We have never been to Hawaii before and had lots to consider. Friend’s recommendations of this and other islands. Other locations in Maui. When we found this location and this condo in particular we knew this was the place. And we weren’t disappointed! Short easy scenic drive from the airport. Basically drive right up to our door. Once in the condo we had everything we needed for cooking in our room to chairs and boards for the beach. The beach was 20 feet outside our window and the pool was 30 feet from our Lanai. We couldn’t have had a more perfect location. We slept with our windows open so we could hear the ocean when we went to sleep and when we woke up. It was awesome and relaxing. We watched the sunset from our lanai/lawn, we had 4 whales out front of our bedroom windows, we snorkelled out front of our condo with sea turtles and fish. We walked miles along the shoreline and In my opinion this was the absolute perfect location and best we have seen. Communication with the condo owner was excellent, their responsiveness was excellent and their recommendations for food and the sites was excellent. The food on Maui is awesome and never had one disappointing meal, all in all an awesome vacation with zero complaints and nothing but a desire to return. Kaanapali is a great location. Mahalo to our condo owners and the people of Maui.

This unit is the perfect location. You are steps away from the beach and the pool. With a front row seat to the amazing sunsets. The owners were great to work with ! Can't wait to book another trip.

The property is great with easy access to all amenities. Fully equipped to meet all of our needs. The owners are very attentive and quick to respond to any requests we had. Location is about as good as it gets. Pool was newly redone and beach is right out the door. Would highly recommend. Master mattress needs replaced and Checkin process was rough but I’m sure going to be corrected. But all things considered it was the best place we have stayed in Maui hands down and the includes some very nice hotels. The access to the beach makes this place very hard to beat.

We had a great time. Condo was great. Floors could have been a bit cleaner. But I’m nit-picking the small details and that is more to do with cleaning company!! It was a shame the pool in front of the condo was being refurbished but the ocean was right there so we didn’t bother too much about that. There’s also another great pool close by! Overall it was great and would recommend!

The location of the unit made for a perfect stay. We had coffee on the patio in the morning and cocktails in the evening to watch the sun set.

We’ve stayed at the Hyatt and the Wailer on past trips but enjoyed this the most. Proximity to so many things made this so great. Saw several honu while snorkeling out front. Just perfect really. Clean, comfortable, quiet.

What a amazing place. Perfect location. You can watch the sunset every night from your patio. Very quiet place and lots to do right there on the property. We had so much fun!

This is an outstanding choice for anyone looking for a home base on a trip to Maui. The unit is extremely clean with a beautiful view of the ocean, just steps from the beach and pool. It is conveniently located, close to a grocery store and restaurants. The owners have thought of every detail with beach chairs, pool and beach toys, face masks and snorkeling equipment. The kitchen and baths are also well equipped with all you need. Look no further! We highly recommend for groups of friends, couples or families.

We had a great stay— condo was clean and well stocked. (Only thing we found we needed was a sponge to hand wash dishes). We absolutely loved the location near the beach and pool. We had a lot of fun —celebrated a birthday here and loved watching the sunsets from the lanai.

The location simply can't be beat. The property overall was great with parking close to the unit. The unit was perfect for families spanning any age. There was easy access to the beach, pool and restaurant as well as the grocery store across the street. The chairs and beach toys were very helpful. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The location of this condo was incredible. 20 steps from the beach or the pool. A little piece of heaven.

My family (5 adults and an 11 year old) had such a wonderful time at Jim’s place. The location of the condo on the property truly could not be better. Coffee on the lanai every morning and watching the sunset each evening was magical. The unit was quiet, couldn’t hear any neighbors above us or next to us. The condo comes with beach chairs, boogie boards an umbrella, snorkeling gear for use during your stay, huge plus. I would suggest having more bath towels and kitchen towels on hand. Since there were so few we found ourselves doing lots of towel laundry (thankfully there’s a washer and dryer!). And the pull out sofa bed could use a newer mattress. The only hiccup in our stay was the water leak we experienced. The fire sprinkler in the kitchen started dripping. Constantly. I went to the front desk, I called Jim and the property management company. Since it was already late, 10:30 Hawaii time, no one was answering immediately. The maintenance team on site disassembled the sprinkler and found where it was leaking from. They rigged a gutter to bring the water out to stop it from pooling up in the soffit. We had the water dripping into a Rubbermaid tub meant for sand toys which we had to dump a few times in the night. The next day a plumber came and fixed it right up while we were out. While it certainly put a damper on our night it was fixed quickly. I was in communication with Jim throughout the entire process. Even with the water leak we had a wonderful stay and we would definitely return again, hopefully without a leaky sprinkler ;)

Don't think twice -- just book this if it's available. It's directly in front of the beach. Literally includes all amenities you could ask for (including the resort accommodations). At a great location with close proximity to all the nearby beaches. My family and I had an excellent time during our stay and we will 100% return to this exact listing when we visit in the future.

What an amazing property! I could actually hear the waves at night even with the window closed! Located just feet from the ocean and one of the two pools. Being on the first floor there was more foot traffic and people actually set up chairs right outside the bedroom window at sunset (not the fault of the property, but just rude people), but overall not too bothersome. Convenient to all Maui sites and the guidebooks in the condo were a great help! Plenty of close parking and kitchen was well stocked with anything needed for cooking. I would definitely stay here again!

Location, location!!! We love the smaller vibe vs a large resort. This condo is ground level right next to the ocean. The beach out front is a little rocky but good for snorkeling and my kids still swam and had a great time. 10min drive to Black Rock for snorkeling and pristine sand beach. There are two pools and one more suited for kids which has great family vibe. . Close to everything you need. Beds comfortable. Loved the beach toys, snorkeling equipment and extra sunblock available.

