hotel was in a good location, I had requested river view but if you're claustrophobic a corner room is not the room for you, the window was so small and I had called to ask to change but they were full for the day, I had to stay out of the room as much as possible which was not fun. The bathroom was outdated and didn't look clean the vents had dust, elevator took forever but other than that it was ok for one night.

Booked: two bedroom suite Condition: bed was very comfy and linens felt lovely. Bathroom was well appointed. Spotlessly clean. Rooms could use a remodel and a spruce up, BUT it was not offensively outdated and I have NO complaints on the quality of the space. Microwave also functions as a convection oven. Plates, cups, utensils, cooktop, pots and pans included. Refrigerator is fairly generously sized. Love the water bottle filler across from the elevator. Staff were fantastic, helpful and fun! Location is superb at the corner of Wacker and Michigan in the middle of the Miracle Mile. Picked this hotel as the one I typically stay in was asking over $800 per night for a one bedroom suite that is a bit larger but no less convenient. This was a great alternative for 30% of the price basically leaving more money for $hopping!!!!! Will definitely return to this hotel in future.

Wonderful location and beautiful views. We stayed on the 3rd floor. Only con was the tv didn’t work and there were tiny ant looking bugs in the bathroom. Otherwise I’d definitely stay here again!

A closet of a room - no business making something so small and claustrophobic and it wasn't clean. The hotel itself has some character, but that doesnt save it for us. Area was great, but we'll absolutely stay somewhere else next time we're here.

Very uneventful

Our view from the 15th floor was stunning. We were in a standard room with a queen sized bed, but unfortunately neither one of us slept well because the bed is just not comfortable at all. We appreciated the hotel offering bottles to fill up with drinking water as that saved us a trip! I would recommend more hand towels and washcloths in the bathroom. We were only given 2 towels and one single wash cloth to use. Staff was kind and all in all it’s a beautiful and ideal location for travelers!

Bathroom wasn't clean, didn't leave soap for the counter or the shower, didn't leave a hair dryer, towels and carpet was frayed. Overall, there was an unclean aspect to this hotel and it didn't seem that the staff and managementc had the motivation to make things right.

My daughter and I went to Chicago to run the marathon. Booked The River hotel as it was one of the few hotels I could find with twin beds at a reasonable price located within walking distance to grant park. The room was compact but it was warm, clean, had a microwave oven, mini fridge and espresso machine. Location was absolutely brilliant. Magnificent mile just the other side of the river and plenty of shops, restaurants, bakeries right next to the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful, only really had interaction at checking. Highly recommend, I certainly would stay there next time.

Great location for walking. Plenty of stuff to get to on foot. Easy to get mass transit north too. Staff is awesome. Aweeeesome. Only knock - weak shower pressure.

Staff was friendly and helpful. My colleague had bedbugs in his room and had to relocate rooms. The property has s total of 2 elevators servicing floors 11-41. There is no service elevator. One of the two elevators was out of service. During the morning and evening rush, it took 10-15 minutes to get to the rooms. Super annoying. I wouldn't stay here again.

The staff was more than helpful when there was a problem with our room. We requested help a couple of times and it was prompt and courteous

They didn’t clean the room for four days

The Good: Great location to stay. The hotel staff were very helpful. The valet for car service was awesome. The Bad: The room was in need of being updated. The mattresses had dips in them that could be felt when sleeping. The room had a lack of comfortable chairs to sit in. The couch was difficult to get up from and very used. The Ugly: The water pressure in the showers were terrible. The room had many scratches on the wood trim and doors. It did not feel like a home away from home environment.

My niece and I checked in on Sept 30, 2024 around 330pm and checked out Oct 1st at 130am due to my niece and I finding bed bugs in our bed.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. Chicago offered lots to do and great eats. Our hotel was central to many things like the river walk and bars. I highly recommend this hotel because it was clean, easily accessible to entertainment and food. We will visit again!

Would give it five stars except for two things: 1) I paid for an upgrade to get early check in but when I arrived one hour after my check in time, they told me the room was not ready. I had to tell them I paid for early check in and then I was able to get a room immediately. They should have known without me telling them. 2. The room was very cold. There was a thermostat but although the fan was blowing, it was cold air and the room never warmed up. I had to get extra blankets to sleep with. On the positive side, the room and entire hotel was very clean. The free water was fantastic. And most impressive was the view directly down the Chicago River looking west. And there is no better location in all of Chicago.

Internet Servixe was horrible because it didbt work. You guys need to up date those electric outlets,asap. The only ice machine that was working was in the basement with only one working elevator mind you our room was located on the ninth floor. We had to go next door to enjoy the in house bar for a couple of drinks and food because we didn't want to leave the hotel we were stay in for the weekend. You guys being located in Downtown Chicago presentation should have been supreme and you guys should also have more amenities to offer your tourist besides coffee and cappuccino located on the 2nd floor. VENDING MACHINES ARE NOT NEEDED IN A HOTEL UNLESS THEIR FIR YOUR EMPLOYEES NOT YOUR TOURIST. BE BLESSED

Booked last minute for a great rate and it was awesome for the price! Impeccable service from the front desk. Room was small but clean. You can't beat the area, downtown Chicago was fantastic! Only downside was $53 a day to valet park and the old guy parking cars was irate I didn't give him cash and threw a very public fit. Others said the same. Besides that, our stay was great and I applaud the great staff at the front desk. Thank you!! We'll be back!

First of all your description include info that says there is a restaurant in the hotel and room service. There was neither. No small refrigerator and ice only on the first floor.

Very clean room, shower water pressure was actually amazing, and really helpful after my 21 hour day! Pedro at the front desk was very helpful, super polite, great first impression for this hotel! Would definitely recommend this hotel!
