I LOVE THIS HOTEL AND I STAY ON BUSINESS OFTEN! Great location to SNA and walking options for coffee and food. Amazing pool and balconies overlooking pool! Great energy hotel!
3.7
Rooms were dirty. First room they put us in didn’t match the hotels.com description. I had to pay extra for parking and a fridge.
First fridge didn’t work so they brought us another that barely worked.
Overall pretty disappointed.
3.7
Place is quite old. Lots of trash around the grounds. Dirty stairways. Found metal spike sticking out of carpet that I stepped on. Tub shower valve broken. Paper Coffee cups dirty (ie. old coffee in them) and lotion bottle used. Overall just kinda gross. People onsite were very kind and helpful. Oh yes, the pool was filthy which is sad as I was looking forward to a swim.
3.7
Hotelnis very conveniently located across from the airport. Unfortunately, the facilities are outdated and in need of remodeling. Painting over stains or rusted areas (like bathroom vents/door hinges) is not fooling anyone. The walls/floors are thin. If you havea romantic couple next door, expect to hear them. If there is a kid in the room above you, you can accurately determine their start positions, speed and direction of movement. The room had a weird, acrid smell as well.
3.7
Nice clean hotel, close to numerous restaurants, and walking distance to John Wayne airport.
3.7
The hotel is a bit long in the tooth, and a little rough around the edges. While our room was fine, there were several minor problems that could have been annoying for a longer stay: some of the curtains had shredded sections, the toilet made several different annoying noises all night, the air conditioning was quite loud most of the time. You can probably pay the same at e.g. the nearby Hampton Inn for what will probably be a tidier experience.
3.7
The front desk lady was very helpful during check-in. It was late at night because my flight was canceled.
I wanted to make a coffee 5:30 in the morning, but the disposable cups were missing. Only the lids were there.
It was too early to call anybody, and I was late for the airport, so I gave up on the coffee. It might be a small housekeeping error, but it was a big disappointment for me.
3.7
The services at this hotel were nonexistent. Grounds and pool are nicely maintained. Only food available expect for a proxy breakfast was from an overpriced automat.
Parking is ridiculously expensive and cumbersome. Access to some rooms is virtually inaccessible to anyone in a wheelchair.
3.7
Hotel is very run down and needs several updates. Cleanliness was a minimum. There were bugs in the bathroom, door lock wouldn’t bolt, door stop was previous broken and if anyone tried to get in they would have easily broke through it, I had Clorox wipes I used to wipe everything down and they were filthy when finished and it had off smell to the place. I didn’t feel safe hygienically or personally. Complete dumpster fire
3.7
We stayed Friday and Saturday night. Friday was fine, Saturday night was horrible. It sounded like they were doing construction dragging furniture around and had heavy feet walking on the floor. Also the air conditioning was very loud as it was starting to come on. Wish they had a jacuzzi, we were there for a cancer walk and would have been nice to sit in one after. Otherwise good hotel.
3.7
Dated hotel and no shuttle to airport . It is an easy walk but It would be nice to know before you book.
3.7
ROOM WAS CLEAN ONLY THING WAS TOILET HANDLE INSIDE BOWL WAS RUNNING WITH OUT STOPPED SO I PULLED HANDLE AND TOOK CARE OF NOISE PLUS SHOWER HANDLE WAS TO HARD SO WATER COMES FROM TOP OF SHOWER HEAD
3.7
Room next to us had a huge party and a loudspeaker blasting and screaming we could not sleep. I Had to call management twice and then we were transferred to another room because the neighbors would not turn off music.
3.7
I was greeted the most helpful front desk gentleman, the check in process was a breeze, I appreciated that my vehicle was behind gates with a meter.
The property was beautiful, my room was comfortable and extremely luxurious.
I hope I will have training again in that area, just so I can stay there again!
3.7
The check in agent was very rude during the process. Unfortunately this same person was working the next day and also rude when I asked for toilet paper. The property itself is very pretty and I loved the pool area however, the staff and management should work on cleanliness and training. The room was dirty upon arrival debris all over the floor. Not sure if the room was scraped and painted but it looked like paint chips, dirt and hair all over the floor. Also the bedding and bedding runner were dirty. For what I paid I would rather stay at one of the major brands nearby.
3.7
The experince was very good, very clean rooms, very nice tV services. However there was a driping in the tub that seems old and they need to attend that issue otherwise I would have given them a full star merit.
3.7
I loved it and enjoyed my stay will be back soon
3.7
I like the hotel but when I called them to have our room cleaned they never came. Other than that nice hotel.
3.7
Room smells we asked to be changed they did to the other side of building and it was like a party very noisy people walking around talking in the halls hard to sleep
3.7
It was not clean!!!! Our pillows had make up on them. The couch pillows were backwards so don’t know if they even cleaned that at least. Bathroom had stains in the toilet. And on the walls look like vomit that wasn’t cleaned off.
It was sooooo loud. 5am the people upstairs sounded like they were running track in the Olympics. I had to call twice to ask them to stop running.
Carpet felt nasty and sticky. Kept shoes on until I got into the bed!
Pool vibe was nice had a lil dj. Cabanas were cool and chill.
Thank goodness I didn’t have to be in my room.
3.7
Parking situation was irritating.
First thing we noticed was the entrance was crowded, both outside and inside. once we walked in, we saw a banner for a concert event that was taking place at the hotel.
Was given instructions on where to park by the employee that checked us in.
