We loved the setting, overlooking the river from our balconies. We loved our room and its decor - we upgraded to a larger room with a couch and two chairs

We didn’t think the food was all that outstanding for the price. The breakfasts could have had better cereals and strawberries, since they are in season. Staff were very professional and helpful but not very friendly.

Magnifique chambre avec belle terrasse donnant directement sur le Douro et les vignes. Restaurant de grande qualité. Beaucoup de charme pour cet hôtel doté d’un personnel professionnel et sympathique.

Great location, can be easily reached by train from Porto, great breakfast and dinner We could use the pool before and after check-in.

The location was excellent. It’s located by the river with easy access to boat cruises, short walks to amazing quintas and restaurants. The grounds of the hotel was beautifully maintained and a feast to the eyes. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.

We had high hopes of enjoying a stunning view but unfortunately our experience fell short. My expectations were set based on the hotel’s descriptions and the enticing photos. I had specifically chosen this hotel for its promised breathtaking view of the river and terraces. It was supposed to be the highlight of our stay. It was US$450 per night. However, upon entering our room, we were greeted with less than impressive sight - the view of the swimming pool. We asked to change and were given 2 choices that were even less desirable- one with view of the outdoor dining terrace and the other is a musky room with a large balcony and the view was only visible when we step out of the room to the terrace.
