It the cutest little cottage, with the most amazing view of the ocean. The whole property was clean and well maintained. We will definitely stay here next time in Maine.

The cabin was incredibly cute and very efficient. The floors were chili in the bed was not very comfortable. Otherwise a fabulous spot and super helpful and friendly host.

From the the fresh cookies and cider, and the welcoming lobby cat, to the super clean, quiet, and cozy cabin with a nice view of the ocean, our stay could not have been better. The lovely lady at the front desk gave us a great dinner recommendation for a casual meal, and was ready to answer any and all questions. I'm just sad that we weren't there more than one night. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a simple stay with a view of the ocean.

We can’t wait to stay again! Cookies and hot cider when we arrived. Colonial Gables is a hidden gem. We stayed in the cutest little cabin right on the bay with a million dollar view. The cabin was clean and bright. The whole property is very well maintained. The staff is super pleasant and helpful. The only complaint is we only booked one night.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. My wife loved the room decor. Was great to have a little patio with a view to the beautiful bay. Our only concern was Hotels.com said it was only 8.8 miles from Castine. False! We are not interested in miles "as the crow flies". Check the map closely. It cost us a lot of extra driving time.

A quick one night stay. Nice location on the ocean. Nice property. In need of a detailed cleaning, but not filthy. We would stay again. The fastest check-in ever. Like 5 seconds.

Ocean views and great proximity to Belfast Harbor and the rail trail. All of Mid-Coast Maine awaits you from this location. Lovely beach to walk on, annd you will enjoy sunrise views from your cottage.

I traveled to the area to hike local, sea-side trails. The motel is a little more than an hour drive from Acadia National Park. The motels rates were much more reasonable than those closer of establishments closer to Bar Harbor and the park. When considering the cleanliness, comfort, and quiet of the motel, it was an absolute bargain. It is staffed by the most cordial, attentive and helpful folks that you could hope to encounter. Two thumbs up and a smile.

I loved the private cottages. I loved being right there on the beach. The porch did smell like smoke, which ive learned that you allow, that made it tough. The bedroom was ok though. The young gal who checked us in was very professional and nice. Wish we could have stayed another night but was already bookef. What a bummer! Thanks for a great memory.

We found this gem and was very pleased with the cleanliness and what was provided in our room. The bed was very comfortable and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The grounds were taken care of and the view of the bay is gorgeous. It was so wonderful, that when we headed back down from up north we booked another night as we were driving home!

The place had a very strong deodorizing smell as if they were covering up another smell. The place was older but looked like it had been recently renovated and was clean. The bed was too soft for our backs. The bathroom was nice but too small (as was the room) with no vanity. The view of the water was lovely and there was a big veranda out back and there were nice grounds outside. The management were friendly. The road going past at the front was busy. We missed not having a breakfast served at the price charged.

Clean room, efficient check in, great location on a nice beach.
Only complaints were overly powerful smell of air fragrance in the room which required leaving the windows open for a couple of hours. And I never imagined I would say this but the water pressure in the shower was far too powerful it hurt.

Fast friendly check in. Too dark to see view at check in but our room has a deck out back door to sit on. Enjoying some time they’re smelling the ocean and listening to buoys far out to sea. Lovely room.
