Great location. Centre of all the tourist stuff and in line with all the shops. The hotel was comfortable, clean, warm and helpful with suggestions. Breakfast was healthy and available if leaving early in the morning. It was peaceful and a very enjoyable stay. Please note, cars are unable to stop in front of the hotel, as it is a pedestrian area, so bear in mind if mobility issues. But, close to restaurants and bus stops. Would stay there again.

Loved the hotel. The staff was amazing, the rooms were clean and amenities were great. Perfectly located, just be mindful that your taxi will not drop you off right in front of the hotel as the location is in a pedestrian street.

Hotel was clean and located in an area that was close to shops and restaurants-only thing about this is at night it is noisy since you must open windows to cool down and air room out.

Great property with great location! Right on the main shopping strip and awesome cafe bakery right next door! Easy to navigate our day trips using this as a base. Very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel!

My husband needs to take medicines with warm water, I asked for a water container for hot water, the front desk girl offered us a bottle, very caring to help out, thank you. I also asked for wake up call for our early flight, the gentleman called at 6:00am. Everything was well done!

We enjoyed our 5 night stay in a junior suite. The accommodations were excellent and the staff were great from the early check in for our room to the daily service. The breakfast is good and there is plenty to choose. The location of the hotel along a major pedestrian and shopping street is also a great bonus. Easy walk to the downtown area and major attractions in the city.

The Sand Hotel was a wonderful place in a great location of Reykjavik. The rainbow road and church were right around the corner and the street of the sand hotel was full of restaurants and shops. The staff was super helpful with transportation needs such as booking bus tickets and calling taxis. Additionally, the complimentary breakfast was delicious and super fresh! Overall, this was a wonderful stay!! Could not recommend more :)

Lovely place! Just wish it had a mini fridge and allowed us to have a fan when the room got very warm, but it was only available for an extra cost.
