Cosy bungalow, clean and comfy. Super friendly staff and dive master. Everything was clean. Beach access, snorkelling is amazing right in front of the resort. Walking distance to restaurants and center of Dauin. Would definitely go back :)

Would be great to know in advance the schedule of the diving trips to Apo Island. I didn't ask ahead so when I arrived, it was already full. That's something to keep in mind if you're going to Dauin to explore Apo :)

The place is really fantastic. The staff so dedicated and friendly absolutely top. The dive centre has very good equipment and the dives are well organized and safe. The coral reef just in front is simply amazing with beautiful eel garden, corals, friendly turtles and lots of coral fishes variety. And on top the food is also delicious. Seriously amazing place. The place is also really well maintained, clean and mattress really comfortable.

I should have stayed longer

The staff and owners are incredibly nice, they made me feel at home. It was the cleanest room I've stayed in the Philippines. Nice restaurant too. Security at night I felt very safe.

The communal showers only has a curtain (no door and lock).

This is my second time at La Tortue. My friend and I loved staying here where the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and provided us with so much useful info to make the most out of our stay in Dumaguete. From a tricycle service to and from the airport, to diving lessons, to recommended places to see in Valencia and Dumaguete City, to great conversations with the staff (and pets!), we loved it all.

Small and cozy spot to sleep at the beach! Design of the huts and showers is simple, it is a comfortable place to stay if you are on a budget. It also has a diveshop/school with a beautiful housereef and spots nearby (APO is also an option!). The atmosphere was really nice, the staff super friendly. They serve delicious coffee and desserts (and more food). I will come back when I am in Dauin 🙂

Everything was great. The bungalows were nice, clean and with a lovely patio. The shared bathrooms were clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. I loved my staying. I strongly recommend it.

La Tortue HAS GOOD FOOD. I highly recommend coming here even just for eating meals and not staying. Note that Dauin is a small town, so it does make sense to prearrange dinner if you are going on a night dive. I stayed here to dive at Apo Island. They also have a dive crew, and highly recommend for diving in small shore dive groups.

Lovely, cozy bungalow wirh comfortable mattress and beautiful sea and sunrise view. Fantastic reef right in front of the resort. Staff was wonderful and the food was tasty!

At first we planned to stay at la Tortue for three days, but we stayed there for 11 days ! Nicolas and his staff are amazing people. You feel like at home with really good meals, a nice atmosphere and kindful people. We had the opportunity to get our diving license with the bests instructors John and Jerry. Highly recommended if you want to have a good time in a resort in front of the sea with one of the best area to dive !

Honestly, everything was perfect

This was our favorite stay in our trip to the Philippines. Our cabana had a perfect view of the beach and a world class reef right off the shore. We felt welcome and safe here as to young female travelers. When we come back to Dauin, we will certainly stay here again.

It’s right in front of the beach!!!

We absolutely loved our stay in La Tortue! This place was great for learning to dive, chilling on the beach or at the bar, eating great food. Accommodation is simple but at the same time very charming and even romantic. We took speciality courses in scuba diving and our teacher, John, was terrific - not only did he teach us everything within the scope of the courses, but also focused on improving our overall technique as divers. The owners were also very helpful and accommodating, making sure that our expectations were met and surpassed. The whole staff on the site is great, and super friendly. I can't recommend it enough.

The only thing we disliked is that we had to leave this place to continue our travelling. We already miss it and want to go back.
