Loved our check-in, as we were offered an Expedia welcome drink, along with great guacamole and chips. Front desk staff was friendly and the room we booked was large, beyond what we expected and imagined. Great for our needs and 1-night stay.
One thing to consider, as a boutique hotel, the building has an interesting and unique layout. No elevators, but lots of steps and stairs to navigate throughout.

Fantastic place. The bed and pillows were soooo comfortable; the AC worked great and was quiet. The hostess was super nice, she spoke English well and had great recommendations for food and fun. I had a massage, which was very well done and they even came to my room. Breakfast was very tasty and it’s right on the river so that’s nice too. There’s lots of shopping, dining and night clubs right in the area. I felt safe after dark walking around by myself as a single woman. The ONLY thing I could say I’d change about the room if I could was the shower didn’t have much pressure and there was a sky light in my room, which didn’t allow me to black it out - I can’t sleep in if the room is light, that’s me though... Minor things. I would go back tomorrow if I could.

I loved the architecture and design of the space as well as the incredible amenities! The pool was stunning, the patio along the river with the hot tub was also stunning! The staff were wonderful, especially Martha! She kept my mom and I in mind about a restaurant we thought was closed but ended up reopening on our last day. She excitedly told us about it as we were leaving for breakfast our last day so we were able to go their instead! Such a wonderful experience I would definitely go back 😊

Very beautiful and clean property - the room was gorgeous too. In a convenient, walkable location just a few minutes from the beach. I really enjoyed my stay here. We were greeted by friendly and responsive staff. Rigo was amazing! I would definitely stay here again. I appreciate them notifying me of a pair of heels I left behind.

This place is not a place I would ever stay or recommend any to stay. I’ve used Expedia for all my travels and I’m very surprised that you would list this as one of your hotels it’s an embarrassment. The place is abandoned no staff and location is not what’s advertised, romantic zone. Reviews have to be tampered with we ran into other guest that expressed the same concerns. We asked for a refund and they declined it we stay the only one night only cause we had started are travels at 4 am. getting there late for our check in so we were obligated to stay the one night the next day we booked another hotel. The pictures were like listed and our stay was a 10. Sadly Expedia also reached out to get us a refund and they to were declined.

Going to Puerto Vallarta for the first time we wanted to experience the town as opposed to staying in an all inclusive resort. Garlands Del Rio is a special place. It’s located in the old town part of PV and is blocks from the beach and surrounded by shops, restaurants and bars. You can get everything you need and the food is amazing. Garlands is a restored building located next to a river and in the heart of the town. It is so unique and beautiful. The staff are amazing as well and will help you with anything you need. If you are looking for a special and unique experience this is your place.

Wonderful property from beginning to end. A true Diamond in the rough. Service was excellent, room cleaned everyday. It’s on a very small street you wouldn’t believe such a nice place existed. Close to great food and party scene. We will definitely be back

The room overlooking the pool was strong smell of molds. The room was small and you have to carry up and down your heavy suitcase by yourself. I requested info on diving package, but front desk was totally unable to assist me. If you are up to diving, you had better stay at different places up north.

During the low season, hey we're created daily regenuine smile from Marta, Ivan, grant and Luz.
Pros: peace and quiet in the evening, centrally located with lots of yummy food and stores around, close to public bus stop and all the wonderful sights. We took the upgrade and got yummy daily breakfast served by Luz and her team and a very nice room overlooking the river (dry at this time), with neat decors. We really appreciate the superb tips from Martha and Ivan. Oh yeah water dispensers were very much appreciated.
Cons: good but whistling AC that can be remedied with ear plugs.
We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. Thanks again to the wonderful staff. Remarkable neighborhood and places to explore.

It's not eco-friendly in the sense that there are a lot of air gaps in the windows and door.
They have only one person running the hotel so if you get there while they're away from the desk, it might be a bit hard to get them to opwn the door for you.

This property and the staff blew me away! It massively exceeded my expectations and I would genuinely recommend this location to anyone In puerto Vallarta. This is a hidden gem in the city and I would send any of my friends and family here in a heart beat. Well done Garlands team, you all rock and your facilities are top notch.
