Clean and modern

It was very close to union squire and a variety of restaurants on walking distance.

The charged us $25 per room per day and asked us to use it in hotel restaurant. this charge was not mentioned clearly at the time of booking through booking.com. The system kept charging my credit card nearly on a daily basis for small amounts and when I checked with them they said this is an automated charge by our system to maintain deposit!! They charged me daily for the mini bar which I didn't use. I had to check with the front desk every two days to remove the extra charges on my credit card. I had to extend my stay so I did a new reservation. They charged me for the checkout and check-in date twice. When I checked the bill and asked them they gave me the same answer that these are automated transactions by the system!! So if you do not check your bill they will wipe your credit card. They almost used my whole credit card limit for their transactions. They charge us too much money with no service at all. WIFI was not free so we called the front desk and said it is free click on the $14.95 daily. then we discovered they charged us $14.95 daily for each room for the WIFI. House keeping are very slow an cleaning is not efficient. They don't have clean my room tag to hang on the door to request room cleaning. We go out early in the morning and we come back around 1:00 pm and the rooms are not clean, we called them and the answer was that the hotel is fully booked!! another day they answered that there is many checkouts and they are a priority!! What kind of a hotel doesn't know how to manage the hotel capacity. we had to call them everyday to request housekeeping. The first night the AC/ heater was not working in one of the rooms, it was very cold we couldn't sleep we had to ask for extra blanket. The blankets they use are very light they don't make you feel warm, I had to wear socks. I had to call them the next day to send maintenance. I spent half of my stay calling them and checking my bill with the reception.

The location is right in the middle of town and has easy access to all tourist spots….the valet service was excellent.

More food options … especially late night Crime seems to be high in the area and at night feels unsafe

The Location as well as room size were good.

Although I had booked for 2 Adults and 2 kids inclusive of breakfast, I was informed at the reception that the breakfast applies to 2 guests only and each guest is entitled to a breakfast allowance of US$ 25 each only. Anything consumed beyond that shall be charged. This was never mentioned in our booking. Although the rooms were probably renovated but the headboard for beds is a big mirror which has not been changed and looks rusted and very old.

Location and it being a JW marriott hotel

The assumption of it being a Jw marriott, service would be excellent but i was wrong. Staff were not friendly at all!!!! Compared to the marriott union square and both being a marriott property, this JW staff were very obnoxious, unfriendly and not welcoming. The marriott union square staff are far more friendly, more accommodating and more approachable! We stayed at the studio suite and the air condition unit was hitting us straight at our faces!!!

Great location. Nice clean facility and rooms.

A bit understaffed. The hotel has only one porter to help with the luggage which is a bit tough for a 20+ floor hotel. They charged and extra 25++ USD per room per night (we had 3 rooms for 2 nights) and called it “destination fees”. It was not something I was aware of in the booking details, and it had to be used towards expenses in-house like room service, restaurants etc, but the reception staff refused to let me use it on check out day claiming that it’s the hotel policy (even though this was never explained nor written anywhere on the document handed to us). Also, the hotel insisted on charging a hold on my credit card of 150 USD per room per night to cover incidentals and refused other options like clearing minibars or locking the account so we can pay for what we buy when we buy it. Overall, not a very pleasant experience.

Tried to order breakfast up and they said it would be a 2 hour wait. No way that's sustainable.

Needs robes.

Location is very good, 1 block from union square, very close to market street and the street car main stop,walkable to chinatown. The Hotel inside is beautiful, Room is VERY spacious, gets cleaned everyday. Coffee maker is really good, pods gots refilled everyday as well as water bottles. Hotel Staff is all ver nice and friendly, no complain about anybody. You get $25 voucher to use everyday on room service or restaurant, free dessert everyday from 7-9pm, also got 2 free tickets to use on street car!! Awesome Hotel, if I ever go back To SF , will definitely book here. Thank you JW Marriot

The fee you have to pay per day plus tax which is non refundable, and the $150 per day that they put on hold on your card which is never mentioned when you book, I think it should be mentioned so you are prepared for it. SF has TOO MANY HOMELESS PEOPLE, so be prepared, nothing the hotel can do about it

The room was spacious enough. The queen beds were very comfortable. The shower was great and the bathroom was very spacious as well. The location of the hotel in Union Square was excellent. The hotel was very close to shops, restaurants, and local transportation.

The toilet area did not have a door for privacy. There was no trash can in the room just in the bathroom. Would have liked to have a full room service menu in the room itself.
