The pet friendly room was better than most. There were gluten free breakfast options.
Check out was disappointing. I waited at the front desk for almost 10 minutes waiting for someone. Her explanation was that she had to do dishes - no apology.

Breakfast was sparse and poor quality. Desk service poor. No one around and there was a note but waited at least 10 min. Understaffed. Entire building seemed sparse. Not very welcoming

Arrival to room was met with heavy mold musty smell when door opened! So bad that air fresheners were needed! Plus allergy medication for partner. Main amenities were good, bed was good, way past time for a remodel to be done! I am professional contractor so have 20 years experience in industry. Would review room prior to booking.

We appreciated the connecting rooms, indoor pool, friendly staff, and hot breakfast. It is close to Menards, Walmart, & University Mall for shopping.

This was one of the dirtiest places I have stayed in a long time. I have stayed at many country inn and suites. If this was my 1st I would never stay in one again. The place stunk and was very dirty. The bathroom door didn’t even shut. They didn’t have any usb chargers in the room. The shower/tub was very slippery about fell and the tub backed up during a shower above my ankles. It should have been a $39.95 a night room not well over a $100. Waste of money and felt dirty even after a shower.

The staff was very friendly and met all of our needs without hesitation!! The room was certainly acceptable for our needs. We enjoyed our time and will not hesitate to book a return visit when attending another South Bend Cubs game!

There was rarely any staff at the front desk and I had to wait 10 minutes the first time and 20 minutes the second time before they returned and then the staff member had the audacity to be rude to me regarding the situation. I was late for work because it took 55 minutes to check in.
First attempt/key card did not work. Second attempt/key card gave me access to a room that had not been cleaned at all. Third attempt/key card was for a room with sticky floors, sticky surfaces, and a sticky remote---I just gave up and cleaned it myself.
Cleaning staff slammed doors instead of closing them.
During the 3rd day of a 4 day stay, they began replacing the room door locks on my floor. There was no mention of this during check in or when I made the reservation. I was working third shift at a nearby hospital and needed to sleep during the day while they pounded and drilled for hours and hours over two days.
Check out was quicker, but key card access from the parking lot to my side of the building was terminated before I checked out, which required walking all the way around to the front of the building to get the rest of my luggage.
I spoke with the general manager and he did not seem to understand that, as a paying customer at his hotel, I was entitled to a reasonably quick check in and a room where I could actually sleep.... he just made excuses and pointed out things I could have done to make the situation better. He was completely tone deaf to my basic customer expectations.

Honestly, for the price and lication its a great value hotel, yes it could have a more modern feel and it is being updated...i understand the negative reviews, but also they are a little harsh...service was great, breakfast was a typical hotel meal, overall solid stay

The young lady at the desk was completely flakey; couldn’t answer a question, and had a young man with her who was standing outside the entrance of the hotel drinking out of a full bottle of vodka straight from the bottle. The furniture in the room was actually falling into pieces. One of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had.

The first room we were assigned wasn’t even ready and we showed up well after check in, the 2nd room was out of service and the 3rd just wasn’t clean enough, curtains didn’t close and the elevator wasn’t working. It is hard for my dad to walk so us going to the second floor wasn’t ideal. They did say they are going thru a remodel but I was not happy at all. Will appreciate that they didn’t make it hard to to leave or get a refund.
