Pros:
1) just across the train station & bus centre
2) big room - comes with cooking utensils, microwave & fridge with free beverages
3) if you dont need them to clean the room, they give you a complimentary item (choice of free snacks or drink) (note: you can still request for new towels)
4) room rate covers breakfast (they do very nice pancakes on the spot if you want). Also has an onigiri machine
5) can use the washing machine and dryer without any charges
6) staff are helpful and cheerful especially those that i encountered during breakfast. Also they can help you arrange for luggage delivery to your next destination/hotel
7) free black coffee at the reception area plus 3 types of sake which you can try/taste too
Cons:
1) they do not have a website nor email - reply is relatively slow when i made enquiry via the hotels.com message app
2) reception is on 2nd floor so you have to carry your luggage up. However, they do have a signage on 1st floor that says press the bell if you need the staff to help. Luckily, there's an elevator inside the hotel for rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors
Overall, very pleasant stay. I will definitely recommend it to others

This place is across the street from the train station in the town. It was so cute, and all the staff were so helpful. I strongly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Takayama!

The property is right in front of Takayama station and accessible by car. There are coin parking lots nearby as well as souvenir shops. Plenty of dining options as well around the area. We had the opted for breakfast at the hotel and it was very well organized with a selection of Japanese and Western food, very much enjoyed the pancakes and yakitori that were cooked to order.

A super friendly stay with all the necessary amenities and more. Breakfast had extensive selection to suit all tastes (rice ball machine and to-order yakitori sticks were a fabulous surprise and very delicious.
Close proximity to rail station made getting there and around super easy.

We booked a family suite and it was perfect. So comfortable it came with everything we needed and more. The room is very big and they were generous with complimentary drinks and amenities. Our kid had so much fun in the camp room with projector we did not want to leave. Will definitely recommend this place

Excellent service, the lobby is in the second floor and there is no elevator, they were more than willing to help with luggage. Items in refrigerator were free to guest, loundry also free. The room was clean spacious beautiful just beautifully. Breakfast was very good, the best part of breakfast in my opinion, was the Ice cream that was available for breakfast. Overall it was a great, great experience.

Very close to the train and bus station, reception is one floor up the stairs. Normally do not sleep well in dorms but I managed to sleep full night with my ear plugs.

Great location, less than 5 minutes walk from Takayama station. Nice and well explain stafff. Facilities are well organized. Clean, comfortable and quiet.

A surprise stay as I found a discounted rate and enjoyed for the independent individual bed with sliding door. It was clean and comfortable as well as near the JR station and bus stop which was convenient to anywhere. The only drawback was the stairway at the entrance when you carried a heavy luggage.

Lovely hostel just one minute walking from Takayama station.
Very clean, staff super friendly and nice. The common area is very relaxing and welcoming. They have a lot of things to use in the kitchen and a lot of information.

Almost perfect, but not perfect.
Why I said that because everything is almost OK except
1. Rest room you did not use as hotel and hostel that stay in Japan. I think that you may save cost for them but you forgot everyone go to Japan and would like to tough the rest room that it is special only Japan. I do not want to see the rest room like Thailand, Malaysia or other countries in the world.
2. Adjustment of water. I do not understand why you set something about hot and cold water? Because during I took a shower and I think that the temperature is OK for me, but during I took a shower, water became cold immediately. Everytime always be like this. I do not understand I just found this situation in your hostel.
If you improve for rest room (change to Japan style) and adjustment between hot and warm water, your hostel will be perfect for everything.

I love this hostel!! Very convenience to go to JR station and nohi bust center and close with Hida old town. The staff helpful and nice, speak English very well. Room of female domitory pretty big for me. I would recommend !!!
