Nice hotel and friendly staff- very barebones- no room service, tiny rooms. Cool area
4.0 / 10.0
The tiny room, tiny fridge no microwave would've fine except for the ridiculous tiny sink with oversized faucet and shelf just above keeping you from leaning over. Impossible to not get your feet wet as it splashed over the rim. We got there early and planned to use the lockers in the lobby but the woman at the desk let us get right into our room at 11 instead of 4, so I give the staff 5 stars. Everyone was friendly and the room seemed to block outside noise.

Bare bones but comfy bedding, a big light window, super clean shower and sweet little sink. Very safe feeling. Thumbs up.

To Whom It May Concern,
My experience at Sonder The Industrialist was far from good, despite having enjoyed previous stays at other Sonder properties like Sonder Missori in Milan.
When we arrived, there was trash outside the entrance. In the lobby, two employees behind the desk were unhelpful, laughing, and one appeared to be under the influence of cannabis, which was evident from the smell and eyes.
Our room looked nothing like the photos online. We tried to use the TV, but neither the remote nor the buttons worked. To make matters worse, our towels and linens weren’t changed. We later discovered we had to specifically request them, but this was not mentioned at check-in, only noted on a small sign by the elevator.
I’ve always trusted Hotels.com, but this experience fell far below the standards I expect. I hope you can offer appropriate compensation, as this experience has left me reconsidering my loyalty. The difference between the hotel’s online presentation and the actual room was shocking.

Was all ok except TV could not be turned on at all.

I always stay here when I come to New York. Best location - convenient to Prospect Park & the Union St Subway. Great pizza and bbq steps away. Good lobby for working and visiting, The people are the desk are so kind and helpful. It's kind of like having a little studio in the City. We always feel at home.

The concept is interesting. The app shows beautiful photos..the hotel looks nothing like them. It was easy to check in and basic accommodations but overall feels like a step above a hostel. The “lobby” was a front area that smelled pretty bad and had a cabinet so toilet paper and a chalk board with nearby coffee/food options. No music playing or decor or environment, just odd. I honestly think something may be dead in the wall like a squirrel/rat. I almost bought room spray. You can hear EVERYTHING in your room, every door shutting, people using a communal microwave in the lobby, and all the construction happening right next door. I know they can’t help construction but it was unfortunate. No water in rooms or vending machines. It was as basic as it gets. If it was super cheap I would get it, but I wished I had booked elsewhere for the price.

Christian was very helpful! The rooms are really nice and there are lots of eateries around!

I thought the accommodations were generally sub-par for the price of the hotel. The room's sink was poorly designed; it was impossible to wash one's hands or face without water splashing onto the floor. There was no guidance on room amenities, such as where to find the ironing board. Finally, the air conditioning on my floor stopped working overnight. Despite Sonder requiring use of its app to access the hotel, there was no communication via the app that the AC had stopped working and no reimbursement or credit to make up for the inconvenience. I wouldn't stay here again.

Not worth the price.

Christian at the front desk was awesome! Super friendly and gave us some good recommendations for places to go in the area.

Takes time to register. Key etc in your phone. Small rooms, but works well as a budget alternative. Not a bad option at all, considering ending up in friendly Park Slope, Brooklyn.

I was on a girls trip for a weekend. The location was perfect! The train station was super close, great restaurants nearby, and the room was cute. Thank you Sonder for a wonderful getaway!

We were very disappointed with this property. The room was deceptively photographed and was worse than mosr dorm rooms in terms of size and character. But even worse the whole building smelled. It is appalling they charged over 400 for a box in a place that stunk from refuse. We urge everyone to spend their hard earned dollars elsewhere.

The elevator was pretty dirty and the rug was ripping up in there. My room, however, had a broken door hinge. The big metal box on the door that helps it open was completely off of the door. There were screws on the ground, and I didn’t feel very comfortable in my room.

Great place for short stay. Comfortable and great location for visiting family. I wish it had its own gym. The sink position was a bit narrow and the light fixture above the sink was missing. However everyone was super nice and helpful. Would give it another go.

Sonder industrialist was an incredible stay in a handy location to get anywhere in the city, the front desk staff were incredible and accommodating. Even though there is no laundry we did ours at the closest laundromat $10 for wash dry iron fold and pick up!
Only thing we would have loved is to not pay $35 for cleaning and sheet changing during our stay but otherwise would happily stay again and recommend to anyone needing a place to stay!

I liked the keyless entry and the easy access of extra supplies if needed.

Walls are really thin you could hear everything from your room. Hotel is ok. Clean and friendly staff

The staff was very helpful and friendly.
The place was clean and cozy.
The shower was very tiny. I needed to stand sideways from the shower head to not have my body push the shower curtain out into the rest of the bathroom.
The ceiling had a drip onto the floor in front of the toilet one day but curiously disappeared? Perhaps it was condensation from a shower. That was a mystery. The staff readily volunteered to move us if necessary. That was much appreciated.
Thank you for a verry pleasant stay.

Not so good. There was a persistent humming—there were ear plugs left for us—a better solution is to fix the hum. The room was adequate but difficult to get around the bed to turn lights on and off. The closet had drawers that were hard to access fully because the closet door hit against the TV. We like urban hotels but ones that are better planned out and without the constant din.
The coffee pot did not work.
Location is good.

When I checked into my hotel room, I checked all my amenities. I noticed that on the balcony one of the chairs were broken. My TV was not working the hotel staff had to come up and spent about 30 minutes trying to fix the TV the heat in my room did not work at all. I turned it all the way up to the highest it can go the heat never turned on. I had to turn on the shower just so my room can warm up. The balcony door did not lock at all so my room stayed cold majority of the night.

Very economical use of a great location, right by the subway, next to pizza, accross from bagels, and with a very friendly and helpful staff.will definitely plan to come back.

The staff was really great. They were super friendly. The only things i didnt like was the room was super tiny and had no fridge and it wasnt really quite with people coming and going all night.
6.0 / 10.0
It was nice but so tiny. On top of that, there’s a $35 fee for cleaning the room. That automatically makes it feel more like a hostel than a hotel. The bathroom was so tiny the sink had to be outside of it. Water would get everywhere around the sink when washing face, brushing teeth etc.
8.0 / 10.0
Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the rooms were small yet very very comfortable. The only issue thing that could be better is that the shower leaked over the edge due to the step being too low so the bathroom floor got soaked.

The big surprise they hide is that the shower is unusable. It's installed around a foundational beam, leaving only a space of 18" for you to stand in and take a shower. In order to move around, be prepared for full contact with walls and curtains. The sink also prevents you from washing your face, because of a shelf. The entire place was falling apart. The vents into the room were full of crud. The curtains did not work. The windows do not open. When reaching management about the problem, I was ignored. I imagine this is part of the design for more than just my room.

It is find to lay your head down. It was very clean. However, so small. Almost uncomfortable.

The rooms do not look like the photos at all. They are visually cold/shockingly ugly: very little furniture, scuffed walls, visibly broken fixtures. My bathroom mirror had holes in it for vanity lights, but no vanity lights—it looked like a half-finished, badly flipped house. Very little counter space to put my toiletries and no light to do makeup well. In my room the outlet was broken and the only light that worked was the overhead fluorescent light. Bathroom reeked of mildew. Room was generally very dirty—I dropped an earring back on the floor and when I got on the floor to find it I screamed. Dust bunnies, dirt, just generally so gross. Pros: the staff I interacted with were very nice, the location is good, there weren't any bedbugs in my room. (I checked.) But absolutely avoid this place. I was in town for business and this room was so bad I had to leave early so I could function. I could not get comfortable in this room, even for a minute.
