Very small bed even though I booked for a large bed. Me and my partner not big people and we found the bed very small. Mould in shower and the sink was broken. There was no free parking near the hotel. The toilet handle was broken so the toilet ran constantly unless you fixed it yourself.

Breakfast staff were excellent with four legged friend. Food was very good, our dog looked forward to her sausages in the morning. Toilet in room 319 was making a noise throughout the night. Overall very enjoyable stay, All staff very friendly and genuine.

Excellent location - city center on your doorstep. Hotel itself feels dated, needs a revamp but was clean and staff were very friendly. We stayed with 3 teenagers who loved it also. Cannot mention location enough! Walkable to train station also. Great spot.

Very central. I realise this is an historical hotel but it badly needs updating. Damp smell as soon as you walk into hotel. Room not great. Most lumpy uncomfortable bed . Only way I would recommend this is for location and reasonable price.

Awful booked a double bed and 2 singles we got 2 singles and bunk beds had a 5 and 3 year old window in front off bunk beds not safe hotel couldint give us a different room till next day

I was checked in by Colin who is by far the most friendly, helpful hotel staff have experienced for decades. Nothing was too much trouble and he treated my dog with such kindness and interest. He couldn’t have been more welcoming or friendly. My only small grumbles are that the bathroom shelf tilted towards the ground rather easily and that the room hasn’t been spring cleaned for a while. Other than that the staff couldn’t have been kinder and more polite

Lighting in room was a bit dim. Yes it is a really old location, but having a dodgy knee having to use stairs (as well as the lift) wasn't fun.

Extremely noisy walls paper thin being woke up at 2.30 AM with drunks coming into the hotel then at 6 AM by screaming kids doors slamming etc

Great central location and staff were fantastic particularly the friendly eastern european lady at breakfast who is an absolute asset to the hotel.

The fire alarm went off at midnight and we were evacuated. No explanation was ever given. We were told to avoid certain times for breakfast due to two big bus tours. When we arrived extra early to eat we weren't allowed to sit at the tables for the apparently superior guests on the buses. The floor in our room had soft spots where it didn't feel safe to walk. You could see the dips in the carpet between the floor joists. The property was established in 1699, which was interesting.

The hotel was good for the price. Staff were friendly and facilities were good, if a little dated.
We had a room which faced on to a busy road, and traffic noise etc. was a downer for us.
If I return to this hotel, I would make sure I had a room that wasn’t facing the road.

Hotel room was clean and simple. Not real big, but had everything we needed for a night's stay. Although neighborhood looked a bit sketchy, we had no problems. Plenty of restaurants and bars in walking area. Good price

You can't beat the quality for the price, and the building itself is older than the USA. The experience is unforgettable and the surrounding area is nice for quick shopping and walks. Dundee is 30 minutes away by car if you wanted to go for a night out.

I enjoyed my stay at the Salutation Hotel as was in city centre if you wanted to go alt and about, which i did not..My room was clean and tidy and in a quite area..
I had a meal in the bar area. Food was good, choice on menu was had a good choice and food tasty, service was good,

Arrived about 8.00pm. Checked into room and found the toilet wouldn't flush. Receptionist was there right away but failed to fix it. Transferred us to a different room right away. The new room was larger - 4 poster bed. Had to turn the radiator off and open the windows for fresh air. This made it very noisy from traffic noise. The room had a bath and a shower but the shower didn't work. Otherwise fine. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We Had a Few issues but on speaking with the Manager he very quickly and efficiently sorted these out. The Food
in the Dining Room and Bar was excellent as were the Servers. We would have no hesitation in using this Hotel
again.

It's an interesting old building. Decor in my room was dated but bathroom more modern and bed very comfortable. The main restaurant looks a bit Butlins but the food in the bar was excellent on both nights. My second night was ruined by noisy occupants of 206, starting at around 2:30 and they left at around 5:30. Not at all sure they were guests. Had to leave 1 day early and reported the above. No comment. Doubt I will return to Perth but would certainly consider staying here as the location is good.
