The property was old, smelled of smoke and wet dog and was very humid and damp inside the rooms. The carpet was damp and sticky and the tub was rusted. This was thebworst hotel I wcer stayed in. The only pro was that the staff was kind and the window opened.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The ability to use the washers and dryers for free was wonderful and a surprise bonus! The property is currently under renovations which will be great once completed. There is a foul smell in some areas. The first room we were given had a terrible stench. I am not one to complain and attempted to make it work. I even opened the windows to air it out, but it did not help. There were stains on the carpet and the room in general seemed to be one of the ones that needed renovations badly along with the smell of the entire 2nd floor. The second room on the third floor was much better! The pool area was okay, but my family and I couldn't fully enjoy. This hotel seems to be a property that is housing many male contract workers. Our first day there, we took the kids down to enjoy the pool after all the traveling we had done in the car. There were men there staring at us the entire time. As a woman and mother, I did not feel comfortable at all. Later we realized the men would all gather there to hang out after work daily. We did not return to the pool area the rest of our time there. I would not return to this location again.

First thing, when I walked into the lobby to check in, the 2 ladies at the front did not acknowledge me. They both just looked up and stared at me. I was stunned by this reception. Then next thing is the smell. It smelled like mold and got worse as we got to rhe elevate and as we open the room door I was over it. I didn't enter the room.

The staff is very friendly! But, this property needs some TLC. The first room the tv didn’t work. The second room the refrigerator didn’t work. The 3rd room was ok… although a little tired and worn out.

The girl upfront gave us cards that would not open the door had to walk back again to get a new set of cards still had trouble getting the door to open. Girl was nice just when you’re traveling and are so tired all you want to do is get to your room and rest not have to walk back and fourth to the front desk from the third floor.

First of all some of the rooms are infested with dog fleas! The elevator broke! The floor was sticky and slippery probably because they do not mop properly.The whole Hotel has a bad dog odor. Saw a lot of mold all over. I will not stay here again even if they would give it too me for free. I’m still itching from the flea bites I got last night. All they told me was so sorry for the inconvenience. That they would fumigate.

The worst hotel I’ve stayed at. There was a hand print smudged on the bathroom wall all the walls were dirty. The tub was disgusting. The cleaning crew talked all freaking night and were loud we couldn’t sleep.

Long story short, the general manager Raymond Villarreal is a discriminating, narcissists, passive aggressive prick!!!! He had a tantrum over my vehicle parked in front of the building. Mind you it was ON, my husband and kids were inside the truck waiting for our room to get our luggage down. He refused to check us in until it was parked in the parking lot. He made me wait 2 hours extra with the excuse “Rooms weren’t ready.” When Diamond (front desk) advised me it would no more than 20 minutes. Building is very old, stains on carpet and sofas. Horrible smell! Tubs have never been scrubbed. Overpriced $175 plus 75 deposit. At the end manager kicked me out when I said “your job is to solve the problem not make it bigger!”

When we arrived there was other people already complaining of no hot water and some no lights. When we got to our room it smell so bad like old floors or moldy I had to go buy scents. The restroom has stains of rust.

The reservation made on Expedia was not found when we got to the hotel. Because we has a confirmation, the accomodaded us with a room for the duration, which was great, but to be told you dont have a reservation is a little unnerving. Other than that, our stay was wonderful. The bed was the best i have slept in at a hotel in years! I need this bed at home! I forgot to ask before i left, but i wanted to check the type of mattress, lol. I have back issues, and drive for 6 hours to get there, so the bed was a HUGE first impression! Our room, as well as the hotel were clean and tidy. The staff were all respectful and accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed for our stay. I love that they have a room with items you can borrow, such as games, appliances, and such; makes for a better stay if you dont have to go buy a waffle maker or toaster oven! I would gladly stay again the next time i am in Corpus Christi!

Had to cancel within 10 minutes of being there. Reeked of mildew, horrible customer service, trash all over the place, no lighting whatsoever in the hallways and in the room they gave me. Felt like a horror film. The A/C unit didn’t work, tv hung crooked, cabinets and drawers were all messed up, the tub/shower was horrifying, smelt like mildew had taken over the room, went down to let the front desk know and she never looked up from whatever she was doing. Didn’t care one bit I guess. So I canceled and all she had to say was “you will be charged for one night” I said ok and left. I will NEVER stay at this location or ANY Candlewood property for that matter again. First time customer by the way. Hopefully others don’t have the same experience.

For an IHG property I expected a ton more. The carpet had missing pieces and massive stains. The elevator smelled of mold. The bathtub was rusted all over and the floor of the tub was so worn out(did not shower because of this). Fridge in room had stains on the outside. There was a clear plastic elastic ties on the smaller alarm. Have pics if anyone wants to see. Complete disaster. Left after first night of two.

Checked to Pay at Location but they charged my card without my approval. Attempted to leave/ checkout at 9am, desk refused to give receipts, daughter had to pay a deposit and had to return after noon to receive the deposit,,,sure am glad we weren't traveling and attempting to leave the property at 8am.. That Was Ridiculous.. Daughter had to call police as workers daughter was in room between the 2 rooms we had and the girl had a bunch of her friends over all night causing a ruckus and was loud and very inconsiderate of anyone else and we had 5 kids...

No air conditioning on the third floor. Staff rude, unfriendly, and unprofessional. The girl told me I was on the 3rd floor, I get to the room and the keys don't work. I go back down dripping with sweat and I was told "I'm sorry, you are on the 1st floor. " After wandering around for 10 minutes trying to find my room with NO assistance from the front desk girl I get to my room and it smells like mold and mildew. It's supposed to be a suit yet there was no couch, just 1 recliner and 1 hard chair with torn vinyl seat cover. Then, when I kicked off my shoes, I discovered that the carpet was wet in multiple spots which explained the mold smells. I called the front desk to request a different room and was told the only available room was on the 3rd floor. Needless to say I requested a refund. I had to fight for it but I got it. Will never EVER even consider staying at one of these hotels again. Stay at the Hampton.

We chose this hotel because it was pet friendly but the only area they had to walk your dog was a 4’ x 20’ area with no other grass. The elevator was not by the front but down the hallway and we were at the other end and there was no air conditioning in the hallway and it was 100 degrees. The carpet in our room was very badly stained the ac in the room would cool down the room then it would get really warm then cool down again all night. But what really made me mad was our reservation was for 3 adults and 1 children but there was only 3 towels so I went to the front desk to ask for 1 more towel and they said I had to bring down a dirty towel before I could get 1 more towel, unbelievable and unacceptable

We had a reservation for a one bedroom suite with a sofa bed. Upon checking in and going to the room there was not a sofa bed in our room. Going down to front desk the clerk was cleaning the pens and I let her know we did not have what we reserved and while she made NO eye contact with me simply said that’s all we have we are booked. So basically the extremely poor customer service coupled with making a reservation that do not keep makes this my worst ever experience at a hotel. Perhaps it would have been more bearable had the clerk acted like she cared.
