Very close to the Train station. I picked this place so that I can walk to the train station with all my luggages early in the morning. You cannot get any closer than this ! Facilities are good, clean room. The only inconvenience was the bathroom had an old fashioned ( but very good condition) bath tub- so you need to take a shower with extra care to make sure that you do not to spread water all over.

We love this hotel. The staff are very friendly. The hotel has old finishes but very well maintained, and CLEAN! It is just next to the train station and the downtown shopping area is jut steps away. They also provided us transportation tickets for free so we could just jump onto bus or train anywhere. Love the hotel and Lugano!

We enjoyed our stay there! Very convenient location, friendly staff, transportation, everything was excellent! A big plus was they let us to storage the luggage until our train departures! Definitely is a great place to stay and I’ll be back soon!

Staff were very friendly but thereafter very disappointing. The rooms were basic at best and in much need of renovation. Fortunately we were only there for 1 night.

Very basic hotel. Paid for a double room and was given a basic room. Couldn’t move in it for two people. Complained to front desk and they moved us to the double that we paid for. Make sure you request a balcony if you book or you will not be given one. Very tiny balcony but nice view overlooking the city. Free tickets for the funicular to the main part of town. Was only provided with a single sheet which only covered half the bed. Disappointing and uncomfortable bed and room.

Overall this hotel provides us everything that we needs. The good point is also the property near the train station. The room is clean and tidy, staff is very helpful and friendly.

My stay at Hotel Besso was a wonderful experience. The employees were gracious, thoughtful, and hard workers. Shout out to Cristian simultaneously working the front desk, making sure breakfast was in order every morning, and answering any question that guests had (in 4 different languages)
The hotel is quiet, clean, and in a convenient location in front of a bus stop and 5 minute walking distance from train station. There is also a good pizza restaurant around the corner.
A full breakfast (muesli, cereal, cured meats, croissant, fruit) costs 10 CHF per person and is filling, delicious, and a valuable meal option considering the high cost of living Switzerland is known for.
I highly recommend this hotel and would only stay here if I ever return to Lugano.

The only thing I remember is the receptionist not letting me stay after my check out in the lobby, because my train was leaving 3 hours later, so I had to go to a different place. I found that strage. I guess overall the stay was ok. not bad nothing special.
