receptionist was correct, helpful and friendly. also the man cleaning our room was kind. it was the only affordable place last minute around near Sedona.
really bad internet. couldn't receive my mails nor send mails. so working wasn't an option. now - a day later - In another hotel. no internet problems whatsoever.
the water from the shower stayed a long time in the bath tub. Problems flushing toilet.
The lodge is deserted. We could hear our upstairs and next door neighbors talk with each other. So take your ear plugs with you. Swimming pool is the size of a bath tub. All together - run down place.

Close to everything
Very outdated and very loud! The walls are so thin you can hear the people in the next room sneeze or cough. 11 PM, 4 AM security was banging on one of the doors. There is no sleep at the lodge.

I booked this pet friendly location for its proximity to the Sedona Wolf Sanctuary, as I was passing through Sedona purely for the purpose of visiting here. I had an appointment Monday at 10am, and as I didn't want to leave my dog in the car during my visit, I asked if I could do a late check out that day. I explained the purpose of my visit and the appointment should take 90 minutes to two hours. The front desk lady said she could push it to noon.
I packed up my car and left my dog with food and water so I could just grab her and go when I was done. The appointment at the sanctuary went over by an hour and I didn't have service so I couldn't call the hotel. I rushed back and the cleaning people let me into the room to get my dog. They were still cleaning the same row of rooms only a few rooms down from me--this is important.
When I finally got service, I had a voicemail from the hotel that check out was at 11AM and that my dog was still in the hotel room. I was hundreds of miles away at this point, called them back and explained that I had late check out at noon and that the appointment went over.
The woman I spoke to said late check out wasn't written down on my account but said it was "believable," however, they were forced to charge me a $99 late check out fee, as by checking out late, I was forcing the cleaning staff to stay overtime, causing the hotel to pay them more. I understand if I was late by six hours, three hours, even--but one hour? Mind you, the cleaning staff were literally only three rooms away from me.
The room itself was $80, with a $35 dollar pet fee. So essentially, my late check out fee was more than I paid for the actual room. I asked the front desk lady if she could please waive it or give a reduced fee, as I was 1 hour late, and I was essentially being charged more than a single day. She said she would message the supervisor but it was unlikely. I also sent them a message on Booking and have not heard back.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
We had the worst experience that we've ever had traveling. First, they lost our reservations. We had requested a first floor room, and they gave us a 2nd floor room. There was no elevator, and we had to walk up stairs, which is very difficult for us. On top of that, they NEVER cleaned the room for the entire 3 DAYS that we were there! What was even worse was that the room was in complete disrepair. Nothing worked! Even the toilet roll dispenser was broken! There was construction going on next door too! When we told the manager of our experience, all he said was he could give us a free night stay the next time we come - yeah, right, as if we will ever go there again! Adding insult to injury, we actually had to pay for this - no discounts, no nothing!

The hotel and casino was average. Had to wait constantly for food at the buffet.
We were put in the lodge. Which was worse then a 50 year old motel 6 in the middle on no where!!! We had no idea there was the hotel casino and then the lodge, the original old motel. We were not told they were two different facilities. We had to drive to the casino or wait for a shuttle! Horrible place!!!

Location was good. I needed a place near my daughter, and the Lodge was the closest.
The room was filthy! Used coffee filter in the coffee maker; DOZENS of dead bugs in the light fixture above the bathroom mirror; shower head crusted with mineral deposits, and leaking around the shower head itself, so I couldn’t get full pressure; black makeup on the hair dryer; very dusty. The room didn’t have a microwave or mini fridge, and the sliding patio door lock was broken. I was on the second floor, and the steps are not properly illuminated. Then there’s the ice machine 🤮! Disgusting!

I liked that the pool wasn't overcrowded, private and had soe shade and some sun.
I wish the check-in desk was closer. The pool could use a few more and new beach chairs, the kind that lay down.
