Location is very good. we had the terrace room and therefore excellent view of the Sea from bed self. possibly slightly overpriced but appears that most of the places in Pondicherry would be priced like that. They need to do something about the smell that is in the hotel (not in the rooms but in the lobbies and reception area). further, the breakfast they need to ensure is available till the last guest finishes it.

excellent location. the ambiance was amazing. several moments during my stay I forgot I was in India. enjoyed the open air dining experience. met the owner and had an awesome conversation about the history of the building

the only best thing about the property is it’s location right on the promenade.

It’s grossly overpriced otherwise and it’s not value for money . if you are not taking any of the sea facing rooms it’s absolutely not worth booking any other rooms in this hotel . The staff are not entirely accommodative and can be lot more courteous. I had gone for my wife’s birthday and even post knowing the fact , they couldn’t care less to do any bit to make it special. a downer !

The location is the best thing about this place followed by the staff and service. The staff is extremely helpful. Villa Cavi is located in the main area with an amazing beach view. It is 2minutes away walk to Bay of Buddha, a 10 minutes walk to Coromandel cafe and The Spot.

The property is beautiful and the location is great. It’s clean and charming place to stay in.

I buffet breakfast menu was same all days during our stay, which can be made more interesting, although food was tasty.

The bathroom wash basin had a pipe leaking water onto the floor. But the room and stay as a whole were excellent otherwise.

We stayed in one of the Superior Rooms with Sea view balcony. It is just upon the beach providing a facilities to enjoy the beachfront view throughout the stay. The facilities in the room are adequate and of very good quality. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The reception and the housekeeping are excellent. The best part is the location of the property where on one side the full beach front can be enjoyed and on the other side there are many stalls for food and beverages are located. All the important tourist attractions are also within easily approachable range or even reachable on foot.

The approach way near the main entry of the hotel may be a little more cleaner. There were filthy garbage outside the main entry when we arrived at around 3 pm in the afternoon.

Location, chic appearance and decor, friendly staff

Limited items available for breakfast, the hotel was fully booked and staff is not equipped to handle the guests at breakfast efficiently. The breakfast spread was below average for the price we paid! The taste was average to bad, eg the menu vada didn’t have any salt on day 1, the pooris were fried to a crisp or falling apart, the parathas were dry and hard instead of being moist. The staff is helpful but need more support by way of training and SOPs. It’s just a villa, it has no parking, one has to park on the narrow street outside. Lots of bikes are parked there, can be tricky to take one’s car in and out. Bathroom was not cleaned properly, floor has tiles, so it should be vacuumed when being made as sand, dust, hair etc in the floor tends to show up clearly. Plus it’s a beachside hotel, guests bringing in some sand is to be expected Getting water bottles and proper replenishment of tea kit required follow ups. Looks like there is not SOP for this. Another guest was saying the same thing to the staff ie reg water not being replenished on the day we checked in, so clearly there is an issue there. The tea kit was also replenished randomly without taking into account the No of guests in the room.

leaky bathroom Fittings, cheap furniture, hot water in shower works for 30 sec, unrealistic Photoshop based website , international cards don’t work ( both credit & debit) - feels like minimum investment on rooms but pricing is equal to any Taj/Hilton found there is hotel next to it which literally charges 10% of the price ! 😡 looked decent as well

New heritage property in Whitetown right opposite to promenade rocky beach. Starting from reception service was excellent the rooms are very comfortable and interior design with antique furniture, Breakfast has more options , and we had dinner at le pavillion the food is good . All sight seeing locations are walkable distance from this hotel We strongly recommend this hotel to others.