We rented this condo for the 6 of us (4 Adults, 2 year old, and 5 month infant), and it was perfect bc of the location - beach / pool were barely 20 steps away, and sunset was just outside the door. We already miss hearing and sleeping to the waves, extremely soothing and therapeutic! We went to Costco for food and cooked meals every day bc the kitchen has plates, utensils, pots, and baking pans so you can cook practically anything. Then the owner Jim also had a bunch of beach chairs and beach toys for us to use. I’ll note that the beach is just steps from the Condo, but the water can be rough and has rocks so not the best for kids, but my 2 year old had so much fun making sandcastles on beach and putting feet in water as the waves would hit. We also enjoyed the live music entertainment at the pool’s bar/restaurant since we could listen while having dinner. Overall, we had the best time, and we will be back soon - thank you Jim!!

Great location. Loved being next to ocean and pool on this ground floor unit. Kitchen was amazingly equipped. Lots of spices, everything needed to cook meals if you choose to stay in. Lots of beach chairs etc. Jim was easy to work with.

Jim wasn’t lying when he said steps away from the beach and pool. We loved every minute here. Jim was great to work with. We’d definitely stay her again.

Kaanapali Shores is a beautiful property and this unit is probably the best in the complex. Being lulled to sleep by the waves every night is the best feeling ever. The unit is nice–although a little dated. It was perfect for our family of four adults and two teenagers. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was functional, washer and dryer came in so handy, and you certainly can't beat the oceanfront location. That being said, there was always a crowd outside. 6 a.m.– families with little kids running around screaming. 2 a.m.– people partying outside like rockstars. And, forget about sunset ... we tried every night to sit out on the lanai, but swarms of people come out to watch the sun sink into the horizon (no, I don't blame them) and crowd along the walkway to take photos and STAND right in front of you, blocking the view. If you don't mind the crowds (or it's not the height of the summer season) I would highly recommend this location. Maui itself has changed a lot, though. There are crowds and traffic EVERYWHERE. It took us over an hour of crawling in bumper to bumper traffic on the highway to get to our snorkel boat out to Molokini (which I would totally skip–the snorkeling right off the condo is SO much better ... and FREE!). It took my husband and son over six hours to finish a round of golf (they teed off at 7 a.m.). I don't know about you, but living in L.A., I go on vacation to skip the crowds and traffic. Anyway, if you're dead-set on Maui, this is a nice place to be. If you're looking for more of a "get away from it all" vacation, try the Big Island or Kauai.

Perfect location for all activities. We loved being next to the pool and steps away from the beach. Close to snorkeling, blowhole and boating excursions. There is a shopping center across the street with lots of food options. Nice and clean.

This unit is very clean and the perfect location to the pool and walkway at this resort. Very relaxing and has everything you need. The resort does fun things by the pool on certain nights and had live music out by the pool almost every night. It was awesome and gives you the feel of Hawaii. We would definitely stay here again!

What an amazing location. This has to be the best unit within the Ashton Kanapali Shores or any other resorts for that matter. We were two families with 3 small kids (2 and under) and hence worked out great. The kids had ample space right outside the unit to play in the grass, with the birds and we did not have to plan ahead to be near water as we were right there. The two trees outside give a nice gateway view and it was a common spot for people to take pictures so it felt we were right at a viewpoint location! :) There is a combination of rocky shores and a small sand beach, but it was also a pretty good location to snorkel. The unit also comes with most kitchen amenities you'll ever need along with kids toys and water gears that came in handy for self snorkelling. Finally, the owners made it a very seamless experience before we arrived and we never had any issues to have to contact them during our stay. Would definitely stay again if we come back. Highly recommend for folks with kids as well as for a more relaxed experience.

Jim was great to deal with and the unit was perfect for our vacation. The kids pool was amazing and we spent most days there at some point. This unit was situated perfectly because you can park just outside of it (easy to load the car with everything for the beach), grass out front the kids played on while we made meals and we could watch the ocean while eating or playing cards while the kids slept. This unit has everything you need for your trips to the beach (chairs, umbrellas etc) and the kitchen had everything you could ever need to make meals. I wouldn't hesitate to book here as it made for an amazing vacation for our family.

WE STAYED AT THIS CONDO FROM SEPT 28-OCT 5 AND I HAVE TO SAY IT WAS THE NICEST CONDO THAT I HAVE EVER STAYED IN ON MAUI , IT WAS SO RELAXING AND IT WAS SO NICE TO JUST WALK OUT THE DOOR AND BE AT THE BEACH OR AT THE POOL , WE REALLY ENJOYED HAPPY HOUR AT THE POOL FROM 2-5 , THAT WAS OUR DAILY ROUTINE BESIDES LOUNGING , THE CONDO HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED FOR OUR STAY AND ALL THE BEDS WERE VERY COMFORTABLE , THERE WAS A CLOSET FULL OF WATER TOYS ....... I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN FOR SURE , THANKS JIM FOR ANSWERING ALL OF OUR QUESTIONS SO FAST AND YOUR PLACE IS AMAZING !!!!!!!

This unit was perfect location, steps from the beach and pool at the Aston Kanapali resort, accessibility and few one of the best units on the resort. Plenty of shopping walking distance for groceries and eating out. One restruant on location. The beach is soft sand, it has few rock but not many my kids and us went with no shoes, we did bring water shoes to safe, but not needed. The unit is well equipped and nicely updated I heard other there are not so nice so be careful use pictures. Overall very happy with our vacation and chosen this spot. Thank you Jim, Mahalo!
