the staff to extend our stay one more night, agreed on a price, and I paid them with cash, only to be told that the cash Id just given them would be applied to LAST NIGHT (which wed already paid with our credit card on Expedia) and we needed to now pay them for the added night. They pocketed my cash, insisting that we hadnt paid for the prior night. No longer trusting them, we decided to leave, taking up the issue with Expedia later (and Expedia isnt being much help, either).
