Overnight, my room lost power, so I woke up in complete darkness and was unable to turn on any lights. I called the front desk for assistance, and after over 30 minutes without help, I called again. The front desk said someone had come to my door but left because of a “do not disturb” sign. Considering that I had just called for help, I would have expected them to knock?! After the second call, someone finally came and fixed the issue, but by then I was running late to check out. I requested a complimentary late checkout, and the repairman informed me that he would pass along the request. However, I never received confirmation from the front desk, so I had to pack quickly and go down to check out. Front desk was again dismissive and said they never got the request. When I explained my frustration with the power outage and their lack of response, the property manager, Liz, offered me a 25% discount. Since I had booked through Hotels.com, she assured me that she would note this in my reservation, and I could request the discount through Hotels.com. Unfortunately, when I reported to Hotels.com and they reached out to claim the discount, the property denied approving it. ​Because I didn’t get Liz’s full name or ID, they continued to dispute my experience and did not honor the discount. The customer service and follow-through were truly disappointing, and my experience was ultimately dismissed. Do not stay here, this property clearly does not value their guests' experiences.

This hotel is BEYOND AMAZING! I’m taking about the price was the BOMB, the check was the BOMB, the location was the BOMB, the staff was the BOMB, the Canteen was the BOMB and the room OMG AMAZING. 10/10 highly recommend! We are coming back!!!

New hotels, great locations. Rooms are small for the prices. No laundry bags, they gave me the trash bag instead.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was compact and efficient for sure, but everything I needed was there. The sleeping was great. The space was quiet and peaceful with sleep mode and lighting control...the works. Also the coffee in the bar area was excellent, with very helpful and friendly staff.

One of the best hotels I have ben to in a long time: modern, stylish, perfectly organized, awesome staff, free water, .... just perfect!

Very small room if you are used to a normal size room. Very clean, very modern. Only one side of bed was enterable. Had to climb over my wife to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. Bed was super big and comfortable.

Our stay was excellent, perfectly located, extremely friendly staff, comfortable bed, amazing breakfast buffet - best I've had in my years of traveling (and included unlimited cappuccino)

An absolutely perfect hotel for a short visit to Chicago! Fabulous service, lovely staff at the bar (especially Zeus!) and super comfy beds. I love how you can control the room with an iPad. Gorgeous breakfast. A++++

this hotel was perfect for me and my partner. the hotel is in the perfect location to all the great attractions in Chicago. the hotel is very cool, modern and clean. the rooms are small so if there are two of you don't expect a lot of room. I would definitely book this hotel again. the staff are all amazing. And the price is right!

This is a total scam - it is NOT a 4 star hotel, more like a 1.5 or 2 star at most. They are marketing this as 'DYI" but it is nonsense and a way for the company to save money (which of course does NOT translate into lower prices) - you have to check yourself in, make your own room key, the room is truly a shoebox, literally half the size of a college dorm room, and everything is plastic though they claim to be 'ecofriendly.' to top it all - EVERYTHING, from room lights to the TV to blinds works through an app you have to download. And, the app works poorly, in fact it had no way to turn off the TV! Maybe if you are a phone addicted Gen Z person, this is the place for you. For anyone who actually wants the comfort of staying in a real hotel as opposed to a glorified 21st century hostel, DO NOT STAY HERE! Oh, and by the way the person working at the front desk condescendingly said she would help me with check in if I needed it while she talked with someone on the phone. Should I continue...the valet person smoking in front of the hotel? I could just keep going, you get the idea - this is a scam fronting as some high tech reinvention of a hotel. Total crap. Enjoy.

We recently stayed at this hotel in Chicago, and it was a really nice, refreshing change from traditional hotels. The vibe is very hip, casual, and youthful, which we really liked! However, it may not be for everyone, especially if you're used to more conventional accommodations. Our room was cozy and comfortable, though on the smaller side. We loved the unique features, like the different lighting and mood settings in the room, which added a cool, modern touch. One thing to note, especially for families or friends traveling together, is that the shower is see-through. This may not work for everyone, and I don’t recall this being mentioned when we booked. It’s something to be aware of. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely stay here again when we’re back in Chicago!

The room was the same as all of the other citizenM hotels, compact but nicely put together. Unfortunately, the AC didn't work at all so the room was hot and stuffy. There was also a lot of noise from the street outside.

Perfect for short stay solo travel. Clean, well-appointed rooms. Cozy communal living room and bar. iPad charger and handheld shower were broken in the room, but it was fixed within 30 minutes of letting staff know.

Funky, boutique hotel, nice for a change, but I prefer a front desk that checks me in and a concierge that calls a taxi instead of doing it all myself. Great location, close to Riverwalk.

Great stay. Small room but clean, comfortable and space efficient. All the amenities I needed. I would stay here again when in town for business.

We love coming to CitizenM the rooms may be small but its just a different vibe. The Workers are all super nice and will help with anything. They are just amazing with everything. There patio on the 4th floor is stunning and has a really nice view of Michigan ave.

Loved how we were cery centrally located. The room was perfect, it had everything we needed. Loved the bed, SUPER comfortable. We even used the ironing room. The hotel had an amazing terrace and we even ate at the bar multiple times.

Perfect spot, right in the heart the loop. Efficient and artsy.

Amazing consistent system hotel where everything works, everything is spotless new like and everyone is friendly. I stay here and at the NYC Bowery location every time and love them both. Location is excellent A1.

Loved the place, bed was comfortable and room was clean. Well situated: restaurant, commute, activities… Easy check-in, easy check-out, personnel is very helpful.

Stayed here the first week of July. Location was fantastic, walking distance to most sites and some of the best food spots. Hotel was very relaxed, staff were friendly and I would definitely stay here again if I go back to Chicago!

This was one of my favorites, the aesthetics was nice but I love the location. A lot of things are walking distance. I mean if you love the city noise and life then you would love it here. Definitely would recommend, I was so comfortable here even at night when I went out and came back in.

OMG the room for solo travelers was so cute, easy check in and check out process. Finding it was a little confusing but still manageable. Breakfast was very good lots of option. Easy walk to the river walk and to shopping centers around.

This hotel was close to everything. There were a lot of hot spots walking distance such as food and entertainment. Also was easy to catch an uber or Lyft to places for cheap. Great hotel as well very clean and everyone was friendly. It is very beautiful inside as well. Will def return.
