This is my second trip to Bergwelt Grindelwald in the past two years and I must say it’s the best hotel in Grindelwald for sure. The amenities are excellent and the rooms are very unique. Extremely clean. I had a few minor complaints on my most recent trip but the staff, specifically Panagiotis went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. I would definitely stay here again

very good hotel in a very nice town, good food, best location, however - no air condition. the hotel offered "cooling system" which only made noise and not cool air. lucky the weather outside was fine....

Property looks great and some staff is good. But the property lacks several things because of which I wouldnt recommend it. - It is not family friendly. No prior heads up regarding limited hours for swim with kids (only for 2 hours around noon when most families are out for tourism) - Unreliable shuttle service. Not guaranteed for a specific time, so basically you def need to have a backup service for the time esp if you have a timed attraction (e.g., I almost missed Jungfrau because I didnt get the shuttle that I reserved 24 hours in advance, and had to then run with baby and her stuff towards the train to catch on time, after waiting for shuttle for 15 mins) - Huge stair case leading to the entrance and there was no email regarding how to enter the property esp if you are arriving with kids/ luggage - Very inconsistent policies? Some staff will hand you water bottles when asked and some will deny rudely? I would have been okay if no one was handing over water bottles to anyone

Good and spa

Beautiful hotel, where one staff really helped us a lot, ensuring we got the best mountain facing room for my birthday, something I had articulated when I purchased a junior suite. I was originally assigned a gorgeous room and a birthday setting was implemented, but when I came to take the keys this front desk lady tried to put me on another less scenic room. The experience was almost ruined due to this front desk lady, she was incredibly rude about our insistence on the room set up for my birthday, questioning my need for said room which I had paid for (not a room upgrade which was implied!). The audacity - I’ve never had this happen in any 4/5 star hotel before and I travel a lot. She started questioning me why I needed it as I didn’t have children (again, I can’t believe she had the audacity to assume and ask!) and tried to imply that I was inconveniencing them as they would now need to do more work. Suffice to say after I showed her my booking (and the extortionate amount I paid for 2 days) she took my passport again (something about that also felt aggressive) and then handed it to the nicer man who helped us - didn’t even address us or apologise. On the whole the rest of the experience was fine. The food was good at breakfast, the location was perfect. I loved the room given too.

Amazing staff , amazing view and location

Lovely hotel in Grindelwald positioned overlooking the Eiger. I appreciated all the thoughtful details: yoga mat available in the room, spa access, beautiful breakfast spread, train station transfers and helpful concierge. Would definitely recommend and/or stay again given the opportunity.

The pros: amazing restaurant, conveniently located, helpful staff The cons: there is no air conditioning so it was incredibly hot at night regardless of fans and windows open and the mattress was awfully firm- my back still hurts from it.

Wonderful stay here. Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean and quiet. The food at breakfast each morning and at the restaurant was great. We also took advantage of the spa amenities having a massage and using the various saunas, steam rooms and pool. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Overall, it's a great, clean, chic looking resort and the breakfast is fabulous and the staff is friendly. However, room comfort is where all the points are deducted. The AC does not work well and at their default setting, it did not feel cool enough even after we requested them to turn the temperature down. The fan is very noisy and kills all the nice ambience of the room. There is not even a single USB wall charger in the entire room. No iron in the room by default, we had to ask for it and it took some time before it was made available.

Loved our stay. Definitely worth the money.

First off- no real AC. They claim there is an AC but you can’t control it from the room. They have the power to turn it up or down for you. That would be somewhat fine if it worked but I’m convinced it’s not a real AC. There’s a sound that comes out of it; but I couldn’t feel any air even when it was supposedly at its highest. For this price point- give me an AC especially when you claim there is one on your website. Ventilation also sucks in general. On top of that, some (not all) of the reception staff seemed to get annoyed when you ask them for a fan bc it’s hot. I get it, most of the year Switzerland mountains don’t need an AC. However, it gets hot in July. I’m from america where we are used to AC’s and when I’m paying $1000 a night, I have a right to expect the temperature to be comfortable especially when you claim you have air conditioning. I wouldn’t have stayed with you had I know the reality of it. Check in process was a mess. They would ask you to wait and then people would cut you. Instead of the staff speaking up and saying those people are first, they would just help someone else. I noticed check in was a mess most of the time we were there. The good things- breakfast is great. View is great and there were some very nice people in their staff.

Very unique property in the middle of the village. Staff were all very friendly and breakfast was awesome. Walking distance to Grindelwald train station that connects to rest of Switzerland. Loved our stay.

This was a beautiful property! Great location and exceptional service! Great dining. A view of the mountains.

The ambience was excellent. It’s very close to first mountain tram. Nice restaurant inside the hotel as well.

The staff were terrific. The rooms were modern and very comfortable, especially compared to typical alpine hotels. The restaurant was great for breakfast and dinner. We didn’t use the spa or gym (too busy hiking in the mountains), but those seemed to be excellent, as well.

Outstanding property. The room was spacious, had an amazing view and was very clean. We loved the design and style of the hotel. All of the staff were extremely nice. We will definitely be back again someday!

Gorgeous property, great rooms, amazing breakfast and restaurant, and incredible spa!

Our stay was lovely but we did feel that the price was a bit high for the overall experience. Highlights included the breakfast (which was fantastic ), the rain shower (in-room), and the swimming pool! That said, we wish it had been communicated beforehand that some of the spa amenities were swimsuit free, as this might have influenced our decision about where to stay.

The attentive service was outstanding! The breakfast as well as the dinner service was great. we had an Eiger view room with balcony (see pic}.You will love this hotel!

It was a fantastic stay. The hotel is beautiful and the room, well furnished. The spa was amazing and we had a wonderful time! Awesome place!

LOVED this property. The staff was so pleasant and eager to please. Everyone was helpful and so personable. It’s close to the train station and town. Location is perfect. The room was beautiful and the complimentary upgrade was exceptional. Would definitely recommend. Oh and the morning breakfast was fantastic! Thank you
