Beautiful room and amazing stay. Not much of a view, but the accomodation and location is perfect to explore Edinburgh and enjoy a vibrant night life. Wish we had more time there! They offered wonderful breakfast options in the morning and coffee. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in Edinburgh.

We spent 13 days in Scotland using Edinburgh and the Eden Locke as our base. We were so happy with Eden Locke. The rooms were just what we needed with a small kitchen and washer dryer. The bathrooms were big and bed was comfy. They stored our luggage while we traveled to other parts of Scotland so we could take less luggage on our tours. Lots of food options in the area and a quick walk to both the bus station and train station. Easy walk to Princes Street Gardens and 20 minute walk to the Royal Mile. Kirsten was very helpful on the desk and gave us lots of good suggestions. We would stay there again if we have the chance to go back to Edinburgh.

Great little place in the New Town area with shops and bars around it. Nice decor and clean and modern. I would say it was pretty noisy at night as there was a party somewhere out the back each night but it was a weekend and they do provide ear plugs and the windows are pretty sound proof when shut. My main issue with the room was the lighting! There were spotlights in the ceiling that were very dim and so it was not possible to get a bright light. There were a variety of lamps which gave a nice ambient light but sometimes you need to see what you are doing and it was basically too dark. Also the usual issue with plug sockets; why don’t they ever have one near the only mirror??! It’s so annoying when you want to dry your hair and it won’t reach to where the mirror is. Other than that would stay again as minor issues.

Both my fiancé and I would have to say our start at Eden Locke was one of the best we’ve ever had at a hotel! Great location - we walked EVERYWHERE; it was a 20 minute walk from Waverley station, 15 minute walk to Edinburgh Castle/the entrance of Old Towne, a street over from Prince Street, and a 30 minute walk to the botanical gardens - very friendly staff, and the room was awesome. It’s also a 20 minute bus ride to the zoo!!! We felt at home in our little studio and it really made the experience of traveling feel a little less foreign as Eden Locke truly became our “home” base to return to street a day full of adventuring sound Edinburgh. The hotel even offers complimentary yoga and they also offer city tours! Eden also had a lovely like cafe in its lobby called Mavyn that offered GF treats for travelers, like myself, who have wheat/gluten allergies!!! Highly recommend! We will definitely be staying at other Locke hotels again due to our exceptional first stay at Eden!

Perfect location in the centre of Edinburgh where everything was easily accessible. Fringe venues nearby but not too close, so no adverse affect on this hotel. Open top hop on/off bus, the green route, was excellent with live commentary and we got to see and learn about the history of the city. The hotel staff couldn’t have been more polite and helpful to make our stay pleasurable. Would thoroughly recommend.

Lovely interiors and quirky design of apartment- very clean and fresh.
Our one-bed apartment had big windows (double-glazed) overlooking a nice street, sunny and much quieter than expected in festival season.
Staff were so welcoming and helpful- providing an extra mattress topper and fan for our comfort.
We loved the beautiful cafe downstairs and would definitely stay here again.

It’s more of an apartment than a hotel. So for example they do not clean the room or
change bed sheets or replace used towels daily etc But the look and feel of this place is amazing. Looks very new and modern. Very well designed. Extremly clean. Cannot beat the location as well. Walkable to All attractions you would want to go to. Amazing dining options all around. Parking is tricky, as it’s paid street parking that’s quite expensive.

Loved the location, a quieter part of Edinburgh but walkable to all the sights. Restaurants and shops all around. Check in was available on-line before arrival, just had to pick up keys at front desk, that was attached to the coffee shop counter. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Room was very nice. A little dark, but very clean and the decor was attractive. The bed was comfortable and I liked having the small, well equipped kitchen. Only complaint was that it was a little stuffy with the windows closed. On our last night it was a little noisy outside the room, so we needed the windows closed. It did block the noise, but even with the fan provided, it still was quite warm and humid in the room.

The only area of improvement would for cafe staff to consistently apply the discount for guests of the hotel ordering before 10am (happened one day and not the other).

Staff very helpful. When dryer wasn’t getting the job done they took our laundry and dried the clothes in their linen dryer. And brought things back very nicely folded. Close to major attractions and transportation. Only caution was that the shower floor was a bit slippery. Bring somewhat handicapped I chose to do axsponde bagged instead. But all else was great.

We loved staying at Eden Locke! The location was perfect…one street over from Rose St (pedestrian area with tons of restaurants, pubs, etc.). We walked to most sites or to transportation hubs. Loved the spacious and modern apartment, which allowed us to spread out and wash clothes for the last stage of our trip. The staff and cafe were also excellent! I will definitely stay at an EL property in the future.

Very nice apartment close to all amenities and many restaurants, BUT 2 major issues:
1 - No AC. Wouldn't be a problem in the cooler seasons, but it was a nice 20 C outside when we were there. Inside the apartment it was uncomfortably hot. They provide a fan and you need to open the windows at night for cooler night air.
2 - Leaving the window open for cool air is problematic because the apartments back onto an open courtyard, inside of which is the outdoor smoking section for the Tiger Lily restaurant next door. The bar is open until 1 AM, so don't expect to get any sleep before that. Lots of loud drunks on the smoking patio until closing.
The apartment itself is fantastic, but for the price we paid for our 2 nights there, I expected a much better experience.
I won't stay there again until they install portable AC units and get a grip on their noisy neighbors. These improvements would make it a 5-star review, but until that happens, I can only give 3 stars.

Mold, smelly, bed sheets like paper, bed uncomfortable, phone broken in room, overall room dirty and unkept. Very disappointed in this hotel. I’ve asked the hotel manager for a callback the night of my stay to address the smell in the bathroom and still no call.
