didn't have it

The location was quiet and the bar lady/receptionist was friendly
The rooms and hallway were dated, cold and had a damp smell. No evening food was available so we had to go out again for food. The car park had old banger cars stored and the outside of the inn was unkempt.

Easy to find, nice lad working in bar and on check in.
Pub not serving food, not advised of this until after checked in. Mattress rock hard.

Fantastic welcome to a lovely traditional family run inn. Food was lonely too. Everywhere exceptionally clean.
Decor a bit dated but so what?!

Location, cleanliness, friendly staff, comfortable., ample parking. To highlight cleanliness, it was immaculately clean, smelt clean as you entered the room. Bedding and towels were fresh and quality items. The beds were comfortable and offered a full night of sound sleep. We had a lovely stay at the Inn and really cannot identify anything that we would have complained about. Yes it could do with some upgrading, but that did not detract from our stay.
This is very subjective. The rooms need updating. This is a very old country pub/inn and has to be viewed in that light. But some general improvement in the bathroom would not go amiss. The bedroom area was fine, but plumbing and bathroom fixtures and fittings need replacing to add a more robust and quality feel.

Staff very friendly, food very good. Standard of cleanliness very good.
Rooms are very tired, need renovation.
Shower almost non existent, very unsatisfactory.
Pillows uncomfortable, bedding clean but very rough against the skin.

Located in the countryside with lovely walking routes.
Live music in the inn's pub was nice and the crowd was friendly.
The room was old, in a poor state and didn't look clean. Too costly for a twin room at 120 pounds a night.

The bar staff were helpful... but extremely busy. The room was far enough away from the bar. The food was ok. Large car park.
I was questioned by a man at the bar about the TV in my room.
I earlier reported it as faulty. he said "Well it was working last weekend"
So I showed him a photo I took.
All I was trying to get mended.
I was given a TV aerial lead by the cook, to mend it myself, unfortunately that didn't work either.
So watched TV on my iPad.
I was offered a different room.
I did tell them I was going for a walk and would be back in 30 minutes.
Unfortunately no one came on my return.
The gentleman who sat at the bar didn't introduce himself, so what his role is I have no idea..
The staff were busy and under pressure.
So I didn't make a fuss.
I was made to feel that I was a nuisance.
But all I wanted was to watch Eurovision.

That's an authentic family-run Inn, only adopted in nowadays. The owner/chef is a little stiff and strict, but gets really friendly and pleasant when she gets to know you. Also, she's very accommodating in regard of individual culinary preferences, as long as she can matchg them, with the ingredients she has available (asked for a big green salad, she didi something quite close and tasty!...).
Her son, also bartender, is a very good fellow, nice to chat with him at the bar, while sipping down traditional ales from the nearby local producers...-:)
Sorry, forgot now both your names guys, I'll make up next time that I'll be there!...-:)
The wash basin in the bathoom has still the trad. Brit. 2-tap separated (Hot/Cold) thing!.... Come one guys, who's filling up the wash basin for washing his hands and face nowadys ???....-:)))

What a lovely quaint pub and hotel. The room is perfect for the overnight stay that we needed. We had a couple of drinks in the pub which is a beautiful 1600s old English pub and to top it off the owners could not have been more accommodating. We will definitely be back with the family for something to eat.

Authentic, traditional pub. Well accommodated for by the lovely staff. Very clean rooms
Slightly dated decor in the rooms, but still very clean and well kept

Didn’t have breakfast. Room had old electric heater, but it worked. Bathroom had towel heater which worked.
First impression of room number 9 - cold, dingy, old fashioned, beds uninviting. In need of serious updating to be more inviting and worthy of £100 per night. The bed was uncomfortable with well worn flat pillows. The bathroom shower wasn’t up to standard with just a dribble of water coming out.

The place is very quiet and cosy. Very close to Stansted Airport, which is why we booked it for an early flight. You have a garden, a yard and a car park at your disposal. You can serve a nice steak in the evening and have a few drinks. The room was spacious, the bathroom even had a bath tub. Heater was there for us to use. The hosts were very nice people that looked after us both in the evening and also in the morning for breakfast. Don't expect anything extravagant for dinner, it's mostly fried stuff but nicely done.
