Everything was great

This is one of the most unique properties we have stayed in. Unassuming from the exterior, you enter a palace like foyer teaming with artwork. The theme continues throughout the property, with unique contemporary artwork, fused seamlessly with meticulously preserved architecture. With large suites and shared common areas, like the lounge and dining, you get a true sense of living in a palace. The property is located right in the thick of the action, including the famous fish and food markets, which were incredible to see. Also within a stones throw to the Duomo. On arrival, we were greeted by Dafne, who assisted us with our bags and provided impeccable service throughout our stay, including when my partner suffered a severe cut to his leg and our flights from Catania were cancelled due to an airport fire. Dafne went above and beyond to ensure that my husband received medical attention from her colleague Cetinna, who was very calming, practical and kind in assisting with his injury. Dafne’s service was unparalleled; she went above and beyond to ensure that we could get to Palermo despite the mayhem caused by the Catania airport fire.

Beautiful spacious rooms, staff were incredibly friendly and waited for us for a late check in. Loved the quirky art and breakfast on the terrace was delicious. Would highly recommend!

The hotel staff were enormously helpful, nice and accommodating. Breakfast was served at the table, and was excellent. We had Italian pastries, fresh fruit and expertly made coffee. The room was clean, spacious, and very well kept. All in all our expectations were exceeded!

I would like to add a bathrobe to the room and hot breakfasts.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. It is full of art everywhere you look. The terrace offers a very nice view over Catania. The room we had, Uzeta was beautiful, spacious and clean. The location is perfect for visiting the city , everything is walking distance: sights , restaurants, shops.

Oh My God..... What a Hotel. A true Gem in the Heart of Catania. We loved this place. Full of facinating art and sculptures, we were blown away. The palazzo has been restored with increadible thought and detail. We were given a room upgrade as it was low season and our stay was over 4 days. This is a hotel you need to experience. The loaction is superb. The staff are wonderfull and increadibly helpfull. The team at Asmundo work hard and deserve praise. The breakfast service and quality of the home made food are beyond our expectation. The hotel is right on the doorstep of the famous fish market and food / cafe district. You will not go hungry with such a variety of dinning options. A special thank you to Cettina (breakfast service), Ines (rooms), Danila, Dafne, Marilena, Giada (Reception), You guys rock. Love this Hotel and would come back again and again when we visit Catania. Un Grande abbracio a tutti voi. Grazie Mille.

Exceptional hotel. Beautiful, old building with modern art decors. Lovely place, situated in the heart of the city. Our rooftop apartment was amazing. Lot of space and this exceptional view from your bed :) Great staff, nice breakfast (special thanks to Cettina, who makes everything to make you happy). We will go back some day...

No place is perfect, but there are definitely more pros than cons in Asmundo.

The hotel has magnificent architecure, artwork, and decor. Our host graciously accommodated our very late arrival and was kind and thoughtful about our need to leave early in the morning, making all necessary arrangements in advance. we could not have been more pampered!

The welcome I received at Asmundo di Gisira was the warmest I have ever received in any place I've stayed in before. The staff are wonderful - especially the girl from Rome at the front desk whose name I sadly didn't quite catch. The property itself is stunning and is situated perfectly next to restaurants and cafes. The room was exceptional.

Asmundo di Gisira is a very special place, I would recommend it to anyone for whom the place you are staying is part of the trip. The design is fantastic and we really enjoyed the common areas. The staff gave us a tour of the house, talking through the art work and design inspirations behind the different floors, which was great added value. Room was equally nice and the breakfast superb.
