Ther was some construction chaos but all workers were respectful.

Classic old hotel with a great downtown location. Rooms are nicely renovated and updated. I always enjoy staying here. The Vertex on the top level is great as well.

Location is great. Staff was friendly. Room was clean and smelled fresh The room darkening blinds were amazing.

Bed was a little hard for my liking.

We couldn't for the love of us get the coffee machine to work. I googled it and it said that its filters need flushing out.

Fresh milk being offered instead of CREAMER... Crap with English Breakfast tea.

I like the character of the hotel, As well as the updated rooms.

Parking Was valet, only, and there should’ve been a spot where guest can get to their vehicles more accessibly

Great location and with a lovely rooftop as well. The wall of notable guests was so fun to explore!

We were ending what we called our "Dirt Trip" where accommodations were basic, so the Alex Johnson was definitely a welcome change of pace. The lobby is a beautiful example of rustic opulence, the desk staff was exceptional, drinks on the roof delicious, gift shop ladies interesting... Here's the best: hotel right across street from the Elk Theater, an old movie theater, which was playing Barbie!! Great way to finish a special trip with our 27 year old daughter. It is also in a great location, but unfortunately, our time was too short to explore much.

Historic hotel and restaurant in building.

Construction that started at 6:00 am and ended at 5:00 pm. Blocked off street and band played loud music until 9:00 pm. Beds were hard and room was super small.

They have no parking. The valet “service” that they offer is $30 per night in an uncovered lot with no security.

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was smaller than ideal - the restaurant and food and service made up for that.

This was a fantastic place with years of great history! I really enjoyed talking to the staff about its history. Very clean and comfortable room made for good rest! Atmosphere was awesome and 10th floor did not disappoint!

zero issue with front desk Cynthia themselves but if a ‘woman’ were to wear her clothes and make up like that it would be considered sloppy. regardless of pronoun type all should be a presentable representation of the property I’d think.

Location and rooftop

Front desk was hit or Miss on friendliness. The hotel is tired and needs to be updated. Also, I have never heard of asking for housekeeping. Your valet was sooooo slow although they were very friendly.

Room is spacious and Keurig machine is good. Plenty drawers for storage We love the location of the hotel and historical background.

Bed is a bit toward the soft side and there are no chairs in the room

The person working the front desk was dressed, like a drag queen, and I feel for a hope till this stature, it was completely inappropriate… The staff seem to be OK with it… Numerous people that I spoke with throughout the hotel, said that they would never come back… In addition, there were Other troublesome aspects to the hotel… Definitely not what we experience two years ago
