This is by far the best hotel in all of Barranquilla! I have stayed here multiple times since they opened and the service, amenities, staff, etc is all top shelf. Yes, rates are a little higher than other hotels in Barranquilla but as we say in the USA, you get what you pay for.

The booking on hotels.com was very misleading. I booked what I thought was a room rate with taxes and fees included. But as a foreign traveler in Colombia, you are supposed to have a waiver (with your visa stamp) from the VAT 20% tax. But when I got to the hotel, I was faced with having to pay either a 20% tax on my room rate (ad additinal $66 or sign up for a buffet breakfast package that was $17/day. Nothing in the Hotels.com listing explained this.