We followed her instructions and the print out map of the property only to find zero parking spaces available. The concert event attendees had been told to park in the same lot, which as a result left not one parking space available for hotel guests. We went back to notify the front desk, employee was aware of the situation as another guest had the same problem. Employee said they just sent out a lot employee, wearing a grey shirt that would assist and tell us where to park. We drive back into the lot, went all the way around a few times, not one employee to be seen. My S.O. got frustrated and parked by a yellow painted curb that was on the total opposite side of where our room was. We kept looking out the balcony waiting for a parking space to become available to then be able to pull the car around closer and park somewhere we wouldn’t get towed.(still had to pay $24 overnight Parking fee)
The rooms have awfully thin walls, you can hear neighboring rooms as clearly as if they too were in the room with us. Balcony glass door has two separate curtains, thick black out curtains, then sheer ones that are horribly torn up. Cleaning standards of the rooms need to be greatly improved.
3.7
The coffee pot could not have been any cheaper and the pod holder was missing. They did bring me one. There wasn't any fridge or microwave. Only two lights in the room. A part of the lining of the bathtub was missing. $24 for parking each night was extreme. The most positive thing is you are right across form John Wayne Airport.
3.7
The hotel's location is great, especially if you're traveling through John Wayne Airport, as it is directly across the street. It is also just minutes from Newport Beach and UC Irvine. The staff is friendly. The pool has a fun layout with cabanas and a bar. A lot of the rooms have patios overlooking the pool. However, the housekeeping is haphazard. There were crumbs on the chair, dust hanging from the lampshade, and the toilet was not completely clean. There was also a 2' x 2' patch of really wet carpet in the middle of our room. The entire hotel interior has a slight musty smell. In the final analysis, the hotel costs slightly less than its two next door neighbors, the Hampton Inn and the Hilton. But the neighbors are a bit cleaner.
3.7
Had a wonderful experience at the Atrium Hotel. It was clean and quiet. Check in and out was very easy. I'd stay here again.
3.7
The customer service was awful.
No towels at pool area , the pool was infested with dead bees . The lounge chairs didn’t have cushion not all of them , the bar at the pool was not in service .the ladies at the customer reception were very rude .
3.7
We arrived and was greeted by front staff check in was smooth. Once in the room, the room smelled weird like moldy. We opened up the sliding door, seemed to help a bit. Hotel is old need to facelift for sure. Pool is good, big and they have cabanas that you can use first come first serve. Bar area was closed. TVs were not working. They don’t have a hot tub the only plus for the pool area besides it being big is they let you enjoy it even after hours not a lot of places do that. Would I stay there again probably not.
3.7
I loved that every room has a balcony, awesome staff.
3.7
It was ok they put me in a room that didn’t have what I booked a refrigerator and Kureg machine a out dated room because I checked in early
3.7
The hotel was very basic, not at all like the photos show. No bar, and minimal food options, we didn’t have a working phone in our room, and the remote was missing. The lights at the cabana we were in continued to flicker on and off.
We walked to the hotel next door for food and drinks.
3.7
This location is right next to the airport. You could walk to and from the airport. The location is a bit older so it has it's quirks and feels a little dated, but not in a overly bad way. I stay here often when I am on an overnight or a quick in and out trip.
3.7
It is close to airport
3.7
Very convenient to airport. Awkward pre pay parking
3.7
We enjoyed our stay at the Atrium. We had a room that over looked the pool with a balcony. We woke up and had breakfast on the patio and enjoyed our noon check out time. The room was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.
3.7
This was a great room. Large with a balcony. The decor was outdated but didn’t bother me. The mattress was comfortable but looked old when the sheets moved up the side. A continental breakfast was $10, we didn’t have any. The gym was nice, lots of equipment and weights. The pool was nice, 9 ft deep. The workers there were friendly.
3.7
I checked in and was given a key. As I approach the room and enter a lady was already occupying the hotel room. I was yelled and cussed at by the person in that room. I then went back to the Front desk and they let me know that they didn't know someone was already in that room. Overall I was scared they would do that mistake again and have some random person try to come into my room so I barely slept. I wouldn't go back.
3.7
We stayed one night because it was close to the airport. The room was clean. It’s a little outdated but cool if you want a retro look. For me it had a little musty smell and the shower could have been better. We did not have the breakfast there and parking was convenient.
3.7
The woman who checked us in was very helpful and pleasant. We came in late and left early so we didn't really get to experience the property. I booked the hotel because of its proximity to the airport. I was initially surprised there wasn't an airport shuttle - but then realized how easy it was to walk literally across the street to the terminal. The room was clean and suited our needs.
3.7
Atrium is a nice hotel located close to John Wayne airport. It has a nice and big pool area. We got a room w/ king size bed. The room has AC, clean, and cozy. Do keep in mind, the parking here isn’t free. It costs $24/night.
3.7
I checked into the room. It was pretty crowded due to an event. The bathroom in my room was making noises so they changed my room and gave me a nice upgrade. They also waived my 2 night parking fee for the inconvenience. This is the time of year that Irvine gets hot and humid. So yes walking through the hotel that’s mainly outdoors will be hot. It’s simply expected during the summer months. The pool area is nice and relaxing, but I didn’t get in the actual pool. The water didn’t look too clean. The beach is very close by so we opted for that instead.
3.7
I will say the cleanliness was not up to par. Overall, our room was clean, and the hallways were clean. However, the outside grass areas and outside trash were not well kept. Several of the outdoor trash cans were overflowing and needed to be taken out. Additionally, the grass areas had dog poop that pet-owners had not picked up. Lastly, the pool looked like it had not been cleaned in several days and there was some broken tile in the pool area, which could be a safety hazard.
Overall, it was a good stay for the night, but not what I was expecting given the photos.
