Very old and decayed. Needs a lot of attention to get it up to par. Never again.

A bit outdated hotel right on a beach. Every member of the staff is very helpful, nice and friendly. Easy 15 minutes of walking distance to Jaco. Beach is beautiful but ideal for surfers not so much to swim. Wildlife is around. Great location. Planning to comeback. P.S. I would only suggest to work on breakfast menu ( same two options all the time) and menu in general.

Pro: Somewhat secluded but very close to main strip. Con: very dated with limited and some poorly functional amenities.

We had a wonderful, relaxing time. Pool right outside our room with the beach within 50 feet. Beautiful scenery and wildlife. Lunch and supper options were delicious and it was within walking distance to other meal options and shopping. We would stay again

Older hotel, but it’s clean and the people are nice. Pool is great and location is also great.

The bathroom was dirty and the toilet wasn’t flush properly. Dirty under the bed , fridge was dirty too

Nice economical hotel. Decent free breakfast, right on the beach and nice staff.

This was a very convenient place to walk into downtown. I would have liked more amenities and labeled champions and soap but it worked as a base hotel. The staff was very friendly and available and the surfing was great!

Great location at Jacó Beach, but needs some upkeeping of grounds and restaurant could be better. Great pool and access to the beach

Everyone who works at Hotel were wonderful. I will be back to visit. My new favorite Jaco hotel.

Consider that the good reviews for this place are based on its affordability. The property is very dated and had more of a surfer community feel, while we were more looking for a nice beach front property with pool to relax in. The breakfast was not good but all staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The stay was wonderful and the folks were friendly and helpful. Naomi and Josh at the front desk were accomodating and so so nice! Always pleasant and with a smile on their face.

The hotel staff was professional helpful. Rooms were cleaned daily. Exactly what it says it is. Location is excellent there is a good bar for sunsets. Coffee was great every morning. Pool was nice a relaxing and comfortable. Only positive vibes. Recommend to anyone who wants an affordable comfortable place to stay with family or friends. Pura Vida ! 😎

The really nice property with a good beach vibe!

Hotel was sorely outdated. Floors were soiled and we had a few dead bugs on the floor. Prices in the bar were very expensive, $11.00 for a weak gin and tonic. Mattresses were so hard we left a day early.

Booking tip: seems like rooms 9 through 12 were on the backside, no ocean view but private and away from the swimming pool so we didn’t have any noise problems at all. Restaurant: wasn’t the best tasting food but the portions were large, priced fairly and since the restaurant is right on the beach front it’s a great place to watch the waves and sunset. Saw several families staying which implied a tranquil vibe. I noticed some rooms (I think room numbers thirty something ) were overlooking a parking lot so I would inquire properly where the room is situated. All in all I would go back for another stay. Everything seemed very clean.

Ive stayed here twice now and both stays were lovely. Its right on the beach, and also has a pool. Charming and tropical. I will be back!

The property overall was a nice place to stay. I liked how it’s right on the beach. You can order food and drinks at the open air bar overlooking the beach. The pool is nice, but usually pretty warm due to the sun and heat. I did notice about 30 ants on the wall coming in at the AC unit. Also there’s a high window in the shower with only a screen, so it gets hot in the bathroom, even with the bathroom door open. I also think they could do a better job keeping up with the landscaping. Overall I would stay here again.

The property was right on the beach, which was amazing. We got a pool view room upgrade which we loved. The lunch we had at the hotel bar was also very good. The staff was very kind. The only downside is that there was a lot of water in the room, breaking through the wall from the air-conditioning. But being on the beach and in the summer period, we were not that bothered by it. All in all a great stay!

Pros: easy check in, friendly service, good drinks at the bar, right on the beach, with loungers available. Clean rooms. Secure parking with easy in and out. Close to Jaco walk with restaurants and shopping available. Cons: the AC didn't work in the room so the first night was miserable. The room was dated, with broken outlet covers, no bulb in the lamp, and generally tired looking. This was room 118 on the first floor. The staff moved us to another room the next morning, room 223. This was in much better condition and had a balcony with a view of the ocean. Breakfast was included but not great. We didn't have any meals on site. Overall a decent stay. I don't know if we will return to this property. It did the job for one and a half days.

The staff were awesome, pool was great, beach was swimmable and clean. Laid back atmosphere, loved it.

We loved our stay at Hotel South Beach! The location with the bar right on the beach was perfect for us. It is on the quieter end of the beach which we loved. Danny and Efran were so hospitable and kind. We enjoyed spending our nightcap with Danny at the end of long days of beach and adventure. The vibe here is so relaxed and laid back. The value of the hotel cannot be beat.
