The property was excellent. It had everything we need . Well the bed what can I say I didn’t want to come out from the bed as it was so comfortable. The place was clean.

There’s nothing that we didn’t like as the property was excellent.

Darwen is a lovely authentic cottage. The bathroom was excellent, beds were comfortable. Great kitchen facilities. Lovely lounge...having the fire was really great. Nice long garden and despite the weather we managed to sit out a couple of times.

The freezer being in the shed was a bit of a pain and it was off when we arrived. That's about it really! Oh actually the gas hob kept ticking (stuck igniter) when using.

Lovely garden. Enough space. Convenient to local facilities , good cafe, pubs, Indian restaurant. Host v on hand👍

Low doors not good for a tall person

This was a charming quirky cottage with exposed beams in the ceilings, and a large carpeted lounge. The bedding and towels were high quality. The bathroom was lovely and warm with 2 washbasins, a whirlpool bath and a small separate shower with good water pressure. There was a wonderful coffee machine with a selection of pods in the kitchen and some lovely scented hand gel. The garden was beautifully arranged, narrow but very long with a winding path. We went out with our dog so we could clear up after him, otherwise there would be no idea where he had been! The cottage was lovely and warm with everything provided and we had a very enjoyable stay.

It was impossible to close the doors without making a noise due to the old fashioned latches (important when someone has gone to bed early). When we arrived we could not get a parking spot outside the house and had to park nearby round the corner, however we got a space on subsequent days.

The bed was comfortable.

The property was not clean, there was dust and dirt everywhere. There were items under the beds upstairs, there was a champagne shoot in the main bedroom which was clearly left by a previous guest. The description was not accurate and I felt it was quite misleading. I specifically chose this property as it had a freezer, however when I arrived the freezer wasn’t in the property and was in the shed, which was not detailed on the description. Overall, I would not stay here again.
