Our 3rd visit to this hotel, it is very convenient for Pond's Forge and a short walk into town for shops and restaurants. A very good welcome at reception when we arrived and the offer of a 'breakfast to go' when I mentioned we needed to go out early one morning. Our room felt a little 'tired', there was no hook on the back of the bathroom door to hang a towel, the towel rail didn't appear to work and the main light didn't work. The shower is good and beds comfortable and having twin beds is ideal when sharing with my son! Unfortunately no hand towels in the room but there was plenty of tea / coffee (maybe hot chocolate would be a good addition?) For the price this is a good option for staying in Sheffield but attention to detail would make it even better.

My first night some other guests were louder than I deem appropriate for around midnight but that is my personal opinion so didn’t mention anything to hotel staff.

At the check in I was asked to tap my card with 1p taken so they have a record of my card to charge anything back to after my stay. This was not mentioned anywhere on the website, during booking or in my itinerary. Apparently it will be refunded but it still hasn't over a week later.
Couldn't get the WiFi to work on my laptop. in the envelope given to me when I checked in there was details on how to connect however, the details were no the most up to date.
The room was cold as the windows was left open bare in mind I was on the 3rd floor no safety feature on the windows being full open. No sockets near the bed which was inconvenient for charging my phone

The staff went out there way all of them were fanastic My Freind came from different towns we are disabled she had Electric wheelchair I had mobility scooter they couldnt do enough helped is at breakfast lady what helped us we dont knjw her name she went out of way to help us breakfast was fantastic manger he went out his way sat with us from bottom of our hearts 💕 they were brilliant fantastic that goes for cleaning staff every day came to room we were there for remmberance Sunday as our late husband's were on HMS Sheffield In Falklands war so It ment lot to us we were part of Remmberance Sunday as say staff were brillisnt In every way possible we cant thank all staff enough we deafainatally stay again Thank you from me my Freind

I read previous reviews of this property and believe that they are, at least inaccurate but many were completely misleading. Our stay was comfortable, staff were extremely polite and helpful throughout. The Buffet Breakfast was of a good standard and the young lady serving it was also polite and helpful. Whoever put the review regarding Asylum Seekers is obviously unaware of Sheffield’s multi-cultural community. On further trips to Sheffield, my family and I will definitely avail ourselves of this hotel again. Thank you to the new management and all staff (especially Ajeesh).

Needed a one night stay in Sheffield to visit my son at University
Hotel was just right and as I came by train no problems with parking
Room was large, clean and warm; with a comfy bed too

One lift was out of order and in a bad way during our stay.
Large brown wet stain on the carpet of one of the rooms we stayed in.
Overall, it was comfortable but a tired building which could have been cleaner.

On the website it said we could check in at 11 am. We couldn't not till 3 pm. On the website it said we could have free parking. No free parking ! Booked a twin room . We kept being asked by staff multiple times.
Do we have a child ? After,the 3rd time it does get a little annoying!

Check in was easy enough but the staff member was not enthusiastic or engaging with the customers. Pretty poor really as I’d booked as part of a conference group and if all delegates said the same then I’m sure they’d reconsider in future

The reception looks like it hasn’t been touched in thirty years.
When we arrived we were told our booking didn’t exist and shouldn’t have booked via hotels.com as ‘sometimes it doesn’t work’.
Check in took 30 mins as one receptionist seemed to be texting someone to sort it out. Didn’t get a single apology for the inconvenience.
In fairness, the room was clean but it was nothing to worry home about.

Room was comfortable and clean. The exterior of the hotel is shabby and the windows are filthy. Breakfast was limited, fairly tasteless and luke warm with instant coffee and fruit passed its best.

Not sure how this hotel justifies 3 stars, 1 star would be much more suitable.
Check in was easy but that’s where the positives end. The ceiling of the bathroom was sagging, there was no house keeping, no shower curtain for the bath, “double bed” was 2 singles and had springs poking through, pillows were small and uncomfortable, coffee provided in the room was disgusting, the tv was too small to see from the bed but the remote didn’t work anyway, lifts were painfully slow, breakfast hosts were rude, breakfast choice was very limited, what was at breakfast wasn’t worth eating, building looks shabby, could hear people engaging in personal relations from across the corridor from the room and carpets in the room where covered in dust.
Avoid this hotel at all costs. Not worth saving a small amount of money to stay in this dump

Stay was okay for one night but when I got there the receptionist said my booking was on the system after showing him my confirmation and my bank statement that the money is taken he wanted me to make another booking and pay for it again this took about an hour to resolve only to find he kept spelling my name wrong even though I had spelled it out for him he still refused about I didn’t pay it’s not showing up this caused a lot of plans to be held back which was disappointing also late check out is 10 pound but to stay till 1:00 he wanted us to pay 25 pounds Need new pillows caused those where disgusting also theses no plugs near the bed the lighting is very poor there’s no where of WiFi so you have to go back down to ask since they don’t answer there phone the whole place could do with a revamp

It is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed.
Poor service, non friendly environment and toxic smells around the corridor, the bathroom steams entrapped due to no ventilation and broken shower head as cheap as £4.99 quality. Warning to people using this hotel, beware of your health.cobwebs all over the room.Disappointed and disgusted so call Sheffield Metropolitan hotel.

After checking in quickly there were only 2 beds in the room.but we booked 3. Immediately they swopped our room without fuss.
The room had 3 single comfortable beds in. The bathroom was clean but slightly dated. There was a bit of dust at the side of the bed but i would recommend this hotel for 3 people to share a room. It was close to the town centre and walkable in about 8 minutes from the train station. It was value for money.

It was a little dated, needed an update. The area outside is very pretty, next to the river. Staff were available and helpful. Basic breakfast but still tasty.

Extremely dated building and rooms in need of a serious facelift. There was one tiny bottle of liquid soap for two guests, no shampoo or anything. Paint peeling off crappy laminate cupboards. Smell of stale smoke in the rooms. On the upside room was fairly large and the bed comfortable. It's the perfect hooker hotel

We have stayed for 1 night and I would definitely book another hotel if it was to be for longer. The hotel was dirty, we even found bogies on the towel(!). Not to mention they have only provided 1 towel for both of us. I wouldn't recommend it, neither stay again.

Great Value for money, breakfast was good. The staff just need some extra training when a fire alarm goes off. The rooms had no air con so please bear that in mind if travelling in the summer. We would return though

The beds were comfortable and we didn’t hear much noise from outside or in, this helped us get a great nights sleep.
The included breakfast was excellent.
The hotel is not the best maintained, a touch rough round the edges but given the reasonable price we paid we can overlook this as our stay was on the whole pleasant.

The room was smelly, the toilet could not flush properly. The room was not made up the first night and I was told I had to ask for it to be made up. The place was stinking with smoke even though it said non smoking. It was noisy with doors opening all night and people smoking in the passage where I was staying. Generally unhygienic and unhealthy which is why I moved to a different hotel on the third night.

We are a married couple, out in Sheffield for an event, so needed a nights stay and car parking. OYO did not disappoint. Staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. We had no worries when we arrived, checkin quick, room clean and comfortable. And breakfast included which we couldnt fault at all. Car park secure and discounted via reception. You wont regret your stay, worth every penny, and thank you to all your staff. Super service.
