Very friendly host and excellent location

We arrived at the given address and wasn’t able to find it. We rang the provided number and was informed that there was work going on in the room booked and we were to go to another address. On arrival the member of staff claimed he had called me earlier to inform me of the change. I didn’t receive any such information. The accommodation was fine if slightly tatty but we enjoyed our stay. However we should have been given the choice weeks previously whether to accept the changes and not been put through the stress of not knowing what was going on. My feeling was that they overbooked. Potential bookers, be aware that this is likely to happen again..... It’s unfair not to get exactly what you paid for.

I had a great experience at Relais Incantesimo Vaticano. The hotel is steps away from St Peter's, at the heart of the city, and close to local markets. The breakfast was great. The staff was professional and excellent all around. Everything went extremely smoothly. The room was just perfect: professionally decorated, spotless, and well-equipped with a great ensuite bathroom. I highly recommend this place. A++++++

I had a great experience at Relais Incantesimo Vaticano. The hotel is steps away from St Peter's, at the heart of the city, and close to local markets. The breakfast was great. Location: Finding this hotel was easy enough but it is in a gated apartment complex. You need access through the first gate and then the doors to the actual building. Per the instructions, I gave advance notice of my arrival time (requested was 1 hour advance notice, I provided 1.5 hours). I called and messaged when I arrived and could not get in touch with anyone to let me in. After standing at the first gate long enough, I was able to get in by following someone going in. Then, I followed suit with the locked door of the building by following someone coming out. Eventually, I made it to the outside of the door of the hotel and proceeded to ring the doorbell/knock. I continued to call and no one picked up. Finally, someone picked up and said they would be there in 15 minutes. It was a big nuisance just to check in! Amenities: The hotel indicates offsite parking available. I asked no less than 4 times for the address of the parking garage prior to my arrival. I never received the address until I was able to check in. There was a fridge stocked with water (natural and sparkling). You could help yourself. Noise: The walls are thin and you can hear sounds from the outside quite easily.
