The room was pretty nice, and clean.
The check-in was horrible. None of the staff seemed to really know what they were doing. They did a lot of rummaging around with paperwork, running back and forth to another room and questioning out loud what they need to do. It took several minutes to check each person in and the man who checked us in was very rude to us and to the people ahead of us, it seemed mainly because he didn't know what he was doing. The other woman was excessively chatty and wasted a lot of time, even showing pictures on her phone to one couple while there was a line at the counter. There were only three guests ahead of us and we waited over a half hour for service. I have never seen anything like it at any hotel and would not stay there again.

Location, 5 minutes to PDX, airport shuttle with kind driver, friendly staffs. Jaiden was awesome, wonderful breakfast with verity of items, clean room.. I love dry sauna but no time to use this time, just about everything was good, definitely I will stay again.

Our stay at the Portland Best Western Pony Soldier Inn was enjoyable: the staff were personable and courteous; the room was spacious, sparkling clean, attractively appointed, with high quality bedding and thick towels; the entire facility was well-maintained and security -conscious (the doors to the lobby are locked in the evening); even the art on the walls (photographic prints) was a pleasant surprise. And the complimentary breakfast served in the cute little dining room was outstanding - with many options (biscuits and gravy! Waffles! Eggs, sausage links, cold/hot cereals! A plethora of juices, teas, etc!) and friendly staff replenishing platters and bowls as soon as they emptied. The pool and hot tub area, located in an enclosed inner courtyard, was pristine and absolutely beautiful, the concrete dotted with tubs of bright petunias and lush greenery. Staying here was an absolute pleasure!

Welcome wasn’t friendly but rude. We were rushed with check - in without explaining, they did not let my husband to use his debit card to pay because the reservation was on my name. Very humiliating. So I had to pay with my card though on the reservation there already was my husband’s card and it was accepted at the time of booking.
Breakfast was a really bad surprise. I was up and went for a breakfast 15 min after opening and found out the food to be barely luke warm. There was only one selection of tea. The biscuits were stone hard and cold. Bananas were green and they served the smallest, the most tasteless apples for a fruit. Couldn’t believe it. How hard it is to have the food to be served hot and have fruit for breakfast and more selection of tea than only one.

Good location, breakfast and comfortable parking.
I didn't like that the staff started harassing me and my travel partner to get out of the hotel minutes before the checkout time. First they sent a maid to knock on the door and I told her to give us a minute because we were looking for a lost earring before leaving. Despite this they sent a second person to our door, even though the first one had already seen our stuff gathered to leave. After the second person they started to phone the room. I didn't even want to answer because I was starting to feel very uncomfortable and annoyed. I know y'all have to clean the rooms for the next guests, but don't start to annoy guests before 11am and keep harassing them for being like 4 or 5 minutes more looking for something lost. Another thing I didn't like was the disorganized personnel in reception. When we checked in, the lady in reception at that time told us that the laundry room was open from 7am. This was a lie. It opened at 8am.
