Obvious damp issue in the room but as I was in a hurry I had to drop my stuff and get out to meet people. I didn’t have time to walk back down to reception to highlight the issue and see if there was another room. When I returned later that evening the damp smell was till prevalent but this was late evening. I settled down for bed and tried to get to sleep which was difficult due to the smell. I found discarded food wrappers below the bedside table which was disappointing. I did mentioned the damp smell at check and I believed it to be the carpet but the receptionist seemed not overly concerned and said she’d pass my comments onto the manager and they would be in touch. I’ve not heard anything since.

Enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Bed was comfy and had a good night sleep! Only slight downside was the lack of a USB socket to charge the phone but that’s being picky

The bathroom was not clean, hair and half used shampoo bottle left on the floor…..looked like it had been ‘cleaned’ in a rush. Lighting in the room was dull and the carpet was stained. Staff all seemed to be in a rush and treated us in a very robotic fashion. I would not choose a Link hotel again to be honest

All very good, room spacious and all very easy. Only problem we had was when my son left his room to get something from our car. he was told to ring the bell to gain entrance back. A few minutes later he returned, rang the bell, could see the person on reception but no one came. Apparently, she could not see him or the other guests waiting outside as she was short sighted and could not hear the bell she asked him to ring because the music was too loud!! She then walked off to another part of the hotel, leaving them at the door. He called me out of my bed at 12.15am, to get dressed and go and find her. Good job he had me there, who knows how long they would have waited??

The hotel location is great for the town centre, university and access to the motorway. Our room was ok, they are not very sound proof, especially if you are on the ground floor, every footstep can be heard from the floor above. Check out time is quite early when compared to other hotels and whilst a late check out is available for a set fee, they cannot guarantee how much longer you can have the room for.

Good parking. Good location. Nice room and good shower. Food way below average. Service poor. No staff at reception or bar or restaurant for a while. People waiting for attention and staff chatting but oblivious to duties. No apparent supervision. Check out early morning had no interaction and staff had no interest. Its all in the detail...

Second time I stayed here and this time not good experience. Waited in the lobby just to be checked in with no staff in sight. Once in the room the air con did not work very hot night with not so comfortable bed(which was two singles joined together)..

Second time at this hotel for location and comfort. On booking or at check in was not informed that the air con was not working as being replaced. Had I known this I would have booked an alternate hotel. The room was a sauna - went to reception and was offered a fan but this made no difference

The room was noisy, noise from room/cupboard/plant room next door throughout the night. Had to switch off air-conditioning as it was too noisy, then it clicked all night, which was even worse.
Overall room was not very clean, bed not made very well, hole in the bedding and what looked like sick on an apparently clean towel.
Very disappointing and would not stay here again.
