My husband and I are both architects. We booked this place randomly, and had no idea the owner was an architect. The Store is an amazing home! It is a beautiful work of architecture with an incredible attention to detail. We normally don't hang out much where we stay, but this time we didn't want to leave. Sitting outside by the Koi pond was wonderful!

This is my third stay at The Store in Raleigh and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. The property has been beautifully designed by a master architect and is rich in details. The vibe is peaceful and modern. John, the proprietor, is friendly, knowledgeable, and it is clear that he has put thought into every detail of the experience. There is a screened porch and koi pond. Book the King Suite for a truly enjoyable experience. It is spacious and has an amazingly big shower complete with a stereo system. There are so many amenities available. I will definitely stay again when I am in Raleigh!

Stayed here for a 1 night getaway with my husband. The Innkeeper, John, was welcoming and informative. The accommodations were gorgeous and well appointed. The King Suite had an awesome bathroom which featured a large walk in shower with 2 shower heads including a rain shower. There were even speakers throughout the unit, in the sleeping area and the bathroom, this was an unexpected bonus! Outdoor areas are well manicured and offer a variety of fresh herbs, fruit and veggies. The common spaces are spacious and allow for a relaxing lounge experience. The one and only thing that may bother some people is the creaking of the hardwood floors but this is part of the charm of an historic space and was not an issue for us. It is clear John has put a lot of thought into this space and created a unique experience to share with visitors to the area. I highly recommend a stay in this beautiful 2 unit property!

Architecture aficionados will greatly appreciate this property. It is stunning, and comfortable. Also, it is centrally located near many great bars and restaurants in walking distance. I stayed here two nights and wish I could have booked the entire month. The Store is a small boutique hotel with only two rooms with full baths. Every detail is impeccable. It was also one of the most comfortable beds I had ever stayed. The hotelier thought of every possible thing to make guests feel at home. My room had a TV, fridge and microwave. There were plenty of phone charging stations in my room, as well a bowl of wrapped snaps, a Keurig coffee machine, lens cleaner, ear plugs, an eye mask, ironing board and spray starch. My bathroom was fully stocked with any and everything I could have asked for, including luxury shampoo (Virtue). It was very easy access and parking was just on the street. I had very little interaction with the other guests, it’s very private and a quiet place to do computer work. The Store was built in 1915 and has a marvelous history. The owner of the hotel was extremely knowledge about the area and gave suggestions of his favorite places (a rather long and much appreciated list), he also provided a map and magazine where he had previously highlighted his favorite places in and around the area. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, the owner was a large part of what made my trip to Raleigh so unforgettable. He showed great care to make sure I enjoyed myself. A++++

We really enjoyed our stay at THE STORE. John, the owner, was very knowledgeable and accommodating. The location was great, very close to nearby restaurants and just a hop and a skip from Walnut Creek Amphitheater (which was our reason for visiting Raleigh). We would definitely stay here again. Oh and ps. The bed was SUPER comfortable.

Not only was the location perfect for exploring Raleigh but John was absolutely fabulous. When we arrived he gave us recommendations for all the best food in town and he was spot on! Literally every place we went that had his recommendation was delicious. We ventured off his list for a drink and it was a mistake. Once we got back on track with his recommendations the rest of the trip was delightful. Additionally, the accommodations at TheStore were wonderful. He thought of everything from the chargers in the bedroom to a variety of toiletries available for use. 10/10 would stay here again. Thanks John!!

Great stay! We loved meeting the owner and hearing the history. He had thought of everything for our stay including a map to help us explore around downtown. The bed was incredibly comfortable but nothing compares to how amazing the shower was! The whole room was great affordable find! We can’t wait to come back and explore the Cory more.
