The check process was quick, staff were courteous and stay was comfortable.

Black mold in the rooms, dirty sticky floors, terrible customer service from staff

The bed was fine. Shower dripped very fast all night and I couldn’t turn it off further. The room smelled like dirty water had been used to mop the floor. The small shampoo container was half empty which pretty clearly indicated it had been used before. My stay was to catch a few hours sleep before the next flight so was short. Really wouldn’t want to stay more than that length of time. The staff were friendly and helpful. The property could use some maintenance and repairs of small holes and rusty vents. Not terrible but maybe a step down from a Super 8 Motel.

Good place to live good price near to airport

Over all the rooms, and property was nice. As always there is room for improvement.Such as a few updating. The bed was comparable, room was spacious. The bathroom sink drained slow. But was clean. They make it easy to leave your car and free shuttle to the airport. You just have to remember to go to the lobby about 20 minutes before you need to leave. Because they run often.

The bathtub was filthy and the water leaked

Broken things like lamps, door security lock, shower curtain, soap dish, toilet that had trouble flushing just one piece of TP, and a sink that smelled of sewage. I'm not sure terribly picky as long as the bed and towels are clean, but this was a no go for me again. Management: spend a little money on upkeep.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Howard Johnson. When I booked our stay via Hotels.com, the rooms were reasonably priced, and upon arrival, the hotel rooms and bathrooms were clean. They had a good variety of continental breakfast items. Even though the hotel is near the airport, it was quiet. The hotel is walking distance from several restaurants in the area and gas station. Excellent customer service and shout out to Genona at the front desk for booking an extra room for me! 😉 Overall, my family and I had a pleasant stay and will come back again.

I like it’s location to tour sites and shopping venues

Please do not use my name for the review. The 3 stars is because both check in and out people were nice and so was the driver that picked me up at the airport. A very bad experience otherwise. The morning shuttle driver was so impatient, cut someone off and dropped me on my butt.

This property is pretty out dated. Staff was friendly.

What I didn't like, was the Continental breakfast buffet no hot food. Frozen waffles with a toaster not able to toast the waffles just dries out the waffles.

The AC was broken in 1st room then moved to another room and AC in that room barely worked. I would not recommend this place

Nice mid range hotel for one night stay

Hallway wasn't air conditioned and the rooms weren’t prepared for guests as far as the air conditioning goes. Overall the smell of anything around us crept in the entire time.

The room was very smelly and mold was also spotted. My television screen went out inside the room and when asked to be transferred to another room it was dark and gloomy with a very unpleasant smell also. So I decided to just remain in the refrigerator I’m with the broken tv. The driver did not assist my party with putting any of the luggage on or off the shuttle which transported us back to the airport. I was very distraught of the overall service at the hotel. If I wasn’t just staying overnight to catch an early flight I would have definitely booked elsewhere

The hotel is close to the airport but needs maintenance and is slow to return the deposit charged on top of the room charge.

While I sincerely appreciate the three kind front desk staff who tried very hard to manage many things outside their control, pertinent complaints relayed to the property itself would be the bathroom ceiling leaking and then later collapsing secondary to a broken pipe (and the construction still being incomplete before my check-out date), dirty towels and linen, toiletries not being restocked despite multiple requests/calls and the cleaning cart bypassing my room several times, even when I wasn’t there, offering them more opportunities, conflicting reports on due payment by 3 separate employees resulting in my paying notably more than originally scheduled (fortunately the manager graciously rectified and clarified these concerns, so excellent job to her), the coffee pot being inoperative, the furniture and general appliances sticky, black mold in the bathroom itself, and a general feeling of untidiness throughout the property. I do not blame the staff, just the overseeing entities that appear to have failed to ensure quality control in what would have otherwise been a more pleasant experience. Again I thank the staff for all their efforts, however I fear I won’t be returning

The new ownership must provide the manager with the financing and staff necessary to make this a clean and safe space for families traveling to Michigan for Summer Vacations. Scary environment people appear to be homeless and on drugs

We arrived late after having our flights canceled. The staff were the shining stars of this property. They had a lot of people to work with and got us in and out quickly. The room was very run down. It had a strange odor, the bathroom sink was broken and glued back together. There was trash in the corner of room. All in all I just needed a place to sleep for a couple hours before going back to the airport and it accomplished that.

The check-in staff was pleasant & efficient. The morning staff was equally pleasant & efficient. Nice to be treated well by service staff!

Only downside it’s that the hotel is old, needs serious upgrades both around and in the rooms. Staff is courteous and welcoming. I think for the quality of this place it is overpriced by a lot. I had no other choice and this was the only spot available. They do have airport shuttle so thats ok.

Pros of the 4 day stay: - Was 30mins or less near activities - Ac worked wonders - Short Airport distance (6 minutes away) - No “creepy crawlies” Cons of the 4 day stay: - Room looked nothing like it was advertised - Towels had weird fuzziness when drying left on your skin - Mystery puddle (we think from the AC) - Strange appliance noises - Mystery mattress and towel stains

There rude as hell the room was trash!

This hotel is convenient for its location near the airport, however it does not appear to have been remodeled in a very long time. For the rates they are charging I expected a little more luxury.

Rooms had odour, stains on pull out sofa mattress , had to wait 30 mins to get additional sheets. Complained to management , as I wanted to leave to book another hotel but they did not offer a refund. Place is run down.

If was nice having a real North American breakfast. Not a continental breakfast which is just muffins and tea. Appreciated the breakfast was early. Also super nice to be almost walking distance from the airport since we had to get up very early. The pool is outside for hot weather but it was hot, so the pool was great. The price was really good. We are from Windsor, across the river, so if it would have been too expensive, we would just endure getting up another 2 hours earlier at home, but even after converting to Canadian, very inexpensive.

The staff will say that you smoke in the room just to keep your security deposit.
