when booking our room, the picture of the balcony did not match what we actually got. The bathroom was tiny. &
why did we have to pay $ 27.00 a night for parking ?

Be careful when booking this hotel. Part of the hotel is renovated, but the other part is a run down motel badly in need of renovations/updates. Our "traditional suite" was accessible by a dark creepy hallway, had broken blinds, old and dingy carpets/furniture/tile, beyond outdated appliances etc. Even the pictures online of the "traditional" rooms do not show how old and dingy these rooms truly are. The rooms/suites on this side of the hotel should not be available to book, especially at over $400/night, until they are also renovated and updated.
We requested a room change and the staff was helpful and able to move us to the renovated side of the hotel. However, we had to cram our family of 5 into a small king room for a night. We ended up buying air mattresses to make it work as that was still a better option than the outdated and dingy suite. You can't beat the location and the staff was friendly but the hotel needs to stop booking the motel 6 style rooms.

The website does not display the actual hotel photo. The hotel is run down our bed was very uncomfortable the hallways and stairs were dirty not what we expected for over $400 a night

The room was dark and moldy and it looked nothing like the photos. I would be very careful to book a room in the new wing, which I think is much nicer and featured in the lead photos.

This hotel is very much a bait and switch. They show off their brand new rooms but 98% of the rooms are old, not well taken care of and feel like a road side motel.

Good location, enjoyed walking in the area and seeing all of the seals. Hotel is very old, and worn. Staff we encountered were all very pleasant and accommodating.

Easy access to the beach, parking, library & check-in areas. Since the property is built into the Cliff, I wasn't able to access the pool and recreation areas due to the stairs. I was readily accommodated with my mobility needs an could hear the seals and sea lions when I opened up the patio. When closed, not a sound was heard. Perfect for easy access to the beach and shopping.

Hotel very misleading, you think you are getting a room in the updated section but instead they send you up the hill to the outdated 1980’s “timeshare”. Old, musty, smelly. Carpet felt wet….it was like a Motel 6 but paying 4 star prices. If you can’t stay in the upgraded section, don’t stay here.

The picture of the room we selected for reservation was not even close to the room we stayed in which is false advertisement. They put us in the run down, pink side which was quite frankly awful. The furniture was beat up and in bad condition. Everything was awful other than the location. Will NEVER stay there again.

The AC unit in the wall only cooled one room and the other separate room had no air conditioner or ceiling fan. Also the room next to us ,
Looked like a janitor or cleaning supply room, it kept making louds noises through out the night and slamming the door very loud and kept waking us up. Our stay was horrible due to the condition of the rooms/ other issue was I almost slipped inside the tub before I even grabbed any soap. Slippery tub.
