Il Battistero is a unique gem of a boutique hotel steps from the Siena cathedral. Steeped in historic importance as a former papal residence and sitting atop ancient subterranean aqueducts, I’ve not experienced anything like it before. Truly special.

Perfect location. It does have stairs if you are handicap… service was great! Beds comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and with the Duomo view. Would definitely go back again!

Lovely property and very spacious suite.

The location was amazing right across the street from the Battistero and nearby Il Campo. We stayed in the family suite, and it was very comfortable for all four of us. Comfy beds and great water pressure for a 700-year-old building!

Loved this hotel and would stay there again in a heartbeat Location was ideal, across the street from the Siena Cathedral and less than five minutes from Piazza del Campo. Our room was clean and updated as well as the bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Rita was so kind to us during our visit, going above and beyond and preparing even a breakfast for us to take on the road. Also, the hotel was right by Duomo and ideal for seeing Siena day and night.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well located hotel. Service was impeccable. Breakfast conveniently located close to the hotel. I would highly recommend staying at this establishment. We enjoined the view of the Duomo from our window.

Great location, next to the Duomo. Gorgeous rooms and very nice hosts. Only downside is that you hear all the noises coming from the street at night. So, if you have a hard time sleeping with noise, this might not be a good option. Other than that, highly recommended!

This little boutique hotel was great! The service we received was above and beyond. A special thank you to Andrei? the young man at the front desk upon our departure. He was very helpful. The location was wonderful for exploring Siena on foot, with the beautiful Cathedral right at your doorstep. It is a cab ride from the train station but was only 18 Euro.

Overall, central and a wonderful spot. Rita the host was exceptional. I would have put 5 stars but the wifi set up was annoying to the point it didnt connect.

Great location, staff willing to help

For us, the location is unbeatable. It was across from the Duomo and a short walk to the Campo and a lot of great restaurants. We were there during the Palio so it was a little chaotic but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. One warning: if you are driving here, you have to valet park outside the city gates and get driven in.

Authentic home of where Pope Alessandro stayed or lived. The front desk staff very helpful and nice. It’s rustic but still clean. Centrally located. We didn’t have real hot water but didn’t mention and they were so upset about it. It’s a little noisy outside but totally worth it to be in such a great area and be part of the history.

Rita and Andrei were going above and beyond to help us get to most out of the Palio. Restaurant reservations, helpful insight and being sure we would not miss anything from our time in Siena were part of their efforts. Splendid location and amenities. The breakfast is fabulous !

The location was perfect, very close to all the attractions of old town. Also, the staff were very nice and helpful during our stay.

Great location and helpful staff

We stayed in the private suite of Pope Alessandro VII. It was quaint, lovely and comfortable. It has a connecting room which was great for my daughter, giving her privacy. Good modern shower. We were just a few step up the stairs from the Battistero. A dozen of so steps from Il Campo. Excellent location. Alessandro our host was very friendly, helpful and a walking history encyclopaedia on the history of Siena. It was really interesting listening to him.

Great service before and during stay. Stay was in an excellent, central location across main attraction. Linda was very helpful in helping us with parking, food, recommendations, and bookings.

The staff, Rita, Linda and Maria Pia were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The location could not be better. The charm and history of the building are notable.

Centrally located; wonderful people and place.

Oh after finding a parking space in the lot, we took the escalator up to the top of the village in sienna. The hotel was a short block away and at the foot of the doors of the duomo.Charming restaurant was connected to the hotel where we had breakfast and also a dinner outside at the steps of the Baptistry. The hotel was once a resident of the pope. And there are secret underground tunnels connected to the church. It had very interesting modern decor and historical artifacts combined. Very quiet except for the bells which toll a lot. We loved it! Linda was so helpful we truly appreciated her !!

Perfect location. Breakfast served at the cafe across from the entrance in the square. Nice room although limited view. Really helpful and friendly staff. Would stay again but next time would use the paid parking rather than the valet parking. I think it would have been more convenient although there was nothing wrong with it.

This hotel has such an amazing location and the staff are wonderful! Our window looked right out to the Duomo and we could walk anywhere in the city we wanted to go. They gave us great suggestions for dinner too! we used the parking that was in a lot we could walk to. it was very convenient and was easy to get in and out of especially after you learned the town. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. I would highly recommend this hotel.
