Loved the property. Been thinking about it since I left. I’d be there more if it was closer.

Amazing experience for anyone who may be curious about a slow living lifestyle or wanting to experience something they never have before. Dinner was excellent, staff was superb, the shared spaces were very welcoming, and our nest was quite peaceful.

Just the whole experience! Had a family emergency and didn’t even have a chance to unpack. Explained the situation to the property manager that we desperately had to leave since we were over 3 hrs away from home. No refund provided or anything! Absolutely pathetic!!

The room I had reserved was double booked and now I'm trying to get my refund as it is their fault

Very unique property. We wish there were more “indoor plumbing” bathrooms and fewer outhouses. We did not spend the night because we decided to drive home after our activity ended. Lost River Hostel would be a very good choice for more adventurous travelers

We loved the place the minute we saw it. Very nice friendly people. The place is well taken care of. As close to camping without having to do all the work of setting up a tent. Pathways are nice, just everything is great. Good campfire company.

Open wiring in room.
No chair or table in room.
Friendly accomodating staff. Room was clean and bed was comfortable

I think that the hostel would be a nice place to go in the summer or early fall. The have air conditioning but no heat. The space heater in the room they put us in didn’t work so I went out and bought a new one and we still froze all weekend. They also have a lot of issues with the plumbing. Be ready to leave your stuff in your car because the doors don’t lock.

Definitely not what I thought. Bunch of hipsters run it. They made me & my bf feel uncomfortable. Even got sculded for having phone in quite room of the house upon arrival. Shower outside! Choice of tub on top or shower below. 2 diff.couples before me on morning of check out, so Got only COLD WATER for shower. They don't offer towels. No trash can in room, drafty, cob webs, huge doors that didn't shut all way. NOT PRIVATE. Can hear everyone else in the other rooms. Clothing optional in section of the woods too if u into that. DEFINITELY room for improvements.

IS NOT what is advertised literally a 6x6 room with bunk beds had an outhouse about 100 yards away and a Shower house about 30 yards away literally walked to the room just to turn around and leave

This is definitely an adventure stay. Room with a nature view and a bed. Little trek to the outhouse.

I just can't say enough good things about this experience. This is my third stay and I can't wait to need to stay in the area again. Everytime I stay here I make new friends and meet new people.

It was great to meet other guests and staffers around a campfire. Really unique vibe. Love the eco-friendly and sustainability focus. What a great retreat. Can't wait to see the event center take shape. The rock path to the upper sleeping area could use a little stability work but it is very beautiful.

There was a couple underneath of us that were screaming and fighting and there was a small child in that room as well tried to call and notify someone and no one answered. Our room was dirty no pillowcase on one of the pillows so had to go buy sheets and blankets as the blankets were dirty and had holes in them

Good: I liked the effort to be especially eco-friendly. The folks there grow a lot of their own food and do a lot of communal meals. The staff were super nice and even helped me pack my luggage down the trail to the cabin. There were cool activities like an art room and a little library on site. Not great: I'm a heavy-set person (220 lbs) and I don't see so well at night. My room (gorgeous as it was) was on the second floor, which wouldn't have been a problem except I had to climb jagged stones up a steep hill to get there and cross a the wooden bridge that seemed to sag a bit under my weight. The outhouse was down the hill. I usually don't mind an outhouse, but this one had two high steps to the seat inside the outhouse itself. I could barely reach the top to sit.I traveled alone, so I was disappointed to see that the only security measure for my room was an eye-hook, which I could only latch from the inside.

I can't say enough about how amazing this week was for me. The vibe of this place and the amazing staff and fellow guests were very fulfilling. I needed to unplug and shake things up from my usual roadside hotel stay when working out of town and this was exactly what I got. Somewhere between a camping experience and a crashing at your buddies house experience. Dinner starts with a gratitude circle and ends with a great hangout. Lost river is essentially a phone free dinner party every night with a rotating cast. This place draws in like minded folk and you will come a visitor but leave a friend. I definitely WILL be back!

We didn’t end up staying the night. We thought we were getting cute bungalow in woods and it was closet with bunk beds. Nowhere did it say bunk beds. It was all out houses unless u walk to main house to use bathroom where staff lives. Says comes with refrigerator and microwave but u have to walk to main house for that. No heat in room it’s a space heater. The staff was very nice and property was nice but not for us. We left and went to hotel.
