We were in town for a wedding. This rental was easy to find and close to where we needed to go. Perfect for a short getaway!!

This property was in a very quiet and peaceful location! The place was very cozy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The property manager was excellent to communicate with. We would stay at this property again if we were in the area.

Immediately upon walking in my mother and I were greeted with the overwhelming smell of mildew/mold throughout the property. We also discovered stains/hairs on a bed blanket and on pillows. The fridge was also very unclean and had hair in it. There was dust/dirt/dead bugs in window sills and cobwebs various places. I immediately contacted the host and asked for some type of refund, as we would not be staying. He indicated unless there was some major issue we were beyond our cancellation period. I reported all of the issues above, but indicated the main issue was the mildew smell. We left and did not stay at the property and had to come out of pocket for a nearby hotel. When I contacted owner a third time asking him to please issue some kind of refund b/c we did not feel comfortable staying at the property, I was told he reported me to VRBO for an "extortion attempt". Seriously, when a property is unclean and smelly, why would we not stay and still have to pay full amount? Please beware! I have stayed at numerous vacation homes over years and have NEVER had as bad an experience, as uncooperative and unresponsive a host or a single negative review about me as a guest. We had just stayed at another WI VRBO property two weeks prior and it was wonderful. Shame on this property owner - I hope VRBO takes them off the list. BEWARE!!!!

The location was perfect for the start of our Wisconsin tour. Things to note which I missed in the description. No air conditioning on the upper bedroom which made it for a miserable nights sleep as the widows didn’t have any screens on them to open. Fans just pushed hot air. I’m sure not usually a problem but this week it was in high 80s and humid. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was clean. The kitchen could use a deep cleaning. The occupants before us must have cooked and made mess of stove. The fridge could also use a cleaning. Note we couldn’t get any hot water in the kitchen for the 2 days we were here and wasn’t addressed while we were there. The setting was very nice and quiet.
