Location was perfect to attend the Iowa State Fair. Thought the price was high, but prices always go up when there is an event.

The decor was nice and the beds were comfortable.

The whole reason I booked here is because I was traveling with two kids and told that they had a pancake machine. The breakfast was disappointing and not on par with the level of hotel or the cost of the room in my opinion.

Beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. Breakfast was not included but they had a good breakfast for a moderate price in the Bistro in the lobby. There are a couple of nice restaurants near by (an Outback and a fish restaurant). Hotel was outside of Des Moines but right off the freeway.

The air conditioner in the room was noisy. It was cool enough outside so we turned it off and cracked a window (we were on the 3rd floor).

The location couldn't be better. breakfasts, too, though a bit pricy when most other hotels similar to this one offer free buffet breakfasts.

I was a guest there for 3 nights. My room was not cleaned or bed made any of those nights. The toilet seat was clearly about to fall off, something too obvious to miss hade there been a room cleaner that had be paying attention. The front desk staff was not suited to what I expected of a hotel like this and one that costs so much night. All were a bit sloppy in dress and in dealing with guests. A take it or leave it attitude. Maybe this comes from dealing with guests who are staying there solely because they are there for one night and se it as just a place to sleep.

I like the close proximity to restaurants and shopping areas. Also I enjoyed the pool and whirlpool. Although the pool was smaller than I expected, I expected, nonetheless we enjoyed it.

I didn't like that the breakfast was not included in pricing. My previous experience was staying at Courtyard by Marriott, have been breakfast was offered and included in the pricing. It's just sad to see a lovely eating space area, that wasn't really open too much or or offered Breakfast included.

Breakfast was a bit spendy. They need to check at their sundries area for expired dates. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay.

The young man that was working when I checked in was very considerate and professional.

When I got to my room, the air conditioning was not working. So when I went to supper, I informed the young man working at the front desk. He said he would have someone check it out. When I got back from supper he said that he needed to move me to a different room, as the air was not working properly. I went and got all of my stuff and moved. When I went to go to sleep, I realized that the pillow were feather. (I had requested a non feather room when I booked it online. The first room had the correct pillows. The second one did not). By this point in the day, I just used a small decorate pillow for the night. When I checked out, I informed the gal at the front desk about the mix up. She was quite rude and said that my request for non feather pillows was not in their system.
