Location is OK with about a mile to city centre, parking very tight for commercial vehicles. Hotel rooms very tired but ok for a night.

Clean and tidy and the staff were nice.

The evening meal

The room we were allocated when we checked-in had defects. Bedside lights could only be switched on/off at the wall sockets, the bathroom extractor was inoperative, the shower had part-used shampoo tubes lying in shower tray, sheets/pillows had make-up stains and other unidentified stains. The Velux type window double glazed seal had gone, resulting in a cloudy glass. We asked to be offered an alternative. This was offered and turned out to be a larger room, much more comfortable, cleaner, but clearly in the middle of refurbishment. Holes and watermarks in the ceiling, drawer fronts and wardrobe door fronts and coat hangers were missing. We accepted this room from the manager, relieved that we at least had a partially acceptable space for our two night stay. The manager’s pragmatic approach to our dissatisfaction was helpful and he was perfectly pleasant, whereas one of the front of house supervisors was most unhelpful. The redeeming aspect of our stay was the breakfast service. A clean and bright dining room with a well presented choice of breakfast food and beverages. The service was excellent.

No issues really - much better than anticipated after reading reviews. Clean, friendly staff, plenty of parking, basic but tasty breakfast. Needs some updating and a bit of minor maintenance but you get what you pay for. Not much of a restaurant but the freshly made pizza is outstanding!

Broken window and door! Very dated decor in hotel but our room was clean and the bed was comfy.

The rug in the room was stained and dirty. The place felt very run down. The people were nice. I cannot recommend staying here.

It was fine hotel needs updated a bit but dud what we needed

We needed emergency accommodation for an evening due to a hospital visit. This hotel was not cheap but the room amenities were awful. The shower didn't work. There was no milk provided. There were cobwebs and I spent all night scratching not sleeping as the bed was extremely old and just had lots of sheets covering it. The door to the bathroom looked like it had been grabbed from a skip and didn't even have a lock and you couldn't use the plug socket due to poor placement of it. And the cushions were stained with something unsavoury. Also the breakfast was not good. They had a limited choice no cutlery or glasses and kept running out of things. We won't stay again and I advise anyone to steer clear.

No signal on tv WiFi connection terrible shower/bath water temperature terrible and as for the view for the price terrible and the restaurant in the evening nobody in there as was told that food was available from 5till10

Large car park, easy parking, friendly receptionist. Requested quiet room. My room was dark with dated furniture & lack of plug sockets. Marked, peeling wallpaper & no natural light in this room ( ground floor overlooking tiny weedy courtyard). Breakfast was average, limited choices. Good location within walking distance to town.

Not too far from The city center walking or on the bus. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and beds comfy.

Decoration very dark and badly in need of redecorating. Evening menu in dining room for an evening meal very poor and basic. Breakfast just as poor. If we wished a drink with our meal we had to go to the bar ourselves. Had to go to the bar to book in. Nothing to recommend.

Lovely staff but hotel is a bit rundown and needs a facelift. TV chanels very limited and no view from the room. A reasonable distance from the town but within walking distance

It took over an hour to be booked in, the room was ok but the shower was cold, breakfast I the morning was also cold. Overall very disappointing.

Nice friendly hotel dining area could do with updating

Affordable, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

The breakfast was as cold as my shower! A number of elements and quirks with this hotel can be lightheartedly overlooked (eg decor). However charging £120/night comes with a few basic expectations that were missed, so this hotel either needs to charge proportionally for what’s on offer or put some of that cash into renovations. My room (204) sadly had no hot water and staff admitted it a known and ongoing issue. Use of another room’s bathroom was appreciated, but surely resolve the ongoing water issue or don’t rent the room out. The mattress was beat up, room carried a funny smell, bathroom well worn, but bearable for 1 night. What you read in less favouravle reviews is pretty accurate Vast majority of cooked items on the buffet breakfast were cold at 08:00. If still £120/night when you read this, .definitely book elsewhere in town for the same cash

Very dated hotel £90 is too much its a throw back to the mid 80s old carpets stained painted ceilings old furniture not homely or comforting at all. I was just stopping over with work will not stay here again. Bathroom dated more like a hostel wierd set up all round. Staff at reception very friendly though.

I ended up not staying at all it was a horribly run down hotel

I was in the bit of the hotel which is made from an old house which was odd but quite charming. However, the public areas and even outside were all a bit "tired" and in need of an update/tidy up. The staff made up for this by being helpful and attentive (eg fixed TV issue very quickly) and the room itself was comfortable and clean with a HUGE bath and nice touches, such as bottles of water. Despite the slightly jaded public areas, I would stay again.

The location is in a more residential area and is hard to find as the actual address is on a busy road and depending what direction you're coming from, you can't necessarily notice that the actual entrance is on another street. The hotel and restaurant are more dated than photos suggest, but overall satisfactory. The walls are pretty thin, so you can hear almost anything from the neighboring rooms.

Food menu not the best, bed was lumpy and uncomfortable.
