This place used to be really bad. It is cheap and I had a short trip so I decided to try it again. The room was clean and nothing severely damaged as in past stays. The shower did drip if it wasn’t shut off completely, lot of force needed. It appears they are working on improvements. Ok for the price. I’d stay here again if traveling alone. Would not stay here if my wife comes along

The room had an unusual smell that seemed to be masked by a strong bleach overtone. The shower faucet had a continuous drip. The walkway on the second floor looked in need of a redo. The paint was eroded. The amenities only consisted of shampoo and soap, where most places these days offer at least conditioner with shampoo and soap.

It was basically like staying at an overpriced motel 8. Room smelled and was dirty, bathroom had bugs, safe was covered in grime, and carpet was gross.

The pool was closed due to an inbalace of chemicals. Vending machines down. Breakfast was a microwave sandwich in a bag, room was small. Nothing in the room to put your luggage on. Room was old and pretty clean. I guess you do need to keep in mind the price, and you get what you pay for.

Front desk clerk/owner was friendly and inviting but it was pretty much downhill from there. The carpeting in my room was wet (no idea from what), the coffee maker didn't work, the patch job on the tub floor only highlighted just how badly it needed to be replaced, and the cleaning crew somehow skipped my room despite being right next door when I left for the day. On the plus side, bed was comfortable and the hotel is right across the street from lots of food choices and a great market. The hotel is also close to Highway 5 and downtown Encinitas & Leucadia. In total, my expectations were low to begin with - you get what you pay for - but I still think I overpaid. Won't be staying here again.

Although the internet was down at check in the front desk person was able to expedite the process by utilizing paper despite the fact she was dealing with multiple issues.

I was woken up at 11-1230am from kids running and yelling. I’m not sure quiet hours are honored at this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay but the other couch room TV didn’t work and also the bathtub was water flooded but it went down slowly. They need to be fixed. Thank you.

Small roaches everywhere in the rooms. Noisy neighbors who party all night. Homeless in the area. No breakfast items other than a small carafe of coffee (but they claim to serve breakfast)

Room smelled like mildew and the windows are only able to open 1” so I couldn’t air it outside much. The tv didn’t work and the say they provide grab and go breakfast but they only had coffee.

The motel has been cleaned up since our last stay. The toilet didn't flush quite right and the room was clean on the surface. Price was ok for during the week. Will stay there again.

This hotel has 1970s-era decor, it's not very clean. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable, and it's a great choice (read: low cost) close to UCSD (~15 minutes away).

Days Inn Encinitas Legoland is a really good price compared to all the other hotels in the area. The rooms are clean and neat, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Mr. Peabody's across the street is an excellent bar/restaurant.

They were amazing with early check in and late check out. There were a couple of things that needed fixing and they sent someone up right away to take care of it.

if it wasnt for bad luck, they wouldnt have any luck at all. 1st day -- water to the property got shut off for like 12 hours instead of 2 hours... Also, somehow their internet provider was down for 4 days !?!? in 2024 in the US, stuff like this shouldnt happen... It happenned here.

Great location that you can walk to shops and the beach. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was clean but it needs a lot of work/upgrade especially the carpet and A/C unit. It has a microwave, refrigerator and free parking, which was important since we often had leftovers. It was okay.
