This is a wonderful place to have a relaxing break. The sleigh room has a great view across the fields and valley. No light polution and no noise at all. Occasionaly deer graze in the field which is lovely to see. Vida is a friendly and attentive host giving great advise on travel and local sight seeing. Her 2 dogs are incredibly friendly which to us is a bonus. Breakfast was plentiful with home made jams, and the cookies were superb. The local pub is good value with very tasty food. Please please do follow Vida's instructions for driving the the Vicarage. You MUST come into the village from the North as the roads to the south are not for the feint hearted and not worth the agro of a short cut.

Beautiful rustic place. Bedroom was a lovely size and the hostess put on a lovely breakfast spread, as well as being very engaging to talk to and extremely helpful in suggestions of what to see and do.

We had one of our best experiences ever at the old Vicarage! We went there on our honeymoon and wanted that perfect British countryside feeling - and that is exactly what we got! The house and the village is stunning, but what surprised us the most was the wonderful service from Vida. To be served breakfast every morning by her was our highlight. And the company from Molly (golden retriever) only made things even more perfect for us. We can warmly recommend this place if you want a beautiful environment and great service and privacy.

An absolute gem of a find in the Cotswolds. Vida has presented a beautiful stay with an even better breakfast. I'll say that dining options are a little limited in the local area, but this comes part and parcel of the remote setting. Its not an issue for someone used to a 5-10 minute drive for everything, but your average city resident may be surprised.

Our stay was simply superb. We stayed in the UK for 2.5 weeks, many of the accomodations were 5 stars but this was by far the best! The breakfast was excellent where the host even made fresh warm pastries! We loved the fresh berries, salmon, eggs etc, so many beautiful high quality choices. Vida is lovely and so thoughtful. Our room was impeccable with views and so comfortable and peaceful. The location is worth the amazing drive there, it’s really the most beautiful place. The Crown Inn pub nearby is a gorgeous old pub that has character and excellent service. Of all places in lakes district, the highlands, London, Edinburgh and York our absolute favourite is the Old Vicarage at Oakridge. Truly wonderful experience, the hosts (mother and daughter) made us feel welcome and part of the family. The two well behaved dogs were a joy to be with. The property was beautiful with ample grounds to stroll. The village is very quiet and has a small friendly pub. We will be back for longer next time. We had a wonderful 5 night stay at this B and B. Lovely big room, gorgeous breakfast, peaceful and a great place to use as a base to see the Cotswolds. Run by a mother and her daughter. Not the cheapest place to stay but is in line with Cotswold prices and certainly one of the best places to stay.

Beautiful location, fabulous property, stunning accommodation, delicious breakfasts and friendly helpful host, nothing was to much trouble!! I cannot recommend this property enough for couples or those wanting to stay in a quiet location that is easily accessible to many beautiful places plus the local pub is only a 10 minute walk if you want to leave the car after a busy day sightseeing or walking, perfect break!!

We stayed for two nights and it was peaceful and comfortable. We chose smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast which was delicious. Everything is spotlessly clean and the people are lovely.

Absolutely wonderful stay at the Old Vicarage for a weekend getaway. We stayed in the Sleigh Room - very warm/cozy, with a large comfortable bed and great bathroom with excellent rain shower. Nice views over the meadow too with some deer knocking around, and only a short walk to the local pub which is a friendly local. There are only two rooms which made the stay very peaceful, and Vida and Alison were very friendly hosts. Breakfast great too, not to mention the dogs. Five stars all round

We loved everything about our stay - the exclusivity and seclusion, the delicious breakfasts, the tasteful decor and the beautiful walks right on the doorstep. But what made it so special was how our host went out of her way for us - she gave us great pub options, detailed walking recommendations, a handwritten note on arrival and restocked the log fire each night. The only difficulty was in deciding which breakfast was best - scrambled eggs and smoked salmon or freshly made pastries?
