We got there at 3pm for our check in but they told us they just need to fix one thing. I thought it was just a quick fix but they were in and out until 530pm to fix an outlet in the washroom. Looks like they just reno the washroom but they didn't bother cleaning the tiles or the sink after fixing the outlet.

Great place !

Very nice staff and clean room. Enjoyed being in Town Site, just north of Powell River. Very quiet, with brewery and market nearby.

The beds were comfortable and the renovations look good, but the fixtures in our bathroom were all loose, no hair dryer and the picnic area with bbqs shown in the photos were nonexistent. Great breakfast place nearby at the Old Courthouse

I can only describe what happened during our stay. Nobody in reception at check in around 3.30 pm. Had to ring an outside hotel number on my cell to find someone. Both beds had terribly stained bottom sheets; had to go find clean sheets ourselves and remake the beds. only 1 cup supplied with no spoons for stained coffee maker. Room does have 32 inch TV but picture restricted to about 14 inches. Asked for it to be fixed but told the whole motel is like that and nothing can be done. A/C was very good Very few electrical outlets in room along with poor lighting. Shower was scalding hot with no way to cool down. No way to have a cool shower on a hot day. My opinion is hot water is way too hot. Motel appears to have been re modelled but lose fittings in bathroom etc. Staff did not seem to know much about the area, no idea where to get breakfast for example, but excellent restaurant just across the road. No phone in room so had to try and find someone if help needed. No inside nighttime security lock and main door lock hard to operate. Sadly not our best experience.

A good basic accomodation with restaurants & theatre within 2 minutes walk. Easy check-in/check-out. Although booked for 3 adults had to go back for a third towel and there was no spare toilet paper roll. There was a faint but noticable smell (cig or weed smoke?) in the room and the floor felt slightly dusty. Also found outside sounds could be easily heard.

I travel extensively for work and pleasure. I have reasonable expectations for this type of hotel/motel. They failed basic standards on every single metric. I would recommend staying almost anywhere else in Powell River. We rented 2 rooms for 2 nights, and left after the first night. Cleanliness: 1) In one room, both beds had been slept in and the sheets not changed. Significant hair, fresh blood, and a link from a bracelet. When brought to attention of front desk, I was told I was wrong, and the sheets were clean. I have photos to the contrary. They did change the sheets. 2) Neither tub had been cleaned between guests – one had a used bar of soap, the other still had a towel on the tub spout. 3) The floors were not swept or vacuumed any time in recent history, let alone mopped. Under the beds were a particular treat. 4) Just generally dirty, despite recent attempts at renovation. Amenities: 1) One room was missing the TV. 2) The kitchenette was a stocked with a mismatch of old and chipped dishware – think beer glasses and cheap and tired odds and ends from thrift store. Could be charming – but was not. 3) Loud air conditioners couldn’t keep room cool, even when only 23 degrees outside. Weird stuff: 1) As per another review, reception said they couldn’t find the reservation (booked through Expedia 6 months ago), and then tried to charge an additional $50. A common scam here? 2) They were spray painting the roof when we were on site... including with cars in the parking lot
